Lordirish presents 2nd Annual CScomp

@Havenstone It’s another huge undertaking, unfortunately. I have a detailed plan for it involving a convoluted time travel map that takes you to many different periods through history on your journey. It wouldn’t be possible to simplify for this competition, though. It’s on my todo list (along with The Race 2, Blackraven’s second and third part, and a good old-fashioned fantasy game with elves, dwarves… oh, and another twist in there too…)

Three sequences done! If I continue at a rate of a sequence a day I will have the game complete on the last day of the month: May 34th.

I just can’t work with a time limit, I won’t be able to finish my story not even if I turn it into several parts so I’ll do my best to come with as much as I can bit you should expect something that’s around 2000 words

@PORT3R
I would hazard a guess that no one will have a complete game, I could be wrong. It is a Hugh undertaking to write so much in such a small amount of time. Looking forward to what you manage to carve out.

I’m not going to finish. Just plain out of time this month. Oh well, maybe next year.

Wait I missed the ANNUAL CSCOMP THREAD!?! Gosh, I am blind and I feel like my eyes have cheated me…

Just to say a ‘Good Luck’ to everyone!

@Lucid @Lordirish
Can’t say I’ve had much luck either :’(
Been far too distracted by other things.

The only chance ill have to write is my half term break, which just so happens to be the final week of the comp. Oh well, if I dont finish i dont finish

Don’t worry guys just write, the better quality chapters you can, even if it’s only a few of the final story, but please let the game you submit have an ending with a sense not just let it hang there in half of the scene. That’s annoying and break the flow.

I am trying to leave interesting by-ways and alternative story paths in *comment lines in the code that I can come back to after the competition. I want to get an end-to-end experience complete, even if it is a shallow one.

However…just discovered in the current scene a necessary fight-scene choice that I have to build out, and of course that is blossoming into a scene in itself. Peril of good ideas starting to blossom…

About 1/4 done.

Two weeks left ~X( >:)

D:

Goes faster when you look at a scene and say, “Nah: I can come back and write that another time.” Might end up a mini-game, but it’ll be complete start-to-finish.

2 weeks! holy crap, i am still stuck on my 5 k words

I’m just done with the prologue which is around, uuuum, not a lot

This would go SO much faster if I could just turn in my notes for the scenes not yet written. Such lovely notes…yet they spawn so much complex work (did MC meet X yet in this thread? Does s/he have his/her weapon? Have to go check again…).

Oof: nine days to go. Now is the time for trimming down some alternative paths and keeping just enough so that there is interesting game play and I can complete a playable version of the thing.

I’m pulling out because I haven’t got the time. Good luck to everyone else though!

@Blazestorm
I am sorry to hear this, but I do understand. Hopefully you will continue with the project you started amd get it out for us to play. :slight_smile:

I will probably not submit anything as well. For whatever reason I have lost all interest in the competition piece and every time I try to write some more for it, I end up working on my medieval project instead. It’s infuriating and unfortunate. Wish I could submit the other project, but I started it before the competition theme was announced, so it’s not within the spirit of the rules. I might suddenly just get a spark and write for a couple of days straight and end up with something I am satisfied enough with to submit, but I doubt it.
