Just finished this one.
What a good moment, characters are lovely.
I just try to make a run for Franki and I don’t understand.
I made every choices for the romance, relation with Rory was broken, I know she loved my mc, but at the end nothing. Even with the political carrer choice the romance didn’t appear. What are the conditions for this romance ?
I believe that the only way to romance Frankincense is to see them at the gazebo in Chapter Six, and end that scene with Relationship Frankincense of 66 or higher.
And the only two ways, I think, to make the date for the gazebo is to talk to Frankincense romantically at the foxhunt with the engagement to Rory low enough or the relationship with Frankincense high enough. There is also a way to make the gazebo date during the chess game with Frankincense by choosing the white pawn, while you are not in disguise. It’s probably too hard to romance Frankincense, though. Perhaps that will be fixed at some point.

It’s possible to get Figs accused of being Light-Fingered Lou and arrested. Don’t cooperate with Regina’s investigation, don’t participate in Mopsie’s robbery scheme, and don’t get caught lurking around outside the house; I’m not sure that’s sufficient, but those things helped. Then, don’t do anything to get him released, including helping Mopsie. Make sure the police don’t win the boat race, and fail to persuade Deputy Hardcastle to release Figs (by taking the last option). But the boat race winner then just becomes Justice of the Peace; if this is Primrose, she’ll order him released. I haven’t tried it with Firesnuff or the Cordwainers, but it probably doesn’t work then either.
Yes, there’s no way to get Figs sent away for good; Fate must love him. I think I’ve mentioned before that one of the two things I wish I could change in Tally Ho is that the game forces you to deal with Figs a bit more than I would do it now.
If I had to do it again I would write a new Chapter Two branch where you didn’t have to deal with Figs’ painting at all if you really didn’t want to; and a new Chapter Five branch where you didn’t have to deal with him at the dinner party at all.
(The second thing is that I wish I had written a version of the conversation between you and Rory at the Chapter Five dinner party where you didn’t have to lie to Rory about who you are under the disguise–there’s no option to totally come clean, because if you try, Rory doesn’t believe you. I would have liked to see you just tell Rory what’s going on if you want.)
But then, there’s a reason why Tally Ho got written in a year and not five years!

I have at long last (in addition to making about 200+ bug fixes, including some big ones) put in a checkpoint system, just like in Jolly Good: Cakes and Ale. It has to go through the editorial layer, but when you see a Tally Ho update, that’s what it is.

Oh my.. I just read this and can’t believe how good it is! Why haven’t heard more about this!! I do wish there is a sequel featuring this MC, seems like Jolly Good won’t be continuing from this story. I rather loved playing the only “sane” person in the cast, acting as the humble servant. And MC and Rory’s conversations tickle my funny bone so much. XD

In short, it’s quite likely that there will be a bit more content for the Romantic Interests, and I’m actively working out ideas as breaks from writing Tea and Scones.

I can’t help noting that today marks ten years since I first began Tally Ho–specifically, writing the blurb for it that eventually got accepted.
I know that time does strange things, but this decade particularly does not feel like ten years. It is impossible for me to believe that only ten years ago, these characters did not yet exist (let alone the Jolly Good characters); that a game in the 600k range was wildly long; and that I had not yet made the friends and had the conversations that writing Tally Ho enabled, here and elsewhere.
