I’ve got another idea in mind; If you haven’t noticed, there’s recently been added a Sanity module. Based heavily on SpitFireEX’s suggestion, your sanity doubles as your resistance to the demons in the house. Certain actions deplete sanity. If it ever reaches 0, the demons will take over the MC’s mind; They have an option to either go after and kill the rest of their friends or use the last of their willpower to make sure they don’t by committing suicide.
Unfortunately, if the MC gives in, they can’t turn back.
Another update: First chase scene and 2 possession scenes! Aaron and Lily can now be possessed depending on choices.
Unfortunately update is VERY glitchy.
Hm, so far I have only managed to get to an ending that didn’t involve an error once, when I hid in the bathroom while Lilly was dead, resulting in me being found and murderized.
@Shoelip OK. I haven’t finished the chapter and I’m still learning about indentation but I’ll see to the problems right away if you tell me which other endings you tried.
It’s a problem with the programming; I tried to add a “Killer-is-your-own-gender” feature, but it’s obviously not working. I think I’ll stick to keeping it a girl, though.
@Aquos_Boost Well I think I’ve played a male character on every playthrough and agreed with the girls on every playthrough, other than that I’ve tried all sorts of different things all resulting in errors before any possession scene or second death scene besides the aforementioned self death scene. You should get an error any time you try a path that doesn’t involve hiding in the bathroom and getting killed.
For example I just did a run where Darren got killed off and then I just kept pressing next until Lilly saved me from the killer in the bathroom. Then I clicked next again and got an error. line 94: invalid indent, expected at least one line in ‘if’ true block
@shoelip I’ll take as best a looksie as I can. But so far, only one character should be dead.
I played through quickly and got a scene where the killer just leaves you alone in the bathroom. No errors. (The 'killer-finds-you is something in the game that pretty much relies on “heads or tails”)
@everyone I really need to know EXACTLY what paths you guys took. Otherwise it’s near impossible to figure out what needs fixing.
Skip to death scene, Lilly Dies, first option for everything until I have to choose a door. Second door, Alissa under the bed. That was actually the first time in quite a while I’ve manage to avoid an error, though I’m pretty sure I got one before. Strange.
I managed to get rescued from the bathroom by Lilly without any problems now too.
@Shoelip It may be because I fixed that error this morning/last night. ChoiceScript says Indention isn’t necessary, but then it says it is and I get massively confused.
I do apologize for the lack of update, everyone. A, I’ve been backed up with schoolwork and B, I’ve been playing a lot of The Witch’s House and Mad Father.
However, hopefully I’ve been put back in the spooky mood with the latter and will have ideas on the scenes.
Update; I’ve added more for the path if you rescued Lily and she hasn’t become possessed; unfortunately that’s all I’ve done. Other than add in proper endings rather than death scenes. You still die in the endings but later I’ll go and add save points so when you die you can start from a certain point of the game.
Hm, how are you supposed to get to a point where you rescue Lilly? So far I’ve only ever managed to get rescued by her and it resulted in an error shortly afterwards.
That’s odd. I’ve played through it several times, met up with Lily each time and managed to pass by a rescue scene. Try killing off Darren or Aaron, it gets rid of the retarded “Calm the fuck down Lily” scene since she thinks everyone else is still alive.
I think I’ve noticed an error with ChoiceScript, though. It keeps telling me to indent the statements in the “if” block, but then it tells me I shouldn’t. It gets awfully confusing.
I’m planning to unfortunately put this product on hold; All the coding is actually rather confusing and setting out all the paths is also rather confusing. Honestly, to me, my game feels like an even more generic Choice of Zombies-like game.
