I, the Forgotten One Release Thread (1.2)

This from the tavern scene in chapter 2:
His skin is a olive color, easily seen through the small gaps in his armor. His arms are left exposed, though the rest of his body is covered with mail, and you can see the edges of a gambeson underneath. That strikes you as odd. There aren’t many huntsmen who can afford such protection.
Should be an olive

I’m pretty sure there was a system for making all characters appearances change in accordance with the MC’s skin color

You have to snatch up 3 krorid vets during the final draft

Yeah, but grammar is grammar

Is this skill for only open battle ?

Sorry, thought for a moment somebody asked for a character’s appearance and you answeres them

Im pretty sure thats a myth. People in the medieval era didnt know about germs and the like, if the water wasnt visibly dirty/smelled terrible, it would have been considered safe to drink.

Funny enough about the guerilla warfare option saving Rangers

Because it didn’t. My last troop report was all Rangers lost despite me choosing every option to minimize danger and losses.

Somehow I lost like 20 of any other unit but multiple hundreds of rangers

Mira is an interesting topic, when it comes to hearing about everyone’s thoughts.
Personally, as much as I feel bad for what she went through with the king, I can’t bring myself to like her.
First of all, she’s not that different from other negative maternal figures in the genre, alas “the MC did [in her warped vision] something and now they must pay” which is nothing new.
Second, there’s not really that many chances to establish her character as nothing more that a bitter woman, even though at the end an “attempt” is made.
I don’t hold in high regard any of the nobles, perhaps save for our little sister whom I’d like to spare from a similar fate than the Marshal, but still it’s enjoyable to read different opinions.
Darin is the only fatherly figure my Marshal needs. :call_me_hand:

@Bacondoneright How come, when stitching up your wound in ch3, Lada doesn’t notice/acknowledge the cuts on your arms. Narrative says she looks you over thoroughly so…

You stroll even further into the great hall, stopping just at the edge of one of long wooden tables that travel the entire length of the hall. The chair in front of you is unoccupied, however there are neighbors on both your left and right.
Should be one of the long
Also, in ch3, the first pov shift bounces between past and present tense

You do need solid cavalry IIRC as well as the rangers.

@0Meletti They didn’t know germs because they couldn’t see them, but they did understand that drinking plain cold/room temperature water (especially water that wasn’t moving) got you cholera and giardia and other nasty things, and drinking small beer didn’t. They didn’t know exactly why, but they did understand that it wasn’t safe. Funnily enough, the first step of making small beer is boiling the water (which makes it safe). I wonder if any country that shall make an appearance in ITFOverse has developed tea/coffee culture (which also involves boiling water in the preparation)? Maybe Krorid? I’m now imagining one of the rangers (maybe the berserker in Chapter 8) offering the Marshal a cuppa joe to perk them up before battle.

Gotcha. Apparently the small beer was still consumed as a carb replacement rather than a water replacement (as well as a flavoring agent). I suppose tea and coffee were consumed as stimulants and social lubricants (as we consume them today)? Although the daily alcohol was much weaker (lower ABV) than than it is noe. In Mira’s case, it doesn’t matter since she regularly drinks enough to go into a stupor rather than drinking ale for the calories.

Again, this is false. There were many ways people in medieval times could have acess to clean, safe to drink water; they also knew that they could boil it and make it more or less safe to drink since Antiquity. There are many threads (and rants) on r/askhistorians if you want see a more in dept look into this myth.

You can even see how the notion that they didnt drink water back then makes no sense in your initial post:

Diluted in what? If the average pesant had the capacity to control the alcholic content in his drinks to make "dilution beer"or something, couldnt he drink just that, in place of using it to “water down” other wines and small beers?

It seems like Tactics won the strength poll by a landslide! That does make sense, as many of the optimal battle outcomes require a Tactics marshal (if not for achievement hunting, for the setup that allows victory), and the easiest way to get Victory and score a Decisive Blow involve Tactics Marshals (and Tactics Marshals get a special route to deal with Rade). While neither Leadership nor Weapons got more than 20 percent of the vote, Weapons beat out Leadership—I think it’s because of the various opportunities the Marshal has to be personally badass. I hope that Leadership gets more opportunities to shine in ITUO. I personally think it’s most fitting for people seeking Ending 3 for roleplay reasons.

The thing with leadership is that even though it’s used more times than people think, it’s not very flashy, it helps you on the margins, it helps in the midst of battle, with numbers, but it’s hard to actually see that from the players point of you. Weapons is the polar opposite, use it many times, very visible, but its actual usefulness is debatable

Fair enough upon further research this does seem to be an overall myth. However it largely depends upon the areas being talked about. Overall yes, most people still drank water. However in certain areas where large amounts of people gathered such as London, Frankfurt, Paris. Where the water was largely filled with sewage, trash, and other waste. They drank water that was diluted with alcohol, most likely cheap beer to neutralize any negative effects. I apologize for not doing further research it was just baseline observations I made with a quick search.

With further research the previous point you made holds more weight. They diluted wine with water or juices of some kind such as pomegranate. Also this largely only held with the nobility of Medieval Europe as the average peasant was not being given medical advice on how to have a healthy pregnancy and birth.

Hello. First off, congratulations on the game’s release! I really enjoyed my first playthrough of the game. From the story, to the characters and the army mechanics. It really reminds me of the old strategy based jrpgs I played back in my childhood.

Second, I’d like to know if I’m the only one who’s struggling in beating Rade after the Krorid battle? Because on my first playthrough I focused on tactics because I like most of the perks you get when Marshal’s a Tactician. But I really suck at minmaxing whenever I venture outside of that route and it really shows. I had to restart a couple of times because I keep failing to intercept Rade’s riders when they head for my flank. I’m wondering if there’s a guide to help with this, I’d really appreciate it!
