I, the Forgotten One Release Thread (1.2)

Well, if I was Elya around high envy Marshal I wouldn’t give them shit either.

No, the Marshall asks her directly why she is reluctant, she doesn’t answer him.

Good thing we can take it and not care about what she wants.

Wait, you’re complaining that she won’t answer your question, but to get to that point, you would’ve had to be rude to her to begin with, so who here is truly to blame? Her, for not answering your question, or you, for treating her like shit?
And she’s not wrong, either, the feasibility of dealing with two simultaneous succession crises is somewhere south of zero

A Marshal who betrays Elya is just another Vedran, change my mind

Petty, whiny, overly emotional, pisses off everybody who loves them, check, check, check, and check

Lada was a very intriguing character. Unlike old age nobles (maybe due to the reason that she was a commoner adopted to nobility) she wanted a bastard. I agree by the end of first game our MC whether a King or General/Marshal (2nd ranked after queen) became a powerful man. But in the beginning he had almost no power. Still she was interested in him (even after him being disgraced and all).

Lada wasn’t the adopted one, Milon was (if I remember correctly).

“Lada is a young noblewoman and adoptive sister of Milon Janowitz.” This is information about Lada in game

This novel is dark story .I think In ending of all route will not be doomed to "Perfect Happy Ending " . and It mean Every character have their own suffing. So All of Ending is not good or not bad for MC story. And It is not mean that MC is Bad (If They want to be bastard king )or good people (If they want to be holy dishonored knight ).Everyone (Who is normal human who can feel anger ,jealous ,greedy etc.) in story is gray people in brutal civil war situation .(ฺBad in their own way and good in their own way) . It is hard to justified someone action by Social norm alone

I might be the minority who actually likes Gideon more than Velinor. Like no shade, Velinor saved our ass and takes care of our horse I guess. But sometimes when he subtly threatens us (like that time we wanted to recruit him) and piss us off (on the goddamn wall) I was really holding myself on just backhanding telling him off aggressively, just because I really need his archers and I don’t need another backstabber in the party. Also, am I the only who thinks he’s a bit of Mary Sue?

The Krorids, at least the people, seem quite willing to forget the bastard thing as for the dishonored thing Krorid has a different culture that doesn’t connect dishonor to missing ring fingers on account of having never been ruled by Ravaria who introduced that honor culture to the rest of the continent most likely.
At least culturally speaking in Krorid the Marshal is perfectly legitimate.

Bottom, yes, the top may not really share their enthusiasm though. Apart from Moren himself we haven’t really had any interaction with the elites of Krorid and Moren seems lukewarm to the Marshall at best, if you are honest and gain his respect, and quite cold otherwise.

Assuming the mc as “bastard King” won’t get something like excommunication and a crusade called against them that is going to be nigh impossible to defeat with an already impoverished realm in constant revolt.

Well my mc would ask Milon first, should he decline there are probably some cadet branches around. If that all fails you could indeed propose an election to the nobility and have them sort it out themselves.

Milon is presumably straight and a Duke so that is kinda logical with no romantic interest in a male Marshal and no dirty secrets and super close ties to the royal family that Obren has that it would take more time for male mc to gain Milon’s respect and a measure of trust and perhaps eventually a budding friendship. Given that culturally guys like Milon are encouraged to see dishonored mc as very much a lesser being. That he can genuinely overcome those barriers speaks well for him, even if it only really starts to happen in the second half of the book.

Most of this is straight up “This man is hot and broken and I can fix him”. She pretty much says as much when she’s thinking to herself “He’s forgotten how to love, but I can remind him” and about how romantic that is.

However, I think there’s some practicality there as well. As soon as Belos’ Folly takes place, the MC’s position in the world suddenly changes dramatically. He goes immediately from “black sheep” to “queen’s favorite”. Sure, he’s a dishonored bastard, but so what? Bastardy, really, is only as bad as the family decides it is. The MC caught the short end of the stick there because Mira hated him and Sobik was placating her as best he could, but now Elya’s in charge and that changes everything. She loves the MC, and IMO it’s pretty clear that the fact that he’s a bastard doesn’t matter at all to her. He’s her brother, full stop. Combine that with being their only truly capable war leader and there’s a pretty good chance the MC’s going up in the world.

You also have to consider that Lada’s a decidedly non-traditional kind of lady who seems to highly value her independence, but she’s a duke’s sister and all of that independence might go away if she has to accept a political marriage to some nobleman who expects her to stay safely at home popping out heirs. Not really surprising that Lada might consider the MC a pretty good prospect. Even before their promotion to Magister Militum, they’re still the queen’s favorite brother and the Marshal of Kanton, and they’re okay with her following the army as a surgeon. Definitely seems like a better choice than some older nobleman looking for a brood mare with connections to Milon’s duchy. And Milon’s almost certainly going to allow it, because what else is he going to do? The queen definitely seems pro-Lada, so he’d just piss off his sister, the queen, and the Marshal by going “no I’m going to sell you for a better alliance”?

In my scenario, the MC is the legitimate ruler of Krorid, whom (I believe) will accept the MC as the legitimate successor to the current ruler, Moren … Elya will be the crown sovereign of Kanton.

Because of the perfected legitimacy of both Elya and the MC in their respective realms, I do not see a crusade against the MC happening. Perhaps Elya, depending on how the bishop was persuaded to crown her.

The society as a whole, top to bottom, has forced Moren’s hand once, with the added prestige and legend added, I see neither the loyalty as a whole nor the MC’s legitimacy changing. ymmv

The MC was not rude, he has a question and she deflected. It is obvious why, and it is not because of any rudeness.

I sure Elya have somthing in mind about ruling Krorid (I still vote for Idea that she want rule both country ). Elya is very dangerous in many way .That is why I make her weak .

Where exactly does it say that? Because everything in game is milon being the adopted child because they feared lada who was a sickly child would die yet she managed to survive.

@Urban i think there is much i could say but i will refrain at this time and simply say they werent talking about that exact moment but the lead up to it from the start.

When you build Envy towards Elya your MC will display moments of annoyance, jealousy, and outright disrespect towards elya both verbally and non-verbally. Remember Elya has spent most of her life in court even at a low leadership/strength level she probably recognizes these emotions to some degree, and the Marshall is not very subtle overall when it comes to hiding their emotions unless they specifically take notice to trying to do so. This specific moment before you ask why she’s “reluctant to let you have this” you openly disparage her at a feast publicly. That alone is damn near cause for being sent off to the countryside somewhere if it were any other circumstance. But she drops it and doesn’t say anything about it, and then the marshall keeps pushing on the issue.
