Yes, that is what Keliare currently is in my recent Ouroboros’s playthrough!
Aaaaa I remember coming across this WIP a while back. Loved the agency you gave the readers in terms of curating our own backstory. Reading through the current demo is so gratifying! I especially love all the slapstick with I; I’m super excited to see where MC and I go from here hehe.
I did come across some funky errors though. Apologies in advance if these have already been brought up! In chapter 4, when talking with Lena about an alliance and choosing the dialogue “Tell me everything you know about L.”, the mantra L and MC recited to each other is missing as denoted by “—” below.
Your fingers tremble ever so slightly as you grasp at the new note, at the inked mess of it, the swirls and blotches covering every inch of it. Lena flips it over and there, you catch another few words that make your heart want to leap out of your chest, to run and run until it would never be found again:
—
A shock of pain surges through your chest. No one but the two of you knew how much those words meant. It must be…
Or a very intricate forgery. From someone who knew you.
And in chapter 6 when choosing your specialization, picking any dialogue option locks you into that class without confirming. These didn’t impact my play to greatly, but I figured they were worth mentioning.
Kudos and best of luck with the writing! Can’t wait to see what the next update brings. c:
I’m confused, has there been an update, or are we anticipating one?
Ah. Explains why I saw nothing new when I went in, but I don’t tend to vary my playthrough much on longer WIPs.
Loved the demo, that beginning at the shack gave me sherk vibes “get outta my swamp”
I finished writing the draft for the first book yesterday. :>
(yes, the story is once again a duology after a period of being a standalone, some part because the reclusive way I’m going about development, some part because the oakwerth arc expanded into a beast of its own)
I’m still being really weird about announcing and showing things off (I feel like a baby that just learned to lift its neck in regards to IF) but I am really proud of how far ouro has come. As said in the tags of my first dev-tumblr post in months, I hardly recognize the current demo to the one I’m working on now.
Just thought I’d let you know. >:3
(Hope you’re doing well!!)
That sounds exciting. Congrats!
Thank you!
Looking forward to seeing what you have for us all and congrats on that progress.
Cool to see, really enjoyed what I’ve read of this so far. Im not really a tumblr person so didn’t know the progress.
:> to be fair, I have barely been online at all, discounting the discord shenanigans and my personal, shitposting tumblr! I just devoted myself to unleashing the story without pressuring myself about other peoples opinions, or sharing anything that made me overanalyse and question what my original thesis was with the story. This took a while and only in the past few months have I been able to really go for it. So you have been just about as snuggled in the dark as everyone else, haha!
It’s not the way I wanted to go about it, but it had to happen this way. I’m really happy I did dip out of everything, even though it sucked to do… sometimes life’s experiences mounts into this beast of a thing, and I had to prioritize that, like I did when I first started ouro; without thinking about publishing, or even having other people reading it at all. I think the story will be better for it, too, because for a while there, it lost all its spark to me. Now I see it as I want it to be, not as some overachieving pipe dream with a scope larger than life.
I’ll say, though, seeing that people are still excited about ouro, especially as I’ve reached a huge milstone and still won’t show any of it, means so much. It is a little box of pralines I’ll keep for emergencies, so thank you for commenting!
I’m incredibly interested, but I’d like your opinion as an author.
Should I play right now or wait? I won’t ask for a time estimate at all, just curious if I should invest in what’s there now.
While im not the author i would defintly suggest giving it a read for what we have now is very good.
understood o7
I love this
That’s a refreshing mindset honestly. Most authors on here care a bit too much about push back from the audience about lack of updated and gradually grow less enthusiastic about writing the story and showing it to the world at large when these are the types of people that their story attracts. So good on you I’ve always thought that too much capitulation to fans is a bad thing for both the quality of the story and the overall finished product.
I love this and can’t wait till this gets released.
I liked it
