Reincarnated as a…?

REBORN (WIP) — You died. You came back. You’re not human anymore.

You died. The how matters — it shapes everything that follows — but the dying itself is the easy part.

The hard part is waking up as a slime. Or a goblin runt. Or a dragon egg that can’t move. Or a wisp of light that can’t touch anything.

REBORN is an isekai interactive novel where you’re reincarnated as the weakest possible creature in a world that eats things like you for breakfast. A warm, pleasant voice in the dark offered you the deal. You took it. Now you’re clinging to your name, your memories, and the stubborn refusal to dissolve — while learning to survive in a body that wasn’t built for a human mind.

The village of Thornfield doesn’t know what to make of you. The herbalist leaves berries on the path where you first met. The hunter saw you save a life and hasn’t raised a bow since. The blacksmith’s apprentice thinks you’re the coolest thing that’s ever happened in this boring village.

The voice that guides you is helpful. Warm. Always there when you need it.

It’s also always hungry.

Features:

  • Four playable forms — Slime, Goblin, Wyrmling, and Wisp — each with fundamentally different gameplay, communication challenges, and ways of experiencing the world
  • Deep body customization — dragon scale color and element, slime color and texture, goblin features, wisp glow
  • Branching evolution system — three unique evolution paths per form (12 total), shaped by how you play
  • Five gender-selectable ROs who react differently depending on your form
  • A hidden system tracking how “human” your thinking remains
  • A village that tracks trust and fear separately — they can love you and be terrified of you at the same time
  • Past-life knowledge that translates across bodies
  • A guiding voice whose motives are… complicated

The demo covers Chapters 1–5: death and rebirth, learning your new body, earning a place near Thornfield, your first crisis, and your first evolution.

I’d love to hear which form grabbed you first.

Omg, I didn’t think I’d have this much fun playing as a wisp, but you proved me wrong. Amazing wip, I love your writing.

Huh? I don’t see any indication that it is AI.

Edit

I think it means this:

*comment ═══════════════════════════════════════

*label ch2_slime
*comment ═══════════════════════════════════════

*label ch2_wyrmling

Edit 2: An AI doesn’t seem likely to generate the line break above unless explicitly instructed to. It will cost a lot of extra tokens to make when you can make something shorter like ***.

Cool. Different forms to play with along with unique things with them. Adds a lot of replay value exploring the different paths. Its also nice to have other people like us reborn we can come across later unlike like every other story in this genre I come across.

I think there was supposed to be a line ‘they’ll need a defender’ or something because it is missing in the context

What is a “perfect ASCII section break”?

That looks a perfectly normal programmer thing to do to me. I mean, I use #####s, but I’m pretty sure I’ve seen ====s in headers somewhere before.

The game starts out in the stat screen as the ‘first chapter’. Not sure if that’s intentional or not

To answer the question asked- While I was quite tempted by the slime, I chose the will o the wisp as my first choice.

I’m liking this so far. Let’s see where it goes.

Hello there, by curiosity, did you use AI assistance in coding?

I do that in my own code. It’s honestly not that hard, you just copy the lines with dividers.

I definitely recommend CSIDE. I’ve been using it since I started writing with ChoiceScript, and I can’t imagine not using it. It also comes with a great tutorial, which is written in CS. As far as I know, it’s just a desktop app. I can’t imagine trying to write on a phone. It would take me way too long.

Hence my problem, hence why I use templates. Just gotta find AI free ones.

And isn’t this a helpful, wholesome community, shouldn’t you guys be uplifting potential creators and authors, writing AI slop and tarnishing my name because of a mistake doesn’t seem to fit everything else I’ve experienced in this community. Very toxic.

Could the web version work on your phone’s browser?
