Hey guys!

I’ve been playing with an idea for a while and am considering turning it into a Hosted Game. I am a Wattpad Star, with a couple of popular books there, and really want to try my hand at interactive fiction (I loved choose your own adventure books when I was young).

The pitch:

Your mother is missing. Not dead, no. There was no body. And even when the investigators said that they had to assume the worst, you never gave up. You’re determined to find your mother and the best place to start is by retracing her steps, searching for El Dorado.

Three years later, you’ve finally had the funding for your first solo archaeological dig. It’s up to you, with the help of Doctor Scott, famed anthropologist, to create a team for the expedition to Colombia. Little did you know there is more than a competition for its discovery. There’s more at stake here. Because if you fail, you may lose your mother forever.

Magic, long since forgotten, threatens to awaken and destroy everything in its path.

The setting: A parallel, urban fantasy type world. Begins in the US and ends in Colombia.

I love romance so this would definitely be heavily romanced based, which is where most of the choices would be, with lots of mystery, adventure, and magic mixed in. And plenty of twists. You’d be able to choose the gender of yourself, your companions, your appearance, your personality, etc.

Love interests (as of right now):

Doctor Lucas/Laia Scott (Scotty) (m/f) (RO)
Doctor Scott is an Oxford University professor and colleague. Tall and thin, with terrible eyesight and an accent that people fall all over themselves to hear. They’re brilliant, well-spoken, and incredibly kind. They’re good looking in the kind of way that is easily overlooked. With soft, pale eyes, a kind smile, and a slightly crooked nose.

Sal/Sophia Garcia (m/f) (RO)

They’re the jokester of the group and have a hard time being serious. But they carry a natural charisma and make friends easily, which makes them the perfect translator and tour guide, especially as a native Columbian. They’re average height, with a mop of dark hair, and large, warm brown eyes that perfectly complement their brown skin.

Blake Corbin (m/f) (RO)

You met Blake during your last year of college on an expedition in the Himilayas. They were the hired muscle, and from what you gather, ex-military. Though you can’t be certain as you’ve never meant someone more cagey about their past than Blake. You managed to track down their information after receiving the grant and hire them to come with you. They’re incredibly tall, with thick corded muscle on every inch of their body and grey eyes that see more than they let on.

Other characters (for right now):

Your mother, including flashbacks to define your relationship with her.

Tally Ingram, your competition, stubborn and downright rude.

Kate Blancher, basically the expedition mother and your assistant. In charge of medicine, supplies, travel plans, and keeping you out of trouble.

A mysterious shadow who seems to show up right when you need it.

Since you’re going to add another character to balance out the genders, I encourage you to take the opportunity to balance out personalities, as well.

Right now, you’ve presented two female characters and their fatal flaws are: a) being too naive and emotional and b) being too vain, which I feel kind of plays into stereotypes about women.

That’s not to say you cannot write those characters, but I’m sure readers would appreciate having a more independent/powerful/badass female character — kind of like a female Elliot.

I’ve begun work on a HG I’m calling “Not Your Mother’s Shire.” I have a little less than 10k words written, but I’ve spent four-ish weeks worldbuilding and learning Choice Script. As the title suggests (I hope!), it’s a fantasy adventure with heavy comedic elements–think Terry Pratchett’s Discworld or Douglas Adam’s Hitchhiker (although that’s more space opera) series.

I’m containing the setting to a single large island-continent (think Australia) called Asmar, composed of 5 duchies, each marked by a radically different climate. The context is that, years ago, six dragons conquered the five duchies of Asmar. One dragon ruled each duchy while the sixth, the oldest and largest, roved between them as lord over all. Recently, the sixth dragon went missing, destablizing the ruling structure. Dragonfall rebels seek to overthrow the draconic rule and the Dragonsworn who uphold it. These are not your typical dragons. For instance, the jungle duchy native to the human tribes is ruled by a frog-dragon modeled after the Cheshire cat–riddles and such; the snow duchy native to snow elves is ruled by a snow-wyrm; the coastal duchy native to nautical halflings is ruled by a dragon-turtle; the sand duchy native to desert dwarves is ruled by a scorpion-drake; and the swamp duchy native to half-orcs is ruled by a spider-wyvern. As each dragon rules differently, according to their personality, the player will decide on a case-by-case basis whether and how to support the Dragonfall, Dragonsworn, neither, or both in different ways.

