Hello all! I’ve been lurking the forum for some years and decided to come out of my shell a little. I started this idea back in 2022 after binging TWC and FHR and many others and thought I’d give it a go. Since the end '22 though I haven’t been able to put as much effort into the story until earlier this year and progress has gone really well and I feel I’m finally in a place where I’m comfortable enough to share. (I’m not good at summaries so I hope this is okay)

Working title: Folie Imposèe

Genre: Low modern fantasy. Thriller. Horror. Romance and friendship.

You’re just another 30-year-old who’s stuck in a dead-end job in a struggling economy. Up until now your life has been relatively uneventful. That is until a seemingly ordinary package arrives in the mail bringing the supernatural right to your doorstep and opening up a side of the world you had no idea existed.
Amid the chaos it quickly comes to your attention that a powerful underground cult has its sights set solely on you. And as if things couldn’t get any stranger, the sudden reappearance of your estranged identical twin feels almost too convenient to be mere coincidence.
With the help of an infernal private investigator, you’re going to get to the truth of the matter, whether you like or not.

Deimos Ballantyne. M. Mid 30s
Cambion
The infernal private investigator. Deimos is easygoing and confident. While he’s a patient person and is driven to help others Deimos is not the most emotionally available person. He often deflects and hides his personal feelings behind humor and wit.

Emil Nordlund. M. Mid 30s
Turned shapeshifter
Emil is the most subdued. Being quiet and reserved at first glance, once he feels comfortable around someone he becomes quite lively and talkative. With a high attention to detail Emil is usually the first to notice when someone close to him is having a difficult time. He’s caring and tends to offer comfort to those he thinks would accept it.

Awaou Mondesir. F. Looks to be early 30s
Dhampir
Awa is confident, intelligent, and headstrong. When she sets a goal she sees it through to the very end. She’s not one to open up to others easily, and much less to people who have a normal human life span. To the few friends she does have she is loyal almost to a fault.

Ciar. F. Looks to be early 30s
Fallen infernal
Ciar is passionate and protective, the first to crack a joke to try and lighten the mood. She has an aura of unwavering optimism even in dire circumstances. She is wholly devoted to those close to her and tends to hyper focus on the good in everyone around her even if they don’t deserve it.
(Ciar is a lesbian)

Rhea Velasco. F. Mid 30s. MC’s roommate.

Additional notes

Demon → infernal
I dislike opposing personality stats so none are planned at the moment. Instead there will different types of tracked choices, and other choices will be for flavor only.
Also because Ciar is a lesbian she will be locked for some players which made me think about adding another RO but at the same time that’s a lot of coding to consider. Rhea could be the other RO but there is something in her storyline that may make that very unappealing for some.
(*)This would also have a lot of code to consider. I’m not trans so I also don’t want to misrepresent what it means to people who are.
While the overall story and what happens to MC is quite dark and depressing, and the attitude MC has is being chosen by the player, what I want to emphasize over the story is overcoming hardship. Despite set backs and irreversible negative consequences outside of MCs control there is still hope and that tomorrow is always a new day. With the help of MCs new friend of course :3
One more thing! While in my mind Folie is 2 books it can and probably will be a standalone, unless there’s demand for a 2nd book. For the standalone some things will inevitably remain a mystery.

Hello! I’ve been lurking since 2017, but I wasn’t sure how this old-style forum worked, which got me a bit confused. This is my first post (or reply?).

I’ve been messing around with CSIDE lately and wanted to share my story idea. Hopefully, this is the right place.

The setting is magitek, so it’s sci-fi, but instead of tech, you use magic. For example, imagine fighting a dragon in a flying car powered by pixie dust, or something like that.

You’d play as a golemdroid, a magical automaton (instead of a gender selection, I’d have the player choose their clothing), who serves a noble girl dreaming of joining the adventurers guild.

The adventurers guild is filled with superhero-esque people with unique powers who take on commissions.

As for stats, I’m thinking of implementing a traits/perks system. So, instead of numbers, you get traits. For example, instead of “Combat: 100%” or “Coercion: 100%,” you might pick the trait “Murderous.” This trait would mean you automatically win all combat encounters and intimidation checks, but you could be barred from taking the “Diplomatic” trait. I think this approach would be more immersive.

Inspirations: Fallout:New Vegas, Steel Rising, Green Hornet, Batman, Tally Ho! Black Butler, My Hero Academia, a bit of Warhammer 40K, and isekai anime.

SIGN ME THE FUCK UP. A cultivation game?! Holy shit! What kind of cultivation paths are you going to offer? Are Qi-Deviations going to be something we have to prepare/plan for?! Omg, I cannot WAIT

Having done the research on this, if your neck doesn’t snap on the initial drop, you suffocate the rest of the time, possibly with a crushed trachea. EASILY survivable, as there’s plenty of time for someone to do some rescuing.

We need more of this in IFs. Honestly. I love me some fuckin Isekai man. I do have a bit of an issue with her age. You’re gonna need to find good reasoning for her to still be eligible as an Imperial Consort if she’s 22 before she enters the palace. Based on the research I’ve done, most concubine’s to be entered the palace between the ages of 15-18, even if the ruler didn’t actually sleep with them until they were adults. (but I’d suggest doing your own research on this too, so that you can figure out how you wanna get around that! It’s a fantasy story, I’m sure there’s justifications!)

Hello! I’ve been a past lurker of the forum for quite a while now, but recently finally made an account to start work on my own game. I have a main WiP that I’ve slowly been developing throughout the weeks (I’m aiming for an October demo debut), and while it’ll always be my primary focus, there’s a recent IF idea that sprung to my mind that I couldn’t forget since, so here goes;

So, it’s a bit barebones. Haven’t really explored it too deeply yet but I really wanted it to be romance-focused like my main WiP. That’s all their similarities though since I kinda envision Jinx Cam! to be more comedic (almost to the point that it’s surreal) in tone, while also still going ham with the horror. That said, I’m highly interested in exploring the phenomenon of parasocial interactions and their effect on and hold over internet figures, just in a more paranormal setting.

That’s about it! For those whose attention have been piqued, I’m interested in your thoughts.

I already have some ideas.

• kitchens and staff capable of preparing any cuisine in the world from finest cuisine to fast food

• chauffeured bulletproof limousines

• an army of hundreds of servants and bodyguards

• museums housing art from all over the world

• libraries housing newspapers books and historical documents from all over the world

• a harem filled with fine men and women

• private jets and offices with state-of-the-art communication equipment and custom-made world maps

• and of course the finest Georgian wine and Persian cats

Hi I wanted to check for any interest in my idea for an interactive fiction. It’s called Red River Academy, it’s a bit of slice of life with some mystery seasoning and a tiny dash of time looping shenanigans depending on your choices.

The premise is this you have been used as an unwilling ritual sacrifice. However someone is willing to give you another chance, as long as you agree to their whims.

In Red River Academy you’ll be able to chose one of three supernatural races, become a revenant, a zombie or a banshee (sorry your dead)

Take part in battle to climb the academy ranks and go from a nobody to a somebody

Join a club and learn skills

Use random and bizarre weapons

Make friends and even find romance among other super naturals at the academy

Seek revenge, wreak havoc, or do nothing and enjoy your unlife
