Missed this comment somehow, sorry. As soon as the demon chooses their gender identity, they will be put into a form of that gender. Genderqueer (MC) demons will get the option of which gender to assume. Any demon will be able to shapeshift to male or female forms, with varying features, if they don’t need to be recognized as their “usual self”.
The male demon had lipstick smudges because of whatever happened on the bus. I was thinking that if it was a gay male demon, the guy in question was wearing lipstick. I could change it if that seems too confusing though.
Will there be an option to just say, “yeah to hell with this school. Wendy be tripping.” And just bail entirely?
Cause I might pick that option if not only is Wendy inherently a terrifying hell beast but also trying to become/impress slenderman. My vampire can only handle so many shenanigans per semester.
What’s even scarier is that the girls that did it were 12
If you want to bail out of the first day of classes, you will have to just quit the game. Near the end of the game, each species will have three basic options:
Fight the Sinister Evil Thing
Have a chat with the Sinister Evil Thing
Decide this is really none of your business, and either ignore it or move/change schools
No, I do not mean Wendy. I mean the Huge Plot Altering Thing I am not revealing yet.
Ahem Long-winded recitation of coding/writing history follows.
I have previously written a text-based module (in usual CYOA “go to line 100” type formatting with a much less elegant stat sheet.) It was for an obscure gaming system called “Tunnels & Trolls”, was called “Unicorns for the Mafia”, and looking back I see tons of flaws with it. But, I did finish the thing.
When I was about seven years old, I coded a game in QBasic about a day in the life of a rabbit. Then later in about fourth grade, I loved the visual coding medium going at the time, HyperCard (you could draw buttons by dragging a box and stuff.) I made a bunch of games with that. I recall one being a really terrible one about the Battle of Bull Run and it turned out I was thinking of the one at Little Big Horn and I edited all the audio files at the last second and so I was always saying “the Battle…. AT. THE LITTLE BIG HORN” and it was embarrassing.
Besides basic html, which I picked up via one college class and people at various jobs asking me to do it all the time, that is the extent of my coding history.
I write lots of stories. I have not published any. I also have a couple of novels in progress on the shelf, but I usually prefer shorter fiction.
Thank you for clearing that up for me! I think it’s fine how it is. I was just wondering.
I’m so going to try to become best friends with Wendy because I’m assuming she’s going to be at the bottom of the social ladder and with my help I’ll make her fabulous! And also to love herself for who she is.
Huge plot altering thing? Hmm I’ll have to be on the lookout for huge plot altering thing.
And wow that is rather impressive. A child prodigy from the start and now here you are. I’m pretty sure I’m the only one here who has absolutely no experience with making video games and coding lol
Lol my only experience in coding is making a simple calculator in java to see if i liked programming (planning to be a programmer when im older.) Which btw, i did, though remembering everything is a pain. I did make several (never finished) rpgs with RPG Maker VX Ace tho. I lack the dedication to finish making stuff (I even have 2 unfinished stories somewhere, one in a forever missing text file and the other on paper.)
Might i just state that im only 16 too XD.
For the people keeping up with this thread, here is a super special sneak preview of the first draft of my cover art. I drew it with a Sharpie last night. (The hands and feet and werewolf ears and wendigo face and some other stuff need another edit or three… but here ya go.)
The bad news is that I have a flu and the fever makes it hard to think straight, so I may miss my self-imposed demo update deadline this weekend. We’ll see how much I can get done by then.
Will the powers of a different race be used regularly or will they be rare scenes? For example, would a wendigo or vampire need to use their enhanced strength (especially agaisnt humans) often or will it be a rare occurrence?
And could our powers (even the ‘good’ ones) bring out bad situations? Like a vampire accidently hurting humans because theyre too strong, or a goblin not being able to defend himself. Things like that.
Good morning. For your first question, I don’t know. I’m working them in as often as I can, but combat is a fairly small part of the game (more so for some species than others.) Yes, your powers can be disadvantages (or if you’re really clever your disadvantages can be powers.)
Also found this message after choosing the first option for what materials I brought to class:
“Character_Creation line 422: Non-existent command ‘conformity’”
The vampire has a doctor’s note to get out of any activities in direct sunlight, like outside gym on sunny days. Their unfortunate medical condition is one reason that a fairly attractive and intelligent student is a bit of an outcast (also, being raised by a vampire and secretly thinking of humans as lesser or at least “other”.)
EDIT: I believe the vampire’s medical condition, officially, will be this -
It can manifest as a lack of sweat glands, making it very dangerous to be out in the sun or to overheat, and can also cause variations in teeth (usually, making them pointier.)
At least we can still survive in the sun… so how bad is it are we weaker than humans or do we just don’t stand a chance against another monster? Can we improve our resistance to it?
You’ll basically be sick and weak if you spend too long in direct sunlight - imagine having a bad hangover or a flu combined with heatstroke. I think you would still be a match for a human, but you really wouldn’t want to fight, you’ll be instinctively craving rest in the shade. No, you can’t get better at dealing with it - it is a physiological reaction of your species, not a matter of willpower - so you’ll have to get better at working around it.
On an off hand note getting into the shadows shouldn’t be too bad since the cheerleaders and other popular girls will want to do that… the next day it was rumored that she “moved” and I felt much healthier.
