Can we do this simultaneously?
Congratulations to Saba, I really liked the story and characters, even when it was so short. I bought it through the app.
Look, it’s short, yes, but it at least tells a full story and I like the characters. Very classic sword and sorcery style story. I would have liked access to more spells (I chose healing and don’t think I ever got a healing spell, just Barrier) and the relationship seemed to progress quite quickly (again, due to the overall length).
EDIT: Could have done without the two male ROs both being A names. Aiden and Asher are close enough that I get them mixed up when making choices sometimes.
Congratulations, @Saba_Tchanturia!
That art is gorgeous! I’m tempted to buy just for that, no matter what’s in the story.
That was fast, after starting development just a few months ago! Congratulations!
Based
I think game has an amazing base but could really use a more fleshed out epilogue. It’s just that it gives very little detail about what happens to who at the end. Also I think that there should be a special scene at the end if you get turned into a vampire and, have basilisk as your familiar where it addresses what happens because how can he take years of your life if you’re immortal?
It’s entirely text-based—without graphics or sound effects—and fueled by the vast, unstoppable power of your imagination.
Not a knock on the writer or anything, but it’s funny how this is still copy-pasted into every description even when it’s not true.
The art looks a bit AI generated tbh. But it seems like a fun game.
No one would say a book wasn’t a text-based experience just because it had a few tipped-in color plates. “Text-based with a few illustrations” might be more literally accurate, but “text-based with no graphics or sound effects” is perhaps a more effective vehicle to convey exactly what to expect from this game so it doesn’t end up with a bunch of one-star reviews that say “total rip off, thought i was buying a game its just a book!!!”
I think the art looks awesome and detailed. To me it seems more like it had a pencilled effect added to it rather than it being AI art
According to the author, the game was originally illustrated with both AI and non-AI art, but when he was told AI “art” wasn’t allowed, he said he would remove those pieces.
What I find a little peculiar about the art in this game (what I’ve seen so far, anyway) is that it doesn’t all seem to be the same style. I never would have guessed that most of them were created by the same artist to illustrate the same work.
I admit I was only commenting about the cover art, wasn’t even aware there were pictures in-game also.
It looks good yeah but a lil off, specially the first one I’m not here to not pick art tho (unless it’s AI). But I’m sure the game is great! Always love magic.
There are some odd choices and inconsistencies in the cover and ingame images I’ve seen but there could be an explanation for it. The author should be fine if they did draw them as they probably still have the original files from the program they used to create them showing the layers/uncropped images etc to show their work on it.
