Ok, but that’s really fun! Maybe you can still do something with it? Because that’s a really unique and interesting idea
Honestly, the premise is different enough from mine that you could absolutely still go for it!
I’m planning to have mine be a more low fantasy story with some historical vibes sprinkled in.
This sounds absolutely amazing and I for one, would one hundred percent read it
I’ve been wanting to write for about a couple of years. I’ve never found the time to do so until recently, i have wrote a very short demo but i don’t know if its coherent/readable as I’m not a native english speaker. So, i want someone to take a look before i upload it. pls pm me.
Hey!
Been lurking for a while and started with scripting for a long-term hobby project since january. However, it ended up more complicated than I’d dare to commit more to until I’ve gotten some more experience under my belt. So instead I want to start with something smaller and was wondering if people were interested in seeing it once it’s completed, or perhaps a beta version.
Moderated Chatroom is a shortform murder mystery set almost entirely within an old-fashioned chatroom. You play as a regular person living in a dystopic future, dealing with the everyday struggles with your solace being the connections you’ve made with the people in a small private chatroom. A friend of yours has invited you to it a while ago and is its owner and sole moderator.
However, disaster strikes as you find the corpse of your friend in their own bed. Two days later however, nobody seems to have realised they died; your friend’s appartment is emptied out seemingly overnight and even stranger: your friend’s account is online and acts as if nothing has happened. Worse still, whomever did this has gotten their hands on material that would ruin the lives of your other friends.
What is going on here?
Features
- A trust mechanic, can you break through the walls people have put up in these dangerous times?
- A tension meter: can you avoid suspicion and solve this murder?
- Evidence-collecting, but you can make mistakes and ultimately pin it on the wrong person.
- Multiple endings for each character, will you be a positive or a negative influence on them?
- Achievements (people like that stuff apparently!)
- A cat.
- If ambitious: a randomized culprit mode!
Hi all!
Gonna throw this out there but I am nervous, probably just like every first timer. I have a long way to go in regards to coding but choicescript so far has been a joy to learn! I am by no means a professional writer but I have always enjoyed a variety of stories, but I have a real love for action packed ones, with a bit of romance sprinkled in.
With that out of the way, here is an interest check for an IF I have started, coming close to finishing the prologue.
Summary
The Catalyst:
Your journey begins in a dramatic chase through “The Fringe” - a border region that surrounds a futuristic city which long ago locked itself away from the likes of you. You’ve upset a few people, what you did is up to you to choose. But in this wasteland, the sands do not forget, nor do they forgive. Driving along the ruined highway in your selectable vehicle, you realised they’re closer than you think. What will you do to finally be free? How far are you willing to go? The Fringe has lost its humanity. Will you join it?
Features:
So far I have implemented a complex combat system, which reacts narratively to your weapons and stats. Your stats allow different ways of progressing rather than just brute force. Building your character a certain way determines your capability, with many branches allowing in depth character development. Your character will grow on their journey.
Not too much customisation as yet, but I would love to know if that is something people would want to see. So far it is just eye colour and hairstyle, a few core stats. I plan on adding some more where it makes sense, but for now I wanted to keep the reader hooked in the moment.
As you may tell from what I enjoy, I have put a deep focus on the combat elements and even the vehicle-play, it all feels very “Mad Max” and chaotic. I’ve plotted the full storyline, it’s all just a matter of writing and coding! The player will come across a variety of wacky insane characters all delving to the depths of what people are capable of, and I’ve planned for a selection of ROs that aren’t gender dependent, but will be full of life.
I guess what I’m trying to say is, are there people out there with a penchant for high stakes post-apocalypse (ish) action thrillers?
I love thrillers, no matter the setting.
Sounds awesome!
Hi all, it’s been a very long time since I was on here but, somehow, I have the urge to write IF again.
