My fault was not trying to sound demanding was just excited and appreciative for everything they have done with the game so far.

I understand that the coding for the game takes a lot of time and sometimes I creative for a amazing story comes out from how truly amazing the game is and all it’s potential

I can have the same problem too sometimes particularly because I have a lot of fun ideas but no clue how to make a game like this so when I see one I like I can come across as demanding when I don’t mean to be.

Yeah I understand it’s like you get passionate about the game and its story and get so deeply invested in it and you see things that would be interesting to see in it but the way it comes off is a little demanding.

The way it goes in making it still a little coding but it like files where they have different sets and what goes into what and how stats work and function. It sounds a little complicated but it more like a process of making sure everything runs correct and is in the right spots and flowing the way you want.

Okay… I don’t know how I missed the Tumblr for this but I’m so happy you posted on the forum because this is literally every wish I have for a demo rolled into one. Now onto the review/obsession/rant/rave about the awesomeness.

So I went into this with a very firm idea of who I would like. Who would be my favourite and which RO I wanted to get with. Spoiler went into it thinking it would be a mix of Sutton and Wyn. And while I don’t dislike them and the rehab stints with Sutton have me on the ground hoping to make each other worse… the demo made me obsessed with Lex. Like I don’t even know what happened but somehow I’m like… not me being a method actor and him pushing for perfection. Toxicity in the air say who? Somehow I’m feeling like this is that older instructor figure who pushes you for perfection until you break(?) and won’t stop and the word ‘muse’ Lex suddenly jumped all the way to the top of the list and is not moving.

Now onto the absolute shock. Prince Says Who? Like that Carlo reveal was ??? I’m still not sure what to do about or with that but I’m also obsessed with it. I’m with my MC and the red herrings you had up made me so worried cuz I was genuinely like… Is bro going to be cheating? So that was an interesting take tbch.

I’m low key in love and the way we can have our MC be in denial about having a problem :eyes:. Why do I feel like my MC is about to get a place in Rehab next to Sutton? Anyway the celebrity fame drama aspect you’ve managed to make very interesting and realistic while not letting the darkness overtake but still showing it really well(though I will hope it can get worse eventually) so honestly I’m here for it and wishing you all the best with the demo because it. is. AWESOME. Thanks for sharing.

For me, the relationship between MC and Carmen/Carlo has everything to be deliciously scandalous… Especially after the revelation!

My exact reaction knowing the secret lol

Thank you so much for the feedback–definitely going to get rid of all those typos before the next update. Also, in my mind After the Bell Rings (RIP) is giving Degrassi–lots of “lessons” for kids about saying no to drugs and stuff lol, total teen sitcom.

Yes! After the first chapter the story begins to really branch out. Chapter two starts off two possible ways: MCs who got the part, and MCs who didn’t.

Scandals will have a great impact on your career–drugs, relationships, behind the scenes drama, performance quality on set, etc. There’s actually a space on the stat screen that keeps track of it, at that has an effect on your “reputation” stat as well.

I’m also actively keeping track of drug use throughout the story with a hidden stat. This can lead to major consequences for some MCs.

Thank you so much for your support <3! I think this chapter overall is a good hint at all that’s to come. Re: rehab with Sutton, oh my gosh. That’s hilarious. And I’m glad you like Lex–he’s the most entertaining to write for sure. That little freak.

Wait, you can get the part?? I thought it was scripted in story to be rejected lol

Yea, being a child actor helps.

You can get it without it, I did, as a chose my mc to be the child of two md’s instead. I did choose my mc to be a method actor and to speak up in the prologue.

Kicking my legs, screaming my heart out. Oh so absolutely in love with this concept, my childhood dreams of acting and fame are being nurtured <3 can’t wait to see where this goes!

Think method actor and speaking up, and maybe also following Lex’s instructions, are the keys to get accepted. Mine’s a method actor and movie buff, but I did all three and got accepted, though not really sure, maybe there’s another key to get it

Oh, mine pushed back against Lex a bit too…the approach where you try to incorporate some of Lex’s criticism with mc’s interpretation of the character (Stanislavski, ftw!) and that got mine the part of the popular local highschool hero boy, Ryan. I think maybe not completely bending over for Lex helps too?

Ah, okay so that is it, I chose for my mc to get corrupted by the acting bug in highschool, much to the dismay of his successful doctor parents apparently.

I’ve been craving a story like this, so I’m really looking forward to following your WIP. I really like the depth of the characters so far and I’m curious to learn more of them. There’s also a lot of variation so far to improve replayability which is impressive.

I really, really want to be kind to Summer though. I know MC has had a tough day at that point, but Summer’s been doing so much for them she really deserves for MC to at least try.

Additionally, and this is probably just a me thing, I didn’t quite get a handle on C’s character, or rather the interaction between them and MC. The scene where MC and C meet is shown and then is cut off and the story tells you “and the time with them together is always amazing”. I would have really appreciated a slight extension of this scene to actually show what they ended up doing and how they interact with each other.

I do codedive quite extensively which I could give feedback to.

Getting the part or not actually depends on talent. You need at least 50 to get it. The only choice that affects talent in the first chapter is your background. Being a child actor or a theater kid will get +20. The other two don’t affect it. “Experience” might be a more comprehensive word for it.

I got the part on my first try. What you put for your way of going for the part?

If you pick non child actor, you need to incorporate Lex criticism he is after all the “legendary” Director, if you choose child actor acting you need to implement some of his criticism to fit the role you are playing.

While you get your dialogue for the role Lex is the one that see the bigger picture and how story proceed probably already in his head.

My pick when choosing non child actor route is the nun, not sure if you choose ryan I get Ryan when picking child actor and incorporate some of Lex advice, I get the nun while choosing non child actor background and fully implemented lex advice, on both case I pick Method acting.

My mc defnitely pushed back against Lex a bit, the middle route, where you blend his criticism with the mc’s interpretation of the part as a theater kid and it still worked fine for me.

Maybe what part you get also depends on other choices, I chose for my mc to be a pretty boy, so maybe that made it easier too for him to simply get the part he auditioned for, aka Ryan.

My MC got the part of the priest without issue as a theater kid, which seems to affect the only relevant stat. I recall there being a line that remarked on the MC probably having “enough talent” to make any part he chose work, since his personality stats didn’t line up with any part’s description perfectly. That may show up no matter what, of course, but it could also be a marker that the MC is on the right track.

I sort of wish that there could be an alternate route of getting the part by demonstrating that the MC is adaptable and can work as part of a team (taking the fall for the AD to keep the shoot moving and taking Lex’s direction well during the audition immediately come to mind) but the path where you aren’t taking the film role must also have some interesting opportunities for the MC that you won’t be able to explore otherwise.

That’s something I’m actually super curious about! When I saw in the code that there’s an option that the MC can not get the part, my first thought was that maybe in the second chapter Cheryl will contact them again to let them know their first choice dropped out and they need the MC as back-up? And then the paths would line up again. But the comment from Rohie made it seem like there will actually be diverging paths. Which is very interesting! This one:
