I could never tell Mira to KHS I don’t want Elya to lose more people she loves. I could usurp her and put her in jail, but not that. Mira’s the only one Elya has left. The least complicated of Elya’s familial relationships.
On my Bastard Queen main she is cordial with everyone to build healthy relationships and builds up Elya to be strong and warm. Before burning it all away chasing what she thinks she needs to be fulfilled. I say fulfilled because she doesn’t believe she can be happy.
How, because I have been religiously following every guide I’ve seen posted and failed every single time on the final battle with my Weapon’s Marshal, even after the updates. It’s making me want to pull my hair out. What’s your army overview look like?
The Marshal himself has stated he will never forgive her for what she have done so yeah what you’re saying about her respect is true, but at the very least you can make a compromise with her at some point in the future.
But not Elya in any case. She’s the closest to Sobik out of all the rest and if she’s at 0 strength she’ll weep with Mira at the funeral. Or i may be wrong and maybe it’s just unconditional love for her father but nonetheless it’s still highly unlikely Sobik abuses her
At high Vedran Respect, a redemption arc seems almost certain (if he survives Chapter 10)–he is apologetic in the throne room and wants to commit suicide-by-Marshal because he believes it will fix the mess he made. And he does accept his verbal lumps from a rightfully-furious Elya (she is furious on both the Marshal’s behalf and her own, and the only difference here between Warm Elya and Cold Elya is the word choice), and understands why the Marshal doesn’t forgive him (there are different ways to say it, but not forgiving Vedran at high respect seems baked into the Marshal).
Abusers in the real world don’t abuse every member of their family. I suspect Sobik kept his hands to himself (if he even wanted to beat them) around his trueborn children, but Mira and the Marshal were fair game.
I’m pretty sure it was emotional abuse (as well as a lifetime of being seen as a “spare”, not that it excuses his later actions). Also, check out the Chapter 5 flashback for something very interesting about Vedran.
Yeah there’s no doubt Belos and Elya weren’t abused considering they’re his most eligible heir for the throne but Vedran? Idk but it seems to me it’s more of mental abuse more than anything, he’s been ignored by his father since in his letter states it was the fault of his teachings and most likely have been manipulated by both Mira and Sobik, and he didn’t exactly had the rage that Belos has when they were planning in ch2 he just followed whatever Belos says and do.
Cold Ellie will literally spook and surprise the MC at the end. Im not going to tell what she said but it’s so damn savage and cold to the point that even the Marshal freaked out about of it. It’s sad to see too since the Marshal have always known her as this cheerful little girl but after that it solidifies his fear and regret of making her act the same way as he is, molding her into a cold-blooded ruler
I am hoping there is a Vedran redemption arc. My Marshal actually felt sorry for him. He’s part of a dysfunctional family, got shit on by Sobik (just like the Marshal), and all the jealousy seems to be from a feeling that he was basically disowned–just like the Marshal.
In the demo, my marshal cut his eye out and was quite unforgiving, but she’s developed into someone more forgiving than that (except for Mira, who she will never forgive, anyway). In that scene in the cell, she told him that saying he’s sorry wouldn’t get him out of the cell. He didn’t get bitchy, he just laughed and said he’ll have to try better next time. It was actually a pretty cute scene, and felt like it was two fucked-up siblings relating to each other (likewise before Belos’s sally when my Marshal stuck her tongue out at him and he returned the gesture).
Personally, I’d love to see the Marshal spill the truth about what Mira did to her to everyone, but I think it might be fitting if the first person she tells is Vedran. I’d love a “sitting around drinking and playing cards in Vedran’s cell” scene. I want to see more fun Vedran–it’s in there, just dying to get out.
High respect Vedran is just so sweet, i can hardly even kill him if i wanted to. He’s really just a good boy that got screwed over by bad parenting, toxic environment, and little to no education. The cell confession is more than enough for me and i’d like to see more of Vedran in the near future as a true brother
In the chapter 5 flashback, Vedran, regardless of the present relationship with him, is described as “unsure how to act around [the Marshal]. Sometimes he gives [the Marshal] presents.” His Respect is 20. While Vedran doesn’t have Elya’s strong will (even if her Strength is low, it takes strength to continue to view a(n unfairly) dishonored bastard as your sibling in the face of limited contact and immense social pressure), he probably wouldn’t have turned out the way he did with better parenting (it doesn’t seem like he was allowed to differentiate himself from Belos). Heck, he could have been the Marshal/Elya’s ally and brother over the course of the game (and (re)built his relationship with Obren).
Same here. I’m really hoping the Marshal can have their dishonoring reversed (and that the truth comes out about how that went down), and then she, Ellie, and Vedran can be the three musketeer siblings. Mira can go jump off a damned cliff, hopefully.
I did get that impression the first time we saw Belos and Vedran in the same room together. Vedran was like his wussy little shadow, and I’ve seen how real-world younger siblings can kind of be pushed into that role, because they are basically dominated by the older sibling unless they grow a spine.
Playing in the browser, with the CSGT extension installed, I saw that you get respect from Vedran at unexpected times–like comforting Belos despite him being a fucking moron. Vedran wants a family and to belong to it. He doesn’t want to be alone, but he feels he’s been shit on and lets his desire for revenge get the better of him. Only when he’s stuck and can’t get out does it start to hit him what he’s done (using his head for something other than a hat rack doesn’t seem to be his strong suit early on).
I didn’t know that about the flashback. I need to go back and pay attention to that. And now I need to let him have Obren. I made them friends before, because Vedran betrayed them all, but now that I get his character more, I want the guy to be able to get some happiness. The Marshal will hopefully get it with Milon, in the end, so Vedran should have Obren. Ellie… is too young, lol.
In your main playthrough, how religious is your Marshal?
Atheist
Agnostic
Deist
Faithful
0voters
“Atheist” describes a Marshal that doesn’t believe in God, the Redeemer, or any higher power—either because they never really believed or lost their faith after their life experiences (the first three options). “Agnostic” describes a Marshal that wonders if there is a God and would accept either answer to the question were it definitively answered, or a Marshal that believes in the afterlife because a nonexistent afterlife is scarier (fourth and fifth option). “Deist” describes a Marshal that believes in a higher power that isn’t necessarily the God espoused by the Church, or one that believes in God but not the Church’s interpretation (sixth and seventh option). “Faithful” describes a Marshal that is a devout believer and follower of the Scriptures and the Church—either because they were always faithful or they clung to faith for support after their life experiences (eighth and ninth option).
The pre-release Intimidation poll had all five options fairly close to each other (there was a five percent difference between first place and last place). However, while Intimidation 0-3 is fairly even with 0 winning the poll with an 8 percent lead, Intimidation 4 has only 7 percent of the vote. I wonder what caused that?