PC character generation includes all genders and orientations as well as 5 playable races, all mentioned above. I want to structure the game around a hub-model, like VtM: Night Road did, so that zones can be completed in separate order at different tiers. (Does anyone know how to do that?) I’m redesigning my stats page since, after my pitch was rejected by CoG, I am now subject only to my own weird whimsy. I’m up for strange and unusual suggestions. Originally, I used opposed physical stats I thought were funny, like Charisma vs Intelligence, Energy vs Wisdom, Concentration vs ADH-Whee! . . . For the powers section, I had been going with opposed magical attunements in trees like MtA, e.g. Destruction vs Restoration, Illusion vs Matter . . . This would remain regardless of class, e.g. a warrior’s magic might manifest as enhancements. I’m telling the story in 2nd person, with choices written in 1st.

I’m most excited about the NPCs since I’ve come to believe that, being largely fixed, the burden of much of the worldbuilding and central narrative rests on their shoulders. I have 6 player-sexual romanceable NPCS varied across race and faction, each with their own arc, and have plotted 10-ish dates with each. Don’t freak out–many are incidental. For instance, the first five for each are friendship-level and you’re mostly helping with whatever they happen to be doing in that particular terrain, e.g. what is the ranger doing in the snow duchy? Do you want to go with them? So, time is allotted for travel between and through duchies where relationships become the focus. Plot-wise, without spoiling too much, there are four-ish endings planned, each with some variation. Essentially they are: support the dragons and serve them; support the dragons and rule them; overthrow the dragons and reinstate monarchy (with the proper forms, of course); or become the dragons (!).

I guess I’ve gone on a while, so, for now–1 question (cart way before the horse): I want to commission a comic artist to do a bunch of illustrations (aligning w/tone and genre, of course). Does anyone know the limitations of file size and/or format? Wanting to give them some runway if I go with someone known. Sometimes they have queues for up to a year! Other than that, I’d really love to hear from the community: thoughts, feelings, ideas, monstrosities . . . Cheers! And thanks for reading this much!

Hello everyone after reading many greek mythology based books I’m finally ready to make one of my own it’s called olympus high the titans return.

So basically the gods built a school for the demi gods to attend as they train them to fight titans mc is the secret child of Hades king of the underworld. After their village is destroyed by forces loyal to the titans the professors rescue mc and bring mc to olympus high.

There’s a great danger awakening within the earth and only mc is powerful enough to stop this great evil romance options are still being thinked about but I have two in mind already.

This is a post relating to my earlier one about my ideas for the potential whip “Colossal Sentient Space Warship”. It’s a whip I’m not able to produce at this time, tho I am considering trying to write some of the narrative in a readable form. If I can accomplish this in a reasonable timeframe I’ll give programming the whip a try.

In the meantime I promised months ago to expand on a local impact feature I’d come up with.

Next up is idealogy. This would represent a psychological disposition which would define your Primitive Race’s(hence forth refered to as PR) views toward Alien life. This would grant a trait determining much of your PRs goals in the major form, and serve as narrative flavor in the minor form. The subject has lot of potential interpretation.

The obvious example being Xenophobia.“Millennia of witnessing your countless minor skirmishes against all manner of interstellar life have culminated into a natural distrust of those not born under the light of (input solar body name)”.

Next up we have Planetary. This is essentially granting your PR a special trait do to your literal direct impact on the planet. The basic premise is that you were not able to entirely prevent collateral damage to the planet by enemy(or occasionally your own) ordinance.

A Major example would be “Genetic Mutation”. "Repeated exposure to Gamma radiation has resulted in a variety of mutant gene strains. Over time these strains have normalized into common physical traits, resulting in segregation into specialist Subspecies, and general inequality.

A minor example would be “Structural Reinforcement”. “Millennia of sporadic bombardment having exasperated the planet’s tectonic activity has resulted in an emphasis on durable structures and dense materials in your PR’s Technology.”

first time posting on this forum…and writing a full story…please go easy on me

I’ve been thinking about making a short choice script story after my exams this year and practice writing while I’m at it.

I got a small rough idea and I’d like some help on how to expand it.

General Plot:

The world takes places in a low-fantasy setting, similar to an RPG but and most common types of magic are your standard ones: Earth, Fire, Water, Air, Dark (Summoning) and Light (Healing).

The hero is a Mary Sue, or rather, they act like a Mary Sue. Rich, delusional and self-centred, they think that the world revolves around them. What’s worst is that they have enough power to do so.

One day, there’s this lord that mastered all forms of magic, summoning demons throughout the entire continent, wanting to watch society burn and make a new one.

