You’re wrong about that bruh because we got the Baron’s Bluff from the duel with the baron and the Kabuki Killer from the duel with sadao
Brutal / finesse seems way more likely, given the whole Jigoku thing - although I’m curious about the logistics of a perverted move. Do you try to trample them, to choke them with your thick ronin thighs?
Given what Junko did with the two swords in hell my money is on Finesse and Brutal. However if its about perverted or chivalrous I would love that too especially since my MC is as perverted as they come.
Me too. I miss my Jun too. I hope in book 5 we can reunited with them again
The game is so cool, I haven’t finished it yet, but I’m ready to cry with happiness every second
Just re-read all books man such a blast from the past looking forward to book 5 I’d actually forgotten just how well they were written including each individual character
I don’t know if this has been discussed before but I just wanted to share this old theory I had when I played book 4 the fourth time.
In the first chapter about Mc’s childhood with Jun/ko there was that one scene where Mc had to go to the tool shed to fetch water and met with a wolf. Then after having almost a near neck-biting experience with it, Mc had seen something, which in their own words
“Since my life had already flashed itself before my eyes today, my mind conjured up something else instead—the future.”
And then you get to choose the option either your spirit animal or Jun/ko. On my first playthrough I didn’t play the Jun/ko route yet but after I did play their route fully I just started to realize this small detail when Mc mentioned about seeing the “future”. In the last chapter, we know that Jun/ko sacrificed themself by staying behind in hell. At that time Jun/ko’s physical description kinda matched the one Mc had during childhood
“The Jun I pictured was older and much taller, his brown hair even longer and more wild than it was now. He didn’t have an ounce of fat on his bones; all his muscles were well outlined just under his skin. He smelled like smoke and carried a katana by his hip, which made me jealous.”
It just got me thinking, but what if this was actually Jun/ko from the future, post hell-trapped, who came to save Mc that day. And why I say post because this sentence
“His eyes were golden but held too much sadness to be a monster’s.”
For those who went full Jun/ko route, you know that they were ready to give up their life to save Mc’s and they did put on this same expression when they did.
I know this is a stretch but I just can’t help thinking about adult Jun/ko protecting child MC and that’s just kinda cute.
Well now I’m even more obsessed with Jun/ko and this theory Can’t wait to be reunited…
Aw this would be so cute. Idk if it’s really the intent or not, but either way it’s a nice interpretation. SoH is full of foreshadowing and symbolism anyway, so i definitely wouldn’t discard it.
Yea. Now this makes me want to replay the whole series again and make a newer playthrough before book 5 comes out. But the fact that I have to go through all the attunement shifts again scares me because of how much of a perfectionist I am and 1 wrong choice will make me want to bite my knuckles hard as I restart everytime
Don’t get me wrong, SoH’s story is really good, but my only complaint is the attunement mechanic. And I know it’s not really necessary to get all attunement shifts but I just can’t sit well if I don’t see that attunement bar stay at a 100%. I just hope book 5 would be more attunement-friendly
how is this cute and sad at the same time?!
I definitely understand your concern about getting 100% attunement, @Saint.C03: there’s a lot of people who have expressed similar anguish over the years! When I was a younger man, I was a perfectionist no different than a lot of my readers are. But over time, I began to realize that I was sabotaging my own experiences–and I’m not just talking about videogames, here!
I don’t think I’m capable of convincing any perfectionist to change, but I’ll always hold out hope that (for their sake) time does the job for me. As for Book 5, I think you’ll find it very attunement-friendly. But please keep in mind that there’s not going to be any special 100% attunement ending for SoH!
Oh, that’s good to know! Thanks for easing my concern.
Me too. But recently, I’ve been trying to exercise playing more casually than perfectly for new games I bought. Just for the 1st and 2nd playthroughs, hehe.
SoH has been one of my favourite IFs since I first discovered CoG from my friend. And every installment always gets me at the edge of my seat especially when it ends on a cliffhanger. I just really want to see it through till it’s ending, hopefully not too tragic
But still, thanks for writing such a good and compelling story! Really looking forward to book 5 and the rest!
I’m just waiting to reunite with the OG crew.
Unfinished shit awaits.
Hey, we’d probably get to visit a wedding too! Weddings are always cool.
Red wedding
I have a bad feeling about my MC meeting the bride. She seems spoiled and overly emotionally that combined with her being mad at a the MC isn’t good. Plus with the MC hopefully being given the option to be pissed about losing Junko again that could be an explosive situation. What I don’t want is for her to to go off at the MC and them to take the high road, that annoyed me for the first three books I loved them but still.
I think concerns is well thought. I am always intrigued why our ronin get called sword who cut the heaven. In China, emperor is respected because they are representative of the god. It means that emperor is part of heaven. So I think in the end our ronin will be fighting the emperor. And maybe that’s because masami sister. What do you guys think?
Honestly I’m pissed with the emperor because he have the nerve to have a wedding while the mc hunting demons and always taking the fall and now junko is gone, and also I’m disappointed in masami’s spoiled sister and for her information there are greater things to worry than her marital problems but don’t get me wrong this book is still my favorite book of all time and this just my opinion, I just wish I can time travel so that I can read the book 5, but that’s just a joke
