Yes!
Carlo seems like a walking red flag, and yet…and yet…he’s the most intriguing aside from the bestie who we cannot romance, pity as I do like hot male models. Still it is what it is now to see what scandals Carlo can get my mc roped into. Are we secretly dating the world’s most wanted cartel boss on the side? I mean someone has gotta do the thankless and dangerous, if very well remunerated so long as you get away with it,job of providing 'Murica’s elite with their chemical and sometimes herbal pick-me up’s after all.
I don’t think the name is a problem necessarily (heck, infamous has a character named Cory Fieldman lmao) but I know that sometimes celebrities don’t love sharing a name with fictional characters. Plus as a tumblr user it makes the tag more annoying if I’m trying to find stuff about your Sutton Foster versus the real woman Sutton Foster
Regardless, just thought it was important to make sure you knew ![]()
I liked this as its fun and a different subject than many of the games on the site.
Welcome back Rohie!!
I loved the demo and can’t wait for the next chapter, I really want to see how all these plotlines and characters develop. The friend characters were fun: Kendall, Dave, & Summer - I love her ridiculousness too like someone else mentioned and her enthused reactions to everything lol.
The childhood actor flashback with Sutton was adorable
, I wonder if they’ll recognise or remember the MC when they meet again… I’m not American so I’m also curious about what kind of show the MC was on as a kid, is there a real life equivalent? It sounds a bit like Tracy Beaker/Grange Hill/Byker Grove (British kids/teen shows) to me.
I liked the atmosphere, it felt like the darker aspects of the industry were in touching distance but it wasn’t overdone, it felt realistic. Lots of the characters were very casual about stuff like abuse of power (like the mohawk guy) or drugs, like you’d expect in this setting. The texts/social media posts were a cool touch too!
You reach…For the pendant of my necklace, which hosts about a gram of coke.
Made me think of Kathryn from Cruel Intentions!
@WynsPunchingBag
Love this fan username lol
Some bugs/typos that I found:
Not sure if this is a bug, but for the non-doctor parents option, the initial option makes it sounds like the MC has 2 parents, but after that it sounds like they have a single mother (during the child actor/Sutton flashback they can wish for their mother to meet someone). So it wasn’t clear to me what the situation was there.
I’m kinda in a semi-casual, semi-long distance, shorterm situationship. [I think it should be “short-term”]
#It hurts. Bad.
*set cutthroat %+10
[I think this choice is meant to reduce the cutthroat stat]
Mary is Carlo’s house cleaner, who at some points you see more than Carlo himself. She’s kind, and sometimes let’s you into the apartment to chat and relax, even when Carlo is abroad. [“lets”]
Carlo pauses, adopting a more somber look. “We all have obligations. You’re lucky enough to have a calling that ]feels like an obligation.” [extra bracket]
"Okay, okay,"he relents. “Sorry.” You stare at one another for a tense moment. “I’ll say this—I am who you think I am. Which might not be much. But what you see is what you get.” [Missing space]
“Care to explain what we’re celebrating?” you ask, your mind running with possibilities. Summer, whose career was off the a great start, hasn’t booked a serious gig in a while. [“to”]
You had tried to stifle your shock. Everyone of your cast members would have killed to work on Emory Way. [“Every one of”]
You spent what felt like hours atop that fake wake shed—you talked about your dreams, your pet peeves, your family life. [“water”?]
“I’ll come visit you—my dad got me this cool cinematography book I think you’d like. My friend’s back home aren’t really into that sort of thing.” [“friends”]
A few weeks later, you show wrapped filming. You were not renewed for another season, but you had seen that coming. [“your”]
When you finally make your way to the living room, the party is in full swing. Apparently, in the time you had spent in your room reminiscing, word hard gotten out—and quickly. [“had”]
The alcohol burns, as it always does. But that soon gives away to a warm and heady feeling in the pit of your stomach. [“way”?]
“I think every thing’s about to change.” [“everything’s”?]
Kayla is a lot of things, but a good actor isn’t one of them. She tends to over exaggerate emotions, and improves lines that make no sense to the scenes she’s in. It’s a jarring combination to watch on screen. [“improvs”]
Mason shrugs, avoiding her gaze. “Maybe it’s just true love. With some added career benefits. They’re both getting something out of it, so whats the problem?” [“what’s”]
That’s just sounds like a cope that let’s these creepy execs get away with taking advantage of people." [“That” & “lets”]
Mason brings the joint to his mouth, licking the paper and rolling it inward. “Felicity can handle her self, too.” [“herself”]
“So, have you had time to review the roles?” Cherly Nash’s voice is crisp and clear on the other line.
