Have you been to that region before? I am now imagining the Alhambra (Nasrid Palace) as the Zaledoan Royal Palace.
I have not, but Iāve done a lot of academic reading into medieval Spain and the Reconquista period, focusing on interfaith relations and the role of women.
The pet is always there, but you can choose to not spend so much time with them (and they wonāt be neglected if you do that!)
That sounds absolutely fascinating!
I love this Zaledo chat! It makes me want to write something there, maybe Iāll do something as an extra at some point!
Speaking of, hereās my update for this week:
September, week 2
What Iāve done: made this thread! Put up the demo and talked with a bunch of people about it.
Did some minor fixes and tweaks to the excerpt. Continued coding Chapter 3 - Iām now about halfway through coding it.
Whatās next: keeping on at the Chapter 3 coding. Iāve just reached a set of friendship and romance interactions where the player can choose who they want to have a one on one scene with; my aim is to get the structure of each of those in place this week.
I continue to be delighted and flattered by the interest people have in the game! Itās incredibly motivating and Iām so happy to see people enjoying it!
I saw Earnest and Helpful as the high spirit build personally - spirit choices were very much insert incredibly genuine pep talk here when not about physical feats / powering through adversity.
If scheming and sharp is the high intrigue MC then that leaves bold and no nonsense asā¦the high wit choice? That someone doesnāt seem to fit though.
I honestly have no idea. Iām just waiting for author clarification.
Bold and no nonsense could be high Direct plus high Wit, Flair or Spirit. I was more thinking of general personality types than the stats, so thereās definitely possible overlap between the options!
Heh, but that makes it even harder! Seriously torn between āscheming and sharpā and āelegant and calmā.
I realize sheās only a cameo character, yes, but damnit I want my CrĆØme!MCās throwaway lines and descriptions to fit.
Hi ! I just recently played this demo and WHY THE F*CK ARE THE ROS SO ADORABLE STOP IT SWEET AUTHOR aadafarftgsfybhjsbgsyh-
Nooo demo why you stop before I could take my future wifey down a peg. Really great so far, loved Creme, will love this too.
Anyway I am fairly excited about this WIP. I must have played CdlC at least a dozen times to get different endings. Also, I kind of curious how the romantic choice of Delacroix for my high spirit/wit MC worked out. In my way off cannon post script, the two ended up tying the knot after university.
What I like about the first chapter so far is plane trip to Archambault. If youāre a prince, you donāt want to have ride a train with all the Gallatin students. Second, I like the budding rivalries between Dominque and Beaumont as well as the MC and Javi. It would interesting if Dominque could cause a diplomatic incident. What caught my attention was the Beaumont gave off big time Eugenia Hartman vibes, so perhaps you could look for ways to differentiate more.
Chaps, I got a question here something in the previous book: which nation uses the rank: Brigadier-Colonel?
I believe itās just made up by combining the rank of Colonel and Brigadier General.
Iām so ready to be a brat
Will we have some interaction with Karson and Hartman in the futureļ¼
Who knows but if Hartman and Karson are working at Gallatin there is a good chance you might run into them. I would venture a guess that Hartman might be at chaperone at the next co-event between the two schools.
In the demo we already met Karson, but no interaction so far. Hartman is mentioned. Of course on the condition that they are working there
I wonder what the repercussions of protecting Lady Renaldt (to the point where she stays on as Headmistress of Gallatin) will be in this game. Especially if the trapped students remain in the mines. Would they just continue to work until they died, and would new students and āproblematicā staff keep being sent to the mines?
Progress report: September, week 3:
Where Iām at overall: 54000 words total with a 22000 average playthrough length. So itās into novella territory now!
What Iāve done: finished the code skeleton and placeholder text for Chapter 3!
Hereās a little peek into what my code skeleton looks like (mild spoilers within):
Whatās next: the writing itself for Chapter 3 - the code and placeholder text act like a detailed outline so I know whatās going to happen, but itās a case of making it pretty and emotional and making changes as I go if something doesnāt feel right. Needless to say this is the most time-consuming stage!
It is the most ācreativeā stage
I have finally played the demo! I picked random everything to start with, after I blanked on my CdlC MCās name. I love Asher a lot already, and I like the other students and some of the teachers. I look forward to having my MC spend hours soaking in the tub or playing with his big fluffy dog.