What I’m Considering Working On
Tentatively titled Westbound Knight, a dark fantasy-western inspired by the Dark Tower series, various Soulsborne games, and Luka Rejec’s amazing TTRPG Ultraviolet Grasslands and the Black City. In it the reader plays as a wanderer whose memories are scattered, and vague, who finds themselves either agreeing to or pressed into a quest to go west, to where the Empress Eternal used to sit on her Numinous Throne. The world is dying, time and space breaking down, history and memory untrustworthy, and no new Authority has been bestowed, no new monarch has been created, in an age. Seek the west. Save the world.
Where it’s at and what is in it.
Still very in its infancy, a few tens of thousands of words in only, although I am considering more, and have a rough outline of what is to come. Gender-choice, although it’s not super important, more tilted towards what I would consider a novelistic approach and not super focused on stats, as it only has two, but with many opportunities, hopefully, for your sad cowboy-knight character to decide how they feel about their quest and the dying world. There will be romance, thinking four ROs, with characters like the Dragon-Eating Knight or one of the Last Princes of the Known World, with a wide variety of weird-west genres and alternative endings. Thoughts? Interest?
I think you need to add a “hell yes” option to that poll.
Hello everyone!
This is going to be my first ChoiceScript game. After months of practicing with the language, I’m announcing my WIP.
To put it simply, imagine Ben 10 x Venom x Green Lantern, resulting in :
Guardians Of Unity : Unweaved
Set in the Guardians of Unity Universe (My own creation, set to be represented in multiple types of media), you will play as Unit 775, an inhabitant of the planet Vanthein, as you take your first steps in your new life. Said new life will have you :
Explore multiple planets, and meet alien species who will see you as either a beacon of hope, or a dangerous liability. It will be up to you to prove them right, or wrong.
Fight the Corrupted, victims of a scientific conspiracy that preys on the weak for their biological experiments, and find a way to cure them, or spare them a painful existence.
Fight using your Symbiote’s powers. Two packs with different DNA samples will be made available to you, and the one you choose will grow alongside you as you also grow closer to your Symbiote.
Become a space pilot, aboard your own cruiser with personalized name and equipment. Will you be fighting pirates in space? Rescuing people in need? Or simply racing other ships?
The player will have a choice of name and pronouns for themselves, but also for a few important characters.
**PLANNED FEATURES**
-
A skill tree system that hinges on Genetic Nodules as currency.
- A relationship system with your symbiote that will influence some story outcomes, and give you access to special powers.
-
A diegetic shop for equipment, located in the stats screen.
*An inventory system that will let you track the items you have bought and obtained during your adventures. -
A condition system in place of a health bar : Inspired by the Tales to Inspire role-playing game, the player can earn conditions, such as “Wounded,” “Burned,” and more, which will affect the story in certain moments, and allow for a trump card.
- Condition Overload will make you and your symbiote go into a sort of berserk rage, which might help in fighting situations, or endanger you when calm is most needed. This double edged sword will also be your last chance, as if you obtain a condition while in overload, you will die.
- A dynamic death scene system. Death is beautiful, death is the bliss of letting go, and each death, depending on your location and conditions, will be different, and beautiful.
- A dynamic glossary that will keep players up to speed on all the relevant terms as they are discovered in the story.
I think the whole space shifter thing is something I’d love to see.
Okay I got something brewing. Title is TBD but its gender locked to a female.
The MC is a vampire who is saved by her father through witchcraft, becoming a vampire. Every day she learns more about vampirism and realizes she’d rather die than stay one.
But her father keeps her alive, no matter what. To the point where he himself is killed. Basically its a vampire who wants to die but can’t do it herself. Preservation.
So she becomes as evil and as strong as possible so someone can kill her.
Roughly the idea.
Dark fantasy and Salem Witch
Very interesting idea! I hope there’s a way to get a happy ending though
Technically her happy ending would be death.
Bittersweet ending would be the disney princess style where a prince or a hero saves her…
The bad ending would be her alive with no one able to kill her. Castlevania i suppose.
Hello! This is my first IF that I’m creating after being a longtime lurker. I’m looking for feedback about the story and if it makes sense/interests anyone or if there could be changes made to the synopsis.
SYNOPSIS
You’re a vampyr.
Ancient. Powerful. And—by every tale—undeniably dangerous.
