Otome Games

Recently stumbled upon the Volcano Princess VN in Steam and having a blast with it. If you are familiar with the Princess Maker series (and liked the life-sim raising daughter aspect) then you may also like this one.

The English translation can be a bit spotty/weird in places and the ages of the cast are kinda wonky (in terms of the game’s timeline) but it’s a cute game overall.

Has about 50ish endings for the daughter and a NG+ type mode (spend points to unlock perks before the next play through). There’s even a few poly romances available.

It also, unlike the PM series, doesn’t give the option for the daughter to marry her dad/guardian so that’s a plus xD (as far as I know anyway, it certainly hasn’t come up in any of my play throughs so far).

It’s basically princess maker with an incredibly more manageable UI, I’ve always like the idea of raising sims and it wouldn’t be a stretch to say Volcano Princess is the ideal one. Interesting characters, pretty exciting story, and where you can play through the whole game without having to look up a single guide. Would highly recommend for people who are interested in these sort of life sims.

There is an otome game I want to post but I don’t know if it’s exactly appropriate?

Post it and let the mods decide if it’s too much?

It’s getting an English release, for such a short game, the story and characters are amazing. I played a lot of otome games and visual novel in my years, but this is the first one I ever really felt a deep connection to the male “love” interests. The heroine was great too, a type we don’t often see in the genre a lot at times. I can’t recommend it enough.

I really want to try this one!!

Also the amount of localizations of otomes, (especially on Switch) in this year is mind blowing :sob:

It’s would be almost perfect if tokimeki girls side got a localization, like a complete masters edition. I would absolutely die :sob:

Tokimemo and English?
Konami doesn’t even care anymore about franchise in Japan :sob:

I saw some people talking about this game on Reddit, and it seems interesting, but I don’t know if I’ll play. The possibility of the love interests dying that way is very triggering to me. I played one game once that this happened, and even if it was reverted after and was in a very specific way (because of magic etc etc) I felt bad thinking about it for days.

I just want the localization of Bustafellows Season 2, is this too much to ask?

EDIT: the demo for Rolling Crown’s new Demonheart game just got released!

I don’t get triggered, but I don’t like games where the LI dying. Or pretty much any game where characters I like end up dead (authors are more than welcome to kill the ones I hate, lol). So I avoid that kind of thing. It’s also why I don’t like overly depressing games where the MC is miserable, sad, or emotionally tortured by other characters.

Yes! I have to check that out. I loved the first Demonheart game, and the sequel. Demonheart: The Ice Demon wasn’t bad, but not as good as the other. I have high hopes for this one!

Hopefully soon and not two years lol

I finished the demo, and |I want more  Spoilers below.

So the love interests are the good-looking and chivalrous guy (Ran) and the strange and crass guy (Kaisar). And, even if I liked Ran and will romance him, OF COURSE, I LIKED THE ASSHOLE MORE. He is a little strange but everyone is so mean to him that I will love him in spite of those horrible people (and he calling MC birdie was cute, I ain’t gonna lie). Surprisingly, the only person besides the MC that doesn’t treat Kaisar like shit is Ran. I really wish that we can have a poly option.
What really got on my nerves - the rogue girl (Vita). Seriously, can’t she leave my character alone? I am seriously considering making an evil character just to kill her. She isn’t even a love interest but can be a fling. But even if we don’t show any interest in being her friend or more, she just keeps pestering us and being a bitch to Kaisar and everyone.

I hope not, two years to be with my beloved Shu again is too long :sob:
Well, not only Shu (he’s my fave), I really like all the boys and Teuta is definitely my favorite otome protagonist.

Here’s another game you guys may be interested in (though it’s not out yet; releases on the 22nd of this month) that you may or may not be aware of: Salty Hounds (Steam Page - I’m assuming the EA was a kickstarter perk since it’s not available). Official Website.

It’s a open-world dating/life sim RPG where you manage a security firm and date bodyguards and sounds rather interesting, so figured I’d plug it for ya’ll. And as far as I can tell it’s meant to release in both English + Korean similar to how Cheritz (Korean company that made Mystic Messenger) publishes it’s VNs.

Oooh! Added to wishlist. Though the dating-your-employees thing is… sketchy, it’s not the kind of sketchiness I boycott a game over.

Oh, wow I totally forgot about this game. I remember seeing the Kickstarter page a long time ago.
Perhaps I will check it out

From the LI blurbs on the kickstarter page at the very least two of the LIs aren’t your employees (one runs a rival company and the other works for a different, but shady, one).

With a possibility of three (out of the 5 LIs) not working under you if the crime investigator LI works independently (not entirely sure though since a lot of it is rather vague).

I think the game will be early access on Steam on 22nd, because there is a post on their kickstarter on the end of May informing the game backers of their early access launch. (couldn’t read much because it’s locked). I think the EA to backers was scheduled to april but got delayed.

There are some entries for otome jam already, and this wonderful game got me really emotional.

And for every 100 downloads, the author will make a donation for a mental health organization.
