Please help me! I am stuck on chapter 12 on the decision of whether to give in or refuse and no matter what I do I always lose control. Does someone know how to stop this I really need help!

I feel bad asking this here since the topics been dead for so long but is there a way to get 100% attunement? I’ve been trying for hours and the best I can get it 94%.

I can get to 100% and stay there till avoid losing until Chapter 12 but I can’t keep it after that.

100% attunement would involve making no incorrect choices throughout the game, which would be very difficult even for me—and I wrote the thing! There isn’t any achievement for getting a perfect score, but if there’s any particular choice you want to know about please let me know.

Ha I did the same thing when I first picked up the game. So many resets…so many.

Well, the choice I have the most trouble with is when Shiroyama asked us who we are and the choices are “Master of Jigoku” “the Sword that Cuts the Heavens” or “Demon Hunter”.

My spirit was the striped snake in this playthough, I’m not sure if that ties into it. My character was impulsive, perverted, charming, protective, and finesse.

Thank you for bringing this to my attention. While I made certain to avoid this in SoH2, in the first book there are some choices where certain character builds can only lose attunement. The stat challenges for that choice are:

“I am {name}, master of the Jigoku Ittō-ryū!” (Stoic) “I am {name}, The Sword Who Cuts the Heavens!” (Chivalrous)
“I am ${name}, and I hunt evil spirits for a living!” (Drifter)

In a future update to book 1 I’ll go through each of the choices and make sure this setup doesn’t happen again. Also, for book 3 I should be able to adjust book 1’s attunement for imported characters with your set of stats. Sorry for the headache!

Aja, So that’s why almost every time I lost attunement there I not like played Stoic Chivaldrious or drifter lol.

I see, well, it’s a good thing I plan to have a few different builds. Maybe I can get perfect attunment with another playthrough. It was mostly a self-imposed challenge so it’s not a big deal.

I do have to say I love this series! I normally don’t play through games more than once and I’ve done just the first book about 3 or 4 times (complete playthroughs anyway, idk how many times I restarted). I can’t wait for the next game!

Update: I did it! I got 100%

I’ve been giving these games a reply and just wanted to say, love them both!

I’ve got two questions though:

  1. Is it possible to reach over 70 Finesse without having the Striped Snake as your Spirit Animal?
  2. What’s the status of Book 3?

I’ll have to dig through SoH 1 again, but that number sounds about right for Finesse.

As for Book 3, it’s going great! I am very pleased at how it’s turning out, and you can definitely expect it later this year.

Amazing, I will definitely buy book 3.
And, does having more stat over other makes any difference. I mean I have highest thoughtful stat. And 55 chivalry stat, but in the game I have not seen any difference, I mean while making I am not very thoughtful I am just thoughtful and same goes for chivalry I don’t have little bit of chivalry I am just chivalrous. There should be some choices which can only be made by having certain high stat.

Great to hear on the release! Samurai of Hyuga is one of my top rated CoG releases.

Hmm, the reason I ask in regards to Finesse, is I like having all my chosen stats above 70. Without picking the Snake as my Spirit Animal, I can’t get over that threshold.

So far as I can see, the options for boosting Finesse are:

  1. A display of skill will scare them off
  2. Spike the koi fish
  3. I’ll let my sandals take care of it
  4. Ask the guard for directions and then take initiative.

Doing those four gets Finesse to 66, after which I need to select the Snake to get it above 70.

You can get more Finesse if you give your Character the name Saito, Oyuki, Tsubaki or Ichi.

I have heard and read that Samurai of hyuga is really good and so far I’m on chapter 9 in the first book. But I have been forcing myself to continue cuase i don’t find it interesting. So I want to hear others opinion because it would be a shame if I missed out of something

Maybe it’s not your cup of tea. I liked the first book from the beginning and the second and third have the same kind of feel to me. Then again, I’m the kind of person that has to fall in love with something/someone from the start to make it worth my time and energy. Maybe you’re different?