The media delights in painting your “fictional” kind as ravenous beasts: undead creatures who seek the thrill of a kill. But after centuries of living as such a creature, you’ve learned that life is far more peaceful when you simply learn to mind your own business.
This century, you’ve taken on a new role as a history teacher at a high school. It’s a recent endeavor, but one you’ve taken to with enthusiasm. Sharing knowledge, after all, is one of the few joys left in your long, undead life.
Though lately, a string of disappearances begins to shake the community, where at the scene of each crime, a black bacarra rose is left behind—a rare flower in which you used to bloom in the years long before.
You think nothing of it at first, content to leave the investigation to the humans.
But then a colleague of yours goes missing.
And the next morning, you find a black rose at your desk, accompanied with a note—your name scrawled in red and a message to pair:
I dine in silence, no teeth to bare,
A kiss so soft, you’re unaware.
I’m drawn to red, where skin gives way,
No heart, no soul, just a thirst to stay.
What am I?
I’ll tell you —
I. am. a. leech.
FEATURES
- Play as an ancient and powerful vampyr who is caught in the centre of a dangerous game of cat and mouse.
- Customise your vampyr’s gender, pronouns, appearance and more.
- Romance one of four characters: your colleague’s replacement, an old acquaintance, an overworked private eye or a star reporter.
- Dig into the case of your missing colleague and learn why o’ why they disappeared.
- Pretend to be human. Attend dinners. Go to prom. Hallucinate the past.
- Oh, and do try not to expose yourself as an ancient, all powerful immortal. There are some people out there who would have your head for that.
ROMANCE
01. Lysandra/Lysand Morvain [F/M] — a dead lover’s doppelganger
A substitute teacher who arrived at the school to fill the role of your missing colleague. A person who just so happens to bear a striking resemblance to someone you once loved dearly—from the velvet timbre in their voice to the whiteness of their hair.
They’re graceful and polite, always moving and speaking with deliberate precision. You find their every word measured, their every gesture purposeful. It’s difficult not to fall under their quiet charm.
But they have told you a lie. One you might have believed, had it not been for the beat of their lying heart.
02. Virena/Viren “Vee” Kaelric [F/M] — friend or foe?
You’ve known them for as long as memory serves. In the centuries that you’ve known them, you have never been able to discern what they truly think of you—whether you are their friend or foe.
They would appear at odd hours just to insult you, vanish without explanation, only to return with a scowl to ensure you were still upright and breathing.
It’s been close to three years since you last saw them, but that’s no surprise. They’ve always had a tendency to stray.
What does come as a surprise, however, is when you abruptly find them at your doorstep—bloody, bruised and scowling.
03. Quinn Halloway [F/M] — the ever watchful eye
A former private investigator who thought they’d closed the case on that chapter of their life. But when someone comes knocking on their door to collect a favour, they suddenly find themself dragged back into the game and into the middle of an investigation they want nothing to do with.
They’re dry and reserved, rarely ever saying more than they have to. But beneath their facade of indifference is a watchful eye and a quiet determination—out of care for the victims or for simply a need to settle a debt, you’re not sure.
All you know is that they can’t wait for it to be over. Preferably before the real trouble begins.
04. Tyla/Tyrone Weyland [F/M] — a star reporter…and the mayor’s darling child
They’re a star reporter who’s had a sharp eye on the case since the first disappearance.
Ask the mayor about their child, and she’ll sing their praises to you. But ask anyone else who knows them, and they’ll tell you you’re better off without them—that they’re a vulture, always circling for the next scoop.
They’re working with Quinn to uncover the truth of the disappearances, and they’ll stop at nothing to get them.
But behind all their bravado, and all their charm and humour, you see them for what they are—a scared human who’s strangely desperate for answers.
I’m a bit confused by this… did the MC spawn from a flower?
Lol im pretty sure they meant that the MC use to grow them… but that is one heck of a thought.
Sorry for the confusion! It’s meant that MC used to bloom or grow those flowers. English is not my mother tongue so any help in reducing confusion would be helpful!
You never know with mythological creatures, so it’s best to verify.
No worries, mine either.
