Here we commemorate on September 15 a cry of independence where in the primaries they create a theatrical cast that recreates the characters of the Conspiracy in the city of Querétaro with plans to start the rebellion on the first day of October. But, as an unknown informer, they advanced the plans on the morning of September 16 in another city, giving the announcement a priest holding a grim reaper of the Virgin of Guadalupe while ringing the church bells of that town proclaiming the following words that vary depending on the version but in short, he praised the Catholic religion of New Spain, recognized the reign of Ferdinand VII who was at the mercy of Napoleon Bonaparte in Spain and the way of life that the French wanted to alter in the rest of the colonies.

This is part of Fallas festival in Valencia. It’s normally in March but because the last two were cancelled we had a Fallas at the end of August. There are dozens of displays like this all over the city, at the end of the festival they were all burned, except one which goes in a museum.
