@poison_mara To me, health always comes first! Really glad to hear you’re alright now, and thank you so much for all the work you put into running the jam. Truly appreciate it!

To all the writers, building on @nocturnal_stillness 's words, let’s give ourselves a pat on the back! It takes real dedication (and maybe a touch of madness) to bring our ideas to life under a tight deadline. And I must say, every entry has its own charm and added something special to this jam.

And to the readers and voters, thank you for taking the time to read our stories and cast your votes. Personally, I feel your support plays a part in keeping the creative spirit alive.

Well said, all the entries were good in their own way, and the charm and dedication of the authors who wrote them is evident to see.

Tales of a Hedge Witch is undoubtedly an example of the little story that could. It was a great idea that was trimmed due to the time constraints, but now that the Jam is over, I can always go back and let it grow some more.

The same goes for everyone. Now that the time limit is over, you can take your time polishing the idea even further.

Yeah, to all of you writers you can now improve, add content or change stuff or even reuse. This year was one of the most close in voting and shows that level is raising.

I am very proud on writers and the community in general. And I am sure Brittany would feel proud of how the community worked on it.

She was the first person I talked about making a jam so many years ago. And she was my main moral supporter as well. I hope that she would be proud of this.

There is no doubt in my mind that Brittany would be proud of how hard everyone has worked. And @poison_mara I know she’ll be twice as proud of you. She isn’t here to post, but she is certainly cheering you on from wherever she is now

This was a lot of fun again this year! I had a great time working on it and playing through all the entries!

@poison_mara Thank you again for hosting this. Doing the Jam is one of my favorite times of year!

Yeah, thank you for hosting Mara – was an amazing writing prompt and I think we ended up with some great stories out of this. While I’m a little down that I didn’t place, that’s the haps – I still believe in Celtic Cry and hope to get back to it sometime in 2026 when I have time (also Blood & Blooms too) . . . also, the other stories that didn’t place were pretty strong too. LiliArch, your story was super fun, and it was nice to finally get to play one of your games! And Nocturnal_Stillness I gotta say Hedge Witch was my personal fav this year – cool female prot with magic and a catching back story? Check! Fun and intriguing game play and back story? Totally check! What wasn’t to like? So good in my opinion – I hope you continue on with it eventually. But yeah, super strong crop of games – there was some amazing writing here and there, some fascinating plot concepts, and some wonderfully disturbing stuff here and there. And I made my goal of finally getting to try a jam, so I’ll mark that down on one life goal complete.

Thank you, glad you liked it. I had to trim a lot back due to getting overcomplicated with some of the code, which caused significant delays. Therefore, I had to cut things so I could meet the deadline.

I’m back to working on Quiver now but I will definitely try and expand on Tales of a Hedge Witch

Congratulations to everyone! I hope we’ll meet again same time next year with even more authors and readers.

Congratulations to all who participated! I’m still writing up my overall thoughts on the entries, but I can say my top 2 were Delirium’s Wake and The Telling!

Not sure if this is the place to post this, but does anyone have any feedback for my story A Summer Without Flowers? I’m thinking of submitting it as a hosted game after I add a few more scenes (considering an entire loop of the story where you play through the whole thing from Abnoba’s perspective) and tinker with some of the aspects I feel are weaker, but I’m curious to see if anyone has any specific compliments/critiques.

I’m happy to hear my story made it to your top 2 list. Your story was one of my favories as well. I loved the poetic style of your prose. It kept me hooked and some passages were very unsettling (in a good way). I liked the atmosphere you created even though I was confused while reading some parts of the story (but I don’t think that’s your fault as a story teller, I may have been plagued by the media literacy of a sack of potatoes while reading it).

I loved how surreal it was, but I don’t know if that counts as specific or not. That’s all I have though, sorry!

Thanks! I’m happy for how it turned out, for how rushed I had to write  I mean, I wanted to make it longer, but, well. Needs must. And I somehow ended up putting myself under a ridiculous symmetry constraint, so I preeeettty much botched the ending, but hey, I finished with multiple hours to spare!

I cant give you exahustive feedback due I only did a run of each game so far (i will give feedback to everyone after a more throughout testing)

But I certainly think that with a further expansion of flavour text and customization routes is a solid publication game

I’m sorry I didn’t notice this thread until now (real life stuff on my end like helping my GF with the passing of her mother), but I just want to say I think Eiwynn would be proud of you @poison_mara . I know I am.

Thank you for saying this. We have to keep the fire burning in memory of the ones who died.
