Uh new update… Time to jump in then

Edit:

Error and typo:
  1. Found typo in the option “if only free food is an common as war” Probably an>as
  2. When visit to the merchant, there is option to buy something, is it working?
  3. “What did mean?” Interjects Aivah, her eyes curious. “Earlier, about Dr. Ihnsteen.” Probably What did you mean?
  4. During wagon scene after meeting the bandit, not sure if we meant to talk to Redgar, Theia and Reed multiple times, when I talk to someone 2 times it result in error.
  5. Choice between someone familiar and someone new, choosing someone familiar, Ehren talk as if MC is Male while choosing Female.
  6. Still within the same event with Ehren the event come out with error, chapter5start line 1727: bad label emberhold, choosing 3 option come out with error regardless.
  7. Cyn story so far doesn’t have error as other branch.
  8. Is it Tanja or Tanya? Some place it was Tanja on the other Tanya.
Opinion about the story update:

About the battle I think it’s good, using dice roll, was doing it for retain control after I purposely let Demon take over just for curiosity sake.

The Demon is useful it gave hints like Redgar and co do try to control MC at some length, rein in the Demon by giving MC sedative herb, he obviously have hidden agenda like trying to prevent demon takeover, that’s nice touch to insert truth among lie, if player able to discern which one is paranoid rambling or intrusive thoughts and which one is the truth, it’s somewhat like mind reading ability.

This update is amazing albeit still incomplete with many of interaction and choice under construction, so far the experience with Rose is good one, I get it why this done first apparently Rose is the one that capable to seal the demon.

I can’t wait to punch Ehren because he is so stupid getting cozy with the church, can’t he put two and two together? One can see another killed with knife and another being slashed with a sword, only one person have sword.

Opinion on the update

After playing through the update I have to say that this did not disappoint. The writing when trying to find another way when choosing between a truth or a lie has got be my favourite so far.

I have to say that Havoc was the most interesting character to meet so far. For a long time I thought the setting despite being fantasy would mostly be grounded mainly involving (magical) humans, so the introduction of something like Tieflings surprised me. I’m wondering if there’s more people like Havoc that we’ll get to meet later on.

In regards to combat, I don’t really like the dice rolls. It’s not clear if our stats influence the rolls (or if they can have modifiers) and I worry that depending on the dice roll we’ll be cut off from certain choices. I prefer just having stat checks where we pass/fail, with appropriate modifiers included. I’m aware that they do exist since they show if we choose to fight. I do like that actions that we make in previous scenes come into play (like eating the vivian helping to control our Daemon when we resist it).

I do like how the end of the chapter introduces Cyn. We have a character talk about what she did, and how they feel about it. I’m looking forward on Cyn’s feelings on what she did when we meet her.

Heyo!!! Sorry for going a bit ghost again since the last update, got a bit stuck in a weave of life. But I really appreciate everyone who’s tried the new update, as well as the feedback that’s come in since. I’m still working through all the feedback (my bug list is growing, but for the glory of smooth gameplay they will be squashed!). I did realize in some of my own playtesting after the update, that the battle mechanics I have rn need a major overhaul. I think I fell into the trap of crafting a loot of story but not enough true gameplay. So that’s what I’m focused on rn as I work towards another update.

Heyo! This is a mini update, more like a proof of concept I’d like to test out as I work towards the full new update. This is the new battle system I’m working on, it seemed simple at first but is morphing into something that has more flexibility than I thought. I’m just hoping to get your initial feedback on this, as compared to how the battle system works rn and also compared to what you would like in a battle system. This is a brief demo that lets you test out the concept I have in mind, enjoy!

Btw did anyone say about broken line about defense win or something,

I reread the story again and this time I didn’t hold back as much as before apparently it come out as an error.

The battle is more intuitive this time but not sure about the attack accuracy missed 3 times using the second 10 mana skill and the mana drain pretty quickly only gain fraction in return.

Fighting Rose is not that hard if consistent enough using defend option just use 5 damage repeatedly and charging once in a while for that 20 damage.

If enemy is set to be hard/strong not sure about it, seems like normal like this, it just seems to be repetitive since MC lacking mana to fully damage Rose without mana recovery.

My second run MC won with just using 5 dmg consistent attack and mana charging every two turn coupled with defense.

It’s pretty close thought like 20 health left for MC.

Using demon rage is a trap most likely as using it actually pretty bad losing 5 health per turn

Edit: yep just beat Rose second time not using rage, this time I am just repeating charge 20 dmg soulwalk then just use soulwalk and 5 attack dmg skill.

Rinse and repeat.

Yeah now on the fourth time after 3 streak win against Rose and using rage make me lose the streak, rage is a trap, MC really need that 15 hp to win, the increase damage doesn’t worth the 15 hp sacrifice.

Yo, I got stuck at Grim Reaper and I think the game skip through the call I couldn’t get to go to the tavern

Heya wasnt sure if you had heard yet or not but dashingdon is closing down at the end of the month and that would need to move the demo to cogdemos or another site.

Hope this finds you doing well and looking forward to seeing what happens next.
