"Pon Para and the Unconquerable Scorpion"—Raise an army to save reality itself!

Pon Para is in my opinion one of the best series active right now and Kyle Marquis one of the best CoG authors. I absolutely loved Unconquerable Scorpion and how it embraces completely the experience of adventure and fantasy while still keeping a pretty strong cast of main characters. Hope we see God of Knots soon.
Also, hope that we can usurp the kingdom from the princess: Sorry but your father killed mine and then had the audacity of letting himself be killed by someone that wasn’t me. I won’t forgive that.

Yes. I need more Tamur!

I actually did some major rebuilding in the Behemoth Mountain section; hopefully Great Southern Labyrinth games from before the rebuild flow smoothly into Unconquerable Scorpion games from after. Right now, to gain access to the Condors of Patabesh quests, you need either to have ended the last game with high trickster renown, or to play the game (as a new character or import) as a disciple of Amri/Amiria. If you find that it’s still acting up and you have current versions of both games, send in a bug report. But I’m pretty sure it’s working okay now.

(I keep wondering if I should just make the Condor stuff accessible to anyone; I love “thief stuff” so much but right now it’s for specialist builds only. Maybe I’ll go back and make it easier to access when I start serious work on Pon Para and the God of Knots.)

I’m working on PROJECT MURMUR right now, my top-secret game, but once that’s done I cannot wait to get back to Pon Para. Epic fantasy has always been my favorite genre and I look forward to figuring out how you’ll escape Teijia in that dungeon.

Game 1 & Game 2 were both disciples of Amiria and had high trickster renown (trickster was the highest out of everything). I’ll try it again with a brand new character (Game 3 was not a disciple of Amiria) and see how it goes.

Thanks for the quick reply! Looking forward to more Pon Para and that top secret project!

e: Started a brand new game as a disciple of Amiria but still couldn’t get the Condors quest. I’ll be sending in a bug report.

Aha, wait, I forgot to mention!

To access the Condors of Patabesh quests, you ALSO need the city of Mytele to survive the battle at the end of Game 1. Goodness, I almost forgot that rather important part! The complete requirements are:

  1. Mytele still standing
  2. Either trickster_renown > 100 at the end of Game 1 or you are a disciple of Amri/Amiria

And since Mytele is always in ruins if you start a new character in game 2, you can’t access the Condor quests.

I may end up rewriting some of that code to allow you to access the Condor quests in a new game, or to make it easier in general to access the Condor quests; we’ll see.

Mytele still standing

Ahh! Gotcha.

Either trickster_renown > 100 at the end of Game 1 or you are a disciple of Amri/Amiria

Unfortunately it’s still not working for me. I have 3 imported games where I have trickster > 100 & are disciples of Amri/Amira (where “condor_qualification” is true”) & Mytele is standing and the condor quest won’t show up.

Idk if this will help, but while I was messing around with the code in an attempt to get the quest to fire, I tried removing “mytele_standing” and leaving only “condor_qualification” but I couldn’t get it to work.

I did send in a bug report with a save file of the imported game.

It’s been a year and I’m the only one I’ve seen talk about this. Does anyone know anything about it? Idk why it’s so hard to achieve. To me, it’s the most sensible plan in the first place instead of an alliance.

Can confirm.

I put three levels in Mariner and did everything else and ended up with 64. I smooched Galimar and went on a date. Ended the game in the 70s, affection wise.

How to steal The Dark Ax?

I am trying to kill hyras not cut deals and speak to his ambassadors to help him or whatever.

Is that clannath and col in the artwork for the game?

Yeah.

Clannath is a human likely fused with a Crow, but she is not really a harpy. It’s more like she is (mostly) human in appearance, but also possesses bird-like features. The cover art is pretty good at conveying this. She obviously has the feathers in her hair, since they get mentioned frequently enough. However, one feature that doesn’t really get explicitly explained is her quick and quiet movement. I believe this to be the result of lower bone density, which is a feature in many birds of flight.

Idk if it’s a glitch but occasionally i get clues that don’t add up to any temple.

Mud caked moccasins with an abacus and a clean mantle

Based on your clues, the correct temple should be Kesh. If it isn’t, then there may be a problem.

You were right it just confuses me because the temple of kesh has wax tablets not abacuses which kept throwing me off :face_with_spiral_eyes:

You’re right that the solutions are written incorrectly in the code. Fortunately, if you look over the clues for the temples before choosing which to go to, it can still be figured out.

EDIT: @Moochava This is the line of text that needs to be edited, since it’s the last indication the player gets to determine which temple to go to. The “wax tablets” should be “abacuses”.

the icons of locked/unlocked achievements are reversed
dunno who deals with steam releases, so im not sure who to ping but author is a safe bet? @Moochava

who the hell is steam?

But no seriously, I’m the wrong person to ask about the achievement interface. @jasonstevanhill, is this your department? Does CoG have a yell-at-Steam specialist on staff?
