I liked the complexity of changing the dialogue based on stats
Showed real hard work there.
And I don’t know if this was intended or not (but it was really good and appreciated)but when reading it i felt like the MC is really depressed and melancholic about his choices in life and lives in a state of nihilism and self pity rather than being jolly and free spirited like the description implies

@Gower Found this in the demo :worried:

> “I do this and that,” {fitz_he} says at last, banging the pots and pans alarmingly in the sink.

Thanks! I’ll fix that.

Playing the demo right now. It’s delightful and can’t wait for the full game!

Some thoughts of it all (spoilers, of course)
  • The person who voiced the trailer also happens to be the one my brain decided to be the narrator of it.
  • Aw, there’s no backstory option for a Mopsie who decided to willingly break up with Figaro.
  • Love that you get unique dialogue if you chose “Pamplemousse” as a name.
  • I also happen to be sitting in the same way as Fitzie when she was first introduced (table elbows, chin on hands, the whole deal). Not entirely sure what this means, but I do find the coincidence amusing.
  • I like how you can return to the start of the chapter to replay it before proceeding! I suspect I’ll use it often.
  • The “Telephone Sangria Cocktail” bit is my favourite moment! Falling for Vyv hook, line and sinker.

Saw this small typo in Chapter 1:

i faintly remember my previous protagonist manage to persuade Mopsie to forget about Fig , although i am not sure whether she willingly broke up with him or not , would like my new protagonist to screw Fig again if possible

Actually, there is no path in Tally Ho in which Mopsie willingly breaks up with Figs, alas. She either is forced to be apart from him, or they receive permission to marry, or they run off together.

The Monaco ending isn’t canon, either. :slightly_frowning_face:

Yes, that is one of the few endings of Tally Ho that aren’t explicitly offered as an option at the start of Cakes and Ale. I don’t know that I would say it’s not canon, but that that ending doesn’t have special text in Cakes and Ale–if I do end up having some variations for the Monaco ending in Games 2 and 3, I will definitely add an option to select that, though!

Hope you do. I have four characters in Tally Ho. Although I consider my “canon” one to have the ending where you influence Haze to take up an honest job and try to tackle his problems I also enjoyed the Monaco endings.

Although my second favourite, only very narrowly edged by the Haze endings is the one with Valentine where the mc becomes a Hollywood actor. I hope any successful Hollywood acting mc and Valentine may have done will get referenced. :persevere:
Personally in my own headcanon I always see mc and Valentine making a really good opposed pair in classical Hollywood movies with my mc playing the villain to Valentine’s hero roles (classic Hollywood used to love Brits with upper class accents as villains after all.
That said I can also see that mc, as a natural actor, playing roles, against type, where he is more “American” and “redneck” than most Americans, including the accent.

I loved the way the narrator narrated the trailer, please give him a promotion!

I’m really curious here … what do you consider a “redneck accent”?
