I don’t know, it took me a few restarts to get it. The problem is that when you lose it you lose quite a bit and you hardly get any back when you make the choices that do line up. I wouldn’t say it’s hard but it can be frustrating if you don’t know which answers go with which trait.
I approached it as a person who doesn’t always behave in character 100% of the time, (a predictable ronin? never!), and that the Completionist must die so that a more vivid, complex, and deeply flawed character may live…
I agree with @Quaintrelle but she used prettier words.

I agree with @Quaintrelle[/quote]
Aww. Truly putting my ronin to shame with how often our opinions seem to attune.
I’ve played Fatehaven, Samurai of Hyuga Book 1 & 2.
I could only say that I’m totally in love with your writing style.
That scene with Momoko is awesome!!!(IMHO it’s the hottest scene that I’ve ever read in CoG). Especially because of the slow paced romance build with her since the book 1.
Thank you and good luck for your next release.
It’s much easier for me too hahaha I mean it in a different way …
I’m just going to pop in and say “Oh my FRICK, SAME HERE.”
I played each series differently, but I can completely agree with loving these works and this writing style.
I played Kuriko as a chivalrous, calculated, charmer that very much valued finesse with a swarm of fireflies to guide her.
Whereas I played Kurina as a sly, suave, vigilant, logical, resourceful, earth mage… then water mage. Either way, she had a way with her suitors.
What about you?
My most enjoyable playthrough so far is a perverted drifter accompanied by his snow monkey spirit to leave his old way behind, charming and finesse so that he can avoid the avoidable bloodbath, and his experience also make him calculated before making any decision.
As for Fatehaven, well… it’s been a long time since the last time I play it.
I know a lot of you probably familiar with the Samurai manga Vagabond but is anyone familiar with Blade of the Immortal?
Thats my favorite Samurai manga (not the lackluster anime adaptation) and rereading it makes me want to replay Samurai of Hyuga over and over again.
Yeah, Blade of the Immortal is what I was thinking about while playing…
How exactly did Masami survive Junko’s attack?
I always assumed Jun/Junko was too focused on the MC to cut deep enough since there is a scar left behind.
I would have said “Magic!”, but your explanation sounds better…
Maybe… But I think that would only make Junko cut deeper instead. What I considered was that Junko wanted Masami to slowly bleed to death in front of the MC, but companions arrived before that could happen and saved her. I think it fits the character better but to be honest I don’t really like it too.
Plottwist: Maybe they didn’t survive and the Masami/Masashi that is travelling with us is just their ghost that gets kept in the world because of their magic talent/knowledge or something? Of course not even they themself are aware of this and it will get revealed in a highly dramatic scene that’s certainly a tearjerker that will rip out the hearts of the readers.
I haven’t played this since it came out. Did they ever fix the fact that perverted gay guys kept ogling Momoko’s breasts?
Let’s hope so, I haven’t played this for quite a while either.
What if Masami isn’t human?
I have only played it once. Is is worth another playthrough? Just for reference, I have played through Lost Heirs 6 times. But I feel like in this game, the choices ultimately doesn’t matter much.
Also, I wish there was an option to go full demon samurai. Instead of running away, my Ronin should have sliced that idiot Hatch into pieces… and Momoko as well. XD
Haven’t played Lost Heirs, so I don’t know how SoH holds up in comparison, but depending on your stats you get different descriptions for the same scenes, and the experience does feel different. At least to me.
The protagonist going crazy and killing both Hatch and Momoko is actually one of the bad endings. So yeah, totally an option.
