Out of curiosity… I’ve encountered countless WIPs consisting of serious or dark(er) themes, story-wise, and I am curious as to the appetite for less serious games. Character-focused and lighthearted/humorous stories, ideally without sacrificing choice importance and engaging story, tend to be my favourites. Are such games generally regarded with equal interest to serious ones? Is there a market for them, so to speak?
