it could be used but there’s a 50% chance of Andus seeing it and Sophia will see it making you seem like a cheat and a wimp at same time (also it’s not 100% guarantee that magic will work)
Edit: also MC would be too young to be expert enough to do magic without anyone noticing
Well I was referring to in the scenario of fighting Marxus who is more specialized in combat skills.
I think Marxus knows magic as well for combat tho it’s possible he wouldn’t notice
maybe you can combine some stat like Intelligence and combat to make some trap or strategy

Combining stats could be a good idea to handle things. It could be similar to a reward for diversifying your skill set, but there should still be ways to using a single skill to handle situations for players who prefer to specialize.
you can have high blades to beat him or raw strength to beat him to pulp
edit: then just beat him not to pulp

yeah but to be able to do that you should have that ability as high as possible since Marxus can have high levels in combat but also can have a reasonable level in other abilities
Yeah, for example my MC is really good with blades, and if there was absolutely no way for him to beat Marxus it would be pretty annoying. Being locked out of certain sences is fine, but once I’m in one I think I should be able to get the same result as people woth different stats, just different way.
Yeah it’s jousting but just in general it should be possible for people who specialize to get the same result as people who diversify.

edit: but a high nature could let you manipulate Marxus’s horse (I think) if @Sophia has put that stat and it’s gains by then

yeah but you will be Disqualified unless he challenges you to a duel or the winner is decided by a hand-to-hand combat

you know depending what type of jousting is , they can still fight in the ground… if there is a drawn or both of em are knocked out of their horses.