Willingly or not, the MC is dragged along with the hero to stop the lord.

The MC can choose the reason to help was due to the future prospects helping a rich influencial figure, maybe it could be from infactuation, maybe blackmail by the hero’s friend, or it could be because they just want to kill some bloodthristy demons. (Still thinking of more reasons)

The focus for the story is less on the world building and plot but more on the dynamics between a ‘Mary Sue’-like character with the different people around them, and how they grow along the way.

I don’t want to focus much on relationship stats much, but more on how the characters react and play off each other in circumstances that forces them to be together. Where actions of the characters speak much louder than words.

So…yeah! That’s the general gist of the start of the story, I really like to work on making (hopefully) complex characters and would really like somes tips on how I could further improve on this idea.

I like that idea, even more so the relationship stats. It’s kind of annoying how relationship stats basically force you to keep picking one specific character to be able to be able to so much as do anything.

I also like the idea of having an MC who can back their words as an pompous fool. Nearly every time, those kinds of characters are all talk, and that’s kind of boring.

However, your life isn’t all glamour, you usually have to deal with very strange and souls. But you can’t deny, you should’ve noticed that one particular soul was different from the rest, but you only realised after a group of vampires trashed your home and an angel appeared spouting nonsense – and proclaiming that you had accidentally guided a 𝐒𝐎𝐋𝐃 𝐒𝐎𝐔𝐋.

Armed with only your shiny powers, a staff – which you admit, is very good for hitting people – and a bunch of useless idiots, you have to find the 𝐒𝐎𝐋𝐃 𝐒𝐎𝐔𝐋 and return it to the 𝐎𝐖𝐍𝐄𝐑 before the 𝐎𝐖𝐍𝐄𝐑 finds out and blows up the universe. Great.

𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐬.

𝐄𝐋𝐃𝐄𝐑 –
A usually highly-regarded faery, they are honoured by having the ability to summon tree spirits whenever they need, this is especially useful because tree spirits are experts at catapulting fruit and splinters at enemies.

𝐅𝐎𝐑𝐆𝐎𝐓𝐓𝐄𝐍 𝐅𝐎𝐑𝐄𝐒𝐓 –
The forgotten forest is the place where a soul forgets everything about themselves, beside their happiest memory and their name. Un-guided souls often get lost within the forest, for if you aren’t with an 𝐄𝐋𝐃𝐄𝐑, you’ll never find the way out.

𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐆𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐓 𝐕𝐀𝐋𝐋𝐄𝐘 𝐎𝐅 𝐀𝐅𝐓𝐄𝐑 –
When souls have been guided, the 𝐄𝐋𝐃𝐄𝐑 leaves them at the entrance, for they cannot come in without being relieved of their title. Souls can only come if they aren’t a 𝐒𝐎𝐋𝐃 𝐒𝐎𝐔𝐋, but there are little protections against this, as it isn’t common an 𝐄𝐋𝐃𝐄𝐑 accidentally guides a 𝐒𝐎𝐋𝐃 𝐒𝐎𝐔𝐋 here.

𝐒𝐎𝐋𝐃 𝐒𝐎𝐔𝐋 –
These are the souls of beings who sold their soul for sex, riches, fame, etc.
Once they die, they are taken to the 𝐎𝐖𝐍𝐄𝐑, and spend the rest of their days being forced to work for the 𝐎𝐖𝐍𝐄𝐑. Nobody knows what conditions they work in, but most speak of dungeons and hours of being whipped while they do manual labour.

𝐎𝐖𝐍𝐄𝐑 –
His entire existence is sometimes unknown, nobody has seen him, not even a 𝐒𝐎𝐋𝐃 𝐒𝐎𝐔𝐋. He usually wears a hooded cape, and is said to have two large horns jutting from each side of his head. Most angels compare him to Lucifer, but Lucifer usually is quite offended by this and it causes the odd war or two.

You chose the gal because of her tragic name? Well jokes on you, she’s not entirely tragic! More like murderous and easy to tick off! Yay!

Really motherly, like mother, we ain’t gonna even talk about how she makes awesome chicken soup. I wouldn’t suggest using “motherfucker” as a way of flirting with her, she doesn’t exactly like swearing.

• She’s like a warm blanket that is also slowly trying to suffocate me by hugging me too tightly.
• Generous as hell, just ask sweetly and you’ll be having double helpings for life.
• Try not to complain about her cooking or swear, if you don’t want her to chase you around with her frying pan.
