That’s assuming that the demons in this game are abrahamic, which as far as I can remember, there’s absolutely no evidence of that being the case.
Despite the plurality of influence the abrahamic religions have, they neither invented the concept of demons or trademarked it.
Anyway, since goblins probably aren’t angels who refused to take sides in the war of heaven, vampires aren’t corpses possessed by demons, and werewolves aren’t witches that Satan gave the power of illusionary transformation to, I’m guessing this is a “muggles made up stories about things that actually exist and got most of it wrong” setting as opposed to a “bunch of medieval muggles got everything right” setting.
I like that demons are considered evil, whether they are or not: in real life if you are born into a community where it is considered good to be selfish or i look out for only me myself and I, or where you are stereotyped as bad, it can be hard to not be that, as life isn’t always fair.
As I sat down after playing the new update, I asked myself the same question once again:
Was it more fun to be the flirty, popular, rich kid vampire I play all the time, or the badass, inconspicuous, loner wendigo I play all the time?
I loved playing with the first, but I felt more closely related to the second (if you ignore the badass part).
Well, in other news, what’s the maximum amount I can raise my wendigo’s attractiveness to? I only ever got as far as 35.
Why am I asking? Because that is probably one of two reasons (other than of course, bad relations) that caused me to start a fight with Hunter, seriously, I just walk up to him to talk, and suddenly the fight scene starts.
Dude, I know I’m ugly, and I know you know I’m a monster, and I know you hate me, but calm. the fuck. down What kind of guy just punches a man who just walks up to him?
Okay fine, maybe I wanted to start a fight, but I didn’t know just walking up to you would make you that angry.
The talk about demon’s semi-evil nature and whether they can be truly 'good or not, reminded me of that dragon from Skyrim (his name started with a P but I can’t for the life of me remember it). My personal favorite quote from him is something along the lines of ‘What is better? To be born good, or to overcome your evil nature through great effort?’
@Jaxx I don’t know about Hunter, but Artemis was more hostile than I expected for my Wendigo. She did not attack me but she made it more than clear that I was not wanted near her. I was surprised, because I did my standard choices for my Wendigo and she normally was much less hostile. @Sashira Out of curiosity what’re the requirements for the twins not behaving like raging asshats?
@Durxa
Uh… Yeah, it is working for me now, Dropbox must have stopped working for 5 minutes or something, Kitkat had the same problem with another WIP.
Dropbox has been unstable for some reason
I was playing Dead Space 3 recently, an enemy you encounter (the Feeder http://deadspace.wikia.com/wiki/Feeder) reminds me a lot of a Wendigo. Just a horrid undead Wendigo.
Wrist slap (to both of you) for talking about stuff irrelevant to the game that I also don’t recognize. Please no more anime/video game/etc. chatter - if you have a super-relevant suggestion for something I have to see, you can always PM me.
Although he still gave a good quote. ‘What is better? To be born good, or to overcome your evil nature through great effort?’ Could a demon have that kind of mentality?
And I think you missed one of my previous questions. Does that scene in the alley effect anything? And would we get more chances to decide what our moral standing is?
I agree, @Durxa made a good point by drawing a comparison - I appreciate that those comments all relate back to what I’m doing here. The problem is when people dive on that and start comparing dragon gem staffs or whatever this was devolving into. (Apologies for any ambiguity in my last comment.)
The scene in the alley affects the demon’s Humanity score, which will determine which endings are possible, and yes, they will have many more options to define their moral stance.
I remember reading a book (not the bible but more like an overview) I believe it said demons were lustful angels who went after human women leading to a hybrid race (I think giants) causing god to send them to hell and kill everyone I think causing Noah’s arc. And the rest followed Lucifer after he rebelled.
