I want to know how many non-native English Speakers love these games!

I’m Brazilian!

It’s really challenging to write a piece of interactive fiction—that can be as long as half a million words—as a non-native speaker. When I wrote Highlands, Deep Waters with @MahatmaDagon, being both of us Brazilians, I had the feeling that we kept missing a lot of typos and grammar mistakes. I still have this feeling to this day.

It’s cool to know that there are so many non-native speakers who enjoy HG/CoG titles :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

I’m Senegalese.

A country located in the Northwest part of Africa. Over here we pretty much learn a bunch of languages throughout our school years (English, spanish, portuguese, french, dutch, arabic…) but i wasn’t really fluent in english It was quite difficult to understand half of the Books i read when i first discovered COG. But over the years i became fluent because i have read almost all of COG and HG’s libraries. I’m really hooked. And i don’t think i will stop reading these Books anytime soon XD

Does anyone know where I can find the Spanish translation of “Choice of the Dragon,” or any other ChoiceScript games in translation? I am a native English speaker, but I would love to use these games to improve my knowledge of another language, as so many of you have.

Swedish!

I’m Russian. My English was very clumsy when I was a teen and I struggled with Wayhaven severely, but it got better. Now I can fully enjoy all the library of HG and CoGs.

@JBento That’s a pity-heart, that doesn’t count!

I’m Filipino-Japanese. I didn’t expect that there are also some Japanese and Filipino readers here. I just decided to join the community recently after so many months (12months or 13) being a spectator. I love most of the stories here, and I hope this community and the company itself will stay longer, like more decades. :heart:

Filipino with bad English and horrifying grammar. Found COG games by chance and I have enjoyed playing text games to pass the time.
