This is a really interesting question. Since Evertree came out I’ve had requests for nearly every NPC to be romance-able from someone (Sebastian Rivera, Tobin Brushgather, a random sailor at the tavern on Sordwin… )
I guess you could ask the same question about all the ROs. What is it that makes you choose Dandy over Lamuel, or Oriana over Gunther, or Winter over Ruby? And is there anyone out there who still hasn’t settled on any of them and is waiting for Book 3 to introduce a 7th option?
I wonder how many people will wish they’d opted for the docks when they realise how expensive the cost of living is in Lux…
Thank you everyone for answering this poll. I’m very surprised by how many people ended up in Marble Hill. Each of these locations will have a very different subplot attached so I hope you enjoy uncovering them
Mate, he’s a hot half orc, what other reason you do need?
Me wanting to romance him since book 1 is because 1) hot half orc, 2) grumpy, 3) I love having grumpy ROs with a wild/savage/beastly side to them, so, his orc nature, and 4) the thought of having a huge grumpy half orc as your RO and forming a power couple.
Then on book 2 it added number 5) rather tragic backstory that just makes him more endearing, and 6) him losing control on his rage? H O T
All these questions about what other players see in X RO… Like if you don’t see the appael then just don’t romance the RO? It’s fine if they aren’t your type.
I asked this question because I wanted to know what people found interesting about the character’s personality or motives. Obviously, if I don’t see the appeal of the character I won’t romance that character(looks at Leah & Lamuel) so it’s not like you’re telling me something I didn’t already know. But I asked because I want to know what other people like about the character as a whole, regardless of them being an RO, and while I like Gunther for the same reasons as other people, that doesn’t mean I want him as an RO. Also it makes a good discussion question.
Dandy isn’t a hopelessly naïve bleeding heart, which are character types I just don’t care for. Oriana I’d like to stab 8 times in the stomach then kick her or him off a cliff with a couple of bricks attached to their feet so they drown in a watery grave whilst they bleed to death. When I worked with Gunther in Evertree inn, I loved working with him on a professional level and I’d probably enjoy doing it again in Sordwin, but I’m not inclined to pursue a Romance with him, so I don’t know if he can be my companion but not be the person I’m in a relationship with. Winter, can get shot in the eye with an arrow that way they have something to remember me by. Excellent adversary, but I’ll be happy if we get the chance to put a sword through their throat and burn their corpse just to be on the safe side. Just for stabbing us in the back because pushing them off a cliff is a kindness they don’t deserve.
I’m replaying Evertree Inn again and there is something that always bothered me about it: While it’s fitting for a smaller MC to have a pony, wouldn’t it make more sense for a human or elf MC to have a real horse? I mean the MC rides it, but isn’t a pony too small for an adult human to ride it comfortably? If my knowledge about ponies is wrong feel free to correct me.
I think colloquially, when someone says “pony” they usually think of a miniature. But the term “pony” vs “horse” is actually about the proportions of the animal, rather than the size–I used to spend a lot of time on a pony farm and a lot of them were nearly indistinguishable from a horse. Part of the proportion is that a pony’s legs are shorter than a horse’s, so even without the size issue, a pony will generally look stockier and less graceful, so I assumed having the MC riding a pony rather than a horse was for the impression of inexperience
Makes more sense now. Since @ThomB uses UK english, I’ll imagine that human and elf MC owns one of these animals. Sounds way less ridiculous than imagining her with a pony which would be used for kids to ride.
I said language because in my language, when you say pony, you do refer exclusively to the miniature horses. Once I came to live in the UK is when I learned how a lot of people uses the word pony to refer to that type of mountain horse. And let me tell you, I was extremely confused at first
I find it funny how in the Evertree Saga world it’s possible to make a good impression on someone if I flatter them before threatening her for information. That’s basically how my high combat stat MCs interaction goes with Isaria xD
There is something I don’t understand. I was replaying Right now. Wth an Atheist elf mage that goes to investigate temple and find a scandal to insult gods. Well The asshole priest has FORCED ME to choose a god and wants I SUBMIT TO A GOD I AM ATHEIST… WTF HE PRETENDS?
I say no but I fear game believes now I am a goddess sex slave or something I didn’t understand shit what is going on? I should restart because going temple makes me Religious?
If I recall correctly after you choose a god/goddess for the priest to explain there is another choice about wether you think your previous choice was correct or not. If you choose that’s the correct deity for you then I think that locks you as religious the other two options are either stalling for time or refusing to believe (just not putting it so bluntly for the priest?) if I got that right.
I restarted. Just to be safe and never returning Temple. the core of this character is after fire She become atheist as awakening in her idea that there are not gods and all is a trick to con people. So that character were temple because was convinced it was the priest. So well being forced to choose was out character as my character mage was thinking
FIRE ELEMENT I CHOOSE YOU BURN BABY BURN
Choices were like… i am not decided YET there is not yet. My character is an asshole so there was no response in role so i restarted. Still the confusion i had was funny lol I was like Noooo