&
“I had a feeling you’d say that, Felicity!” Cherly exclaims. "That’s a juicy part. [“Cheryl”]
As you know, I won’t be directing, but the director whose signed on is very…well renown, to be frank." [“who’s” & I’m not 100% sure but I think the 2nd one should be “renowned”, or “known” considering how the MC responds]
Carlo: I hope every thing’s going well. [“everything’s”]
The number you have dialed is now longer in service. [“no”]
After a quick shower and some breakfast, you go into Summer’s study to print out the script—you’ve always preferred having a physical copy in your hands. Something tangible to to hold. [repeat word]
I’m a dramatic, expressive actor. I pour every once of feeling into my lines, drawing from my own experiences in order to breathe life into a role. [“ounce”]
You don’t know how long you spend pacing the length of the apartment, moving from room to room. You lounge upside own on the couch, mouthing the lines to yourself. [“down”]
From what you’ve heard, she’s a force to be reckoned with. Sharp tongued and cutthroat, but she’s got the undeniable business savy to back up her notoriously demanding nature. [“savvy”]
When you leave the audition room, your heart has traveled its way up to your throat, your hands are sweaty, and you eyes feel bleary. [“your”]
Tried my best to follow his advice. He was a world-renown director for a reason. [“world-renowned”]
You suck on your cigarette lieu of a response. [“in lieu of”?]
The Carlo/Carmen reveal didn’t trigger in-game for me even though my MC is doing their route. I saw it by peeking in the code and I think it’s because the scene moves straight from looking at social media in the cafe to the audition callback, so it gets skipped over.
You got a video call invitation in your email for a meeting this afternoon. This ad given you immense hope—if you didn’t get the part, a quick phone call would have sufficed. [“had”?]
Cheryl gives you the contact for a car service to get you to and from set, and promises to email you with more details about he filming schedule once everyone’s back from summer recess. [“the”]
Welcome back, I loved your last WIP and I’ve been waiting for a WIP like this. Looking forward to this.
Was I the only one where the child actor option couldn’t be picked?
What are the conditions? Is c in current demo?
Yes C is there.
If MC show to have at least interest in romance.
Nevermind figured it out I picked the wrong kind of parents my first playthrough. ![]()
I think this demo is very well done, with only minor things like typo I think this is impeccable work.
The pacing is good and didn’t feel rushed, the read is descriptive and detailed.
The character is adequately fleshed out (for opening part of the story) hopefully we will delve further later.
I feel author already captured the feeling and the emotion of MC enough with the storytelling, I can feel the anxiety, the dreadful expectation and bursting finale when MC is accepted.
I am guessing the story will have lot of branch? There is 3 role of different character so I guess each have their own line? I am just picking and reading one so far since there is no save feature.
It seems to currently be impossible to get virtuous up?
This is good! Another acting themed IF ![]()
The demo is very interesting, but I have to admit Lex immediately got me flustered like hell, there’s just something about him ![]()
Also, congratulations on your coming back! ![]()
Great opening. The acting side of fame hasn’t been explored yet in popular IF’s and I really find myself curious about what’s to come. Also, can we romance Lex? Because that weirdo is so interesting to me.
I found myself really liking all of the characters here, no matter how small or frustrating they may have been. And I particularly loved Sunny the most! I wish we had more of an opportunity to hype her up and talk to her, because she was basically our sugar mommy without any strings attached. I would straight up give that airhead the world; as her fiancé better do too, or he’ll catch these hands.
I was looking for a game like this so glad to get a chance to play this no more sims 4 me haha.
The last Hollywood game I played was Hollywood animal demo but I’m so excited for this thank you so much
Please tell me kira is a full-fledged RO and not just a fling ![]()
Promising. Interesting premise and I love the cast of secondary characters. I really want to know what happens next.
This is amazing!
That was a great read! Bookmarked, can’t wait to see how this story unfolds.
Hey guys, I understand that we are all excited for this WIP–as we should be! It’s good!!!
But please try to refrain from including the things you want from the author as part of your questions. It comes across as demanding and can overwhelm writers or put pressure on them to try and include things they may or may not have wanted to be in the story. As an example, asking if we will be involved in scandals is one thing but asking if the scandals are specific types you’d like to see is another.
