So far, I’ve been thinking to make it a short story, and focus on the loneliness that would happen if you were in this position for so long. But there is a cat to keep you company! And yes, the lack of NPCs could be an issue, so I’ll refine the story more. Maybe Act 1 could be all the fun and games then loneliness, then Act 2 could be meeting people in the same boat as you lol
What about a game where you’re struck by lightning and then teleported back to when you were a baby, but you keep all of your current knowledge?
Thats more book material than interactive fiction
I think anything can be made into an interactive fiction. What matters is having choices, branching, and different endings.
Maybe like you’re 6 years old and in school and you can choose to show off your knowledge, and then people think you’re a genius but they are scared of you, or you can lay low and coast
Does time play again how it did before the lightning or is everything new and different? You could write it as something reliving what you wanted in the past or doing something you’ve done to regret and changing that
I think it actually teleports you back in time so you are like exactly before in time. But if you do things that are “too different” from what you did previously, then the timeline might change. It could change more the more that you differed from what you did
Oh that’s interesting! I’d like to see how far we can do “different” and what that can do to the timeline. Interesting idea so far :>
I might do a few things differently, but I think it would be more frustrating than helpful. Imagine knowing a bunch of things will happen but not being able to affect (or profit from) its outcome. You won’t be able to prevent wars or terrorist attacks, and you probably won’t be able to convince your parents to buy stock for certain companies as a child.
The only thing you can affect is your immediate personal life, and the more you change it, the less it resembles your previous life. So at some point, you’d be back to making bad choices in the dark, because you don’t know the future anymore.
I think it could work better as interactive fiction if it was like some of those endless light novels/manhwas where the protagonist is betrayed and killed and wakes up a couple months or years prior and now they have time to expose the people that backstabbed them. ![]()
LOVE it! I think I’d be so fun
Honestly what would you want there, like romance, action, uh self fulfilment fantasy?
Honestly I feel like it works better as a book, with IFs there comes a certain level of butterflying and with there being the original timeline. How would that translate into info for the player? do you put it in an information section on the stat page, should the information slowly disappear unless you give the PC perfect memory.
how much does the PC’s actions change the future of the new timeline, not meeting one person does one etc.
I wonder what happened here.
I just deleted it, I was being indecisive on something ![]()
I’ve always been somewhat creative and loved books and narative games. But never thought I was that good at writing. I’ Have this character I made in my early 20’s that I use for everything. Video games, table top you name it. Any way I just started writing down this characters story. I’m just doing a general interest check here. Does anyone like what they see? Or am I wasting my time?
It’s very cool, thenfirst couple images aren’t loading for me and I am forced to ask. Will there be choices included?
Didnt really intend to make it a game. I suck at coding. Never really thought I could be half decent at writting. I just have this story in my head for a character that I created a decade ago and know very well after many hours playing him in countless video games like mount and blade, elder scrolls then dnd. Just felt the need the write it down.

Transmigrated into a cultivation world with a system
Genre: Xianxia, Action, Cultivation and maybe a bit of Murim we will see how I’m feeling
The path to immortality is long and your journey starts from the bottom… actually a place above the bottom.
You’ve transmigrated into the body of a young member of a minor clan, a family with little power or prestige on the empire’s grand stage. When the Imperial sect announces their entrance exams, your clan spends its meager wealth to give you a single shot at glory.
But in a world where only cultivators can rise above their station, there’s just one problem: you were born without the ability to cultivate.
Until the System awakens.
Will you seize this second chance, rise through blood and spirit, or disappear like countless nameless disciples before you?
Features:
-
Choose your clan background (martial or scholarly), shaping your early advantages and story hooks.
-
Customise your character’s style, talents, and personality.
-
Pick your fighting style — blade, talisman, fist, or something else
-
Climb through the sect and earn your place.
-
Raise your cultivation higher to become an immortal.
-
Forge bonds, make enemies, and rise through the sect’s deadly hierarchy.
-
Decide whether the System will be your tool… or your undoing.
You may be wondering why no ROs and if there is romance, yes there will be. You ever played an IF and fall for a non-RO character instead of a RO character well to fix that issue I’ve decided to make every character romanceable…that is a lie I don’t have that in me but you can be friendly with the characters and top 3 of male and females you guys like will be voted upon and be romanceable and stuff.
Disclaimer 2#: All of this stuff is subject to change.
Anyways which choice script game do you see yourself enjoying the most?
- Low class mercenary’s adventure in a fantasy world
- Rookie Hero fakes it till he makes it
- Transmigrated into a cultivation world with a system
I’ll have like a prologue done in a week or 2…probably..
I can hear the drums of liberation in my soul.
