Interest Check Thread

Hi!

You will.

I plan on adding many career paths, each with their own events and unique gameplay features. Whilst these will be talked about at a later date, they’re definitely on the roadmap!

So is this going to be a long book?

This isn’t a ‘book’ or traditional story-led ChoiceScript title.

This is much more game than story. It’s designed to run month by month and take you through events until your character inevitably dies.

So I don’t pull away from other people, though, I’d be glad to answer questions in DMs!

Hello everyone,

As I am now reaching a stage in my current project that I will be waiting on feedback before adjusting anything, I am looking to start another project as I wait. This next project would be something along the lines of a continuous story that uses paid DLC to continue it as opposed to a full story with added sequels. Something like JimD’s ZE series. I have five ideas in mind and while I have reason not to use one or two of them I am hoping for feedback on interest in these other projects.

The Space Opera/Western - I don’t know what this story would really be categorized as but the opening moments make me think of a Space Western but there is plenty of galactic war in the background.

The sports mecha one seems interesting, we don’t get a lot of mecha stories and also I love have the plot looks like something out of an anime, like some waiter/waitress finds a powerful abandon mech and uses it to go into competitions and rise threw the sports world, like tell this is not an anime plot waiting to happen

Title: The Shadowbane Samurai

In a samurai world which was always in constant wars against each other and the dragons. A brave samurai fell in love and birth a child with one of the seven divine beasts, a dragon known as Zepherion, the Shadowbane Dragon. Their child (Hiroshi Yamato) grew up to become a powerful warrior and a mediator in the war that united the five different nations, they referred to him as the “Bushido’ichi” (the protector of the five nations). It was said that the only weapon that could harm him, was his spear. He led the united alliance of the five nations in the war against dragons, after rising from the slums of his nation, Onagawa, where he grew up as a bastard street rat, aspiring to be a samurai.

After the mysterious disappearance of Zepherion, the alliance pushed forward and wiped out the Shadowbane dragons. Their victory however was short-lived as they were oblivious to the curse of the Shadowbane dragon, known as the Kage māku (shadow mark), a mark that is etched into the soul of anyone ignorant enough to slay a Shadowbane. The ones who bear this mark are bound to slowly but surely turn into powerful vessels of the soul of the shadow-bane dragon that was killed.

After the war, Hiroshi was praised across the continent as the great leader, who put a stop to the 100-year war between the samurai and the dragons, he rose in ranks and was eventually made the Shogun of Onagawa.

Fujin, one of the two advisors and right-hand men of Hiroshi sought to get him killed and take his position. Knowing that Hiroshi was born with the shadow mark as a result of his father being a divine Shadowbane, Fujin made Hiroshi implement a rule, a rule which stated that anyone found with a shadow mark was to be executed immediately to avoid the rebirth of the dreaded shadow-bane dragons.

On the day of your birth, Fujin suggested to Hiroshi that a celebration be held for your birth. He saw it as a good idea and agreed to hold the celebration, inviting the five nations. During the celebrations, Fujin embraced Hiroshi in front of everyone, before ripping off Hiroshi’s clothes, making everyone see his shadow mark and ordering his arrest. A vote was passed amongst the daimyo of Onagawa for Hiroshi to be executed. Hiroshi realizing Fujin’s plans to usurp him, accepted his faith and only begged for his child to be spared, but after seeing the extent of Fujin’s reach he could only send a message across to your mother before the day of his execution to deliver you to his second advisor, Kenshi, who swore on the day of your birth to protect you.

Kenshi fulfilled his promise and spent the next sixteen years raising you, away from Onagawa and the five nations. He trained and prepared you every day as you chased your dream of becoming a legendary samurai like your Icon who was known as the Bushido’ichi during the Dragon War. While training to become a samurai, you are soon to find out the true identity of your icon.

sounds intriguing, can’t wait

So will we be able to choose our nationality, also if we can and choose a country with a monarchy could we join the royal family of said country?

Hello everyone! New user here. I have been writing as a passion for several years now, and I finally want to give choice of games a shot. I am brewing in my head a new Dark Romance themed game.

The setting is simple: as a person that desperately needs to find a job to support yourself in life, you get offered a peculiar position: be the Housekeeper of Blackwood Manor. The Blackwoods are a mystery all on their own: a noble family whose past is bathed in blood and shadows.

What I will offer:

  • Four (or more?) unique love interests, whose genders will change based on player preference.

  • Choose your gender: male, female or nonbinary.

  • Choose your sexuality: play as straight, gay or bi.

  • The main character’s personality stats will be defined by the choices they make.

  • Character driven story with a strong focus on romance and mystery.

Let me know your thoughts, please!

Sounds interesting. Are you planning to do this in a historical or modern setting?

Tell us more about the mystery.

Hello! Thank you. This is definitely going to be an historical setting-- I was thinking England, late Victorian era.
As for the mystery… it seems that all previous maids and housekeepers have vanished into thin air.

And each of the siblings is going to have secrets of their own. The youngest cannot leave the Manor, for example, and it’s rumored it’s because they have killed a person… or more than one.

I still have a lot to plan, though!

Seems like a pretty interesting start. You can try writing out a chapter or two, and post it as a WIP thread.

This sounds great! I love historical romance and mysteries. Especially Victorian, though I personally prefer the early Victorian era. Bustle skirts are not my favorite style :joy:
