Deadline From now to 31th October at noon in gtm +1.
No Ai, And have meaningful choices. A minimum of 1’500 words.
If you want to do a private testing send me a pm no public testing allowed until the deadline.
What entails the theme?
1-It has to have at least one vampire and have some presence in the story
2-It has to be at least one important murder
3-A disco 70s themed party.
About the time period, it doesn’t have to be in 70’s only the party has to have that thematic.
If you want to do a story set in 3456 in Orion belt when a millionaire vampire does a paty to remembering their youth in 70’s New York you can.
Or a medieval dude that time travels to 70’s anything goes always it has the 3 points required.
After the deadline people have time to vote for their top three or top five based on number of participants being top five if there are more than nine entries.
I hope not disappointing people with this year theme. But I wanted to do a spin to this year edition adding a historic period theme.
This thread and my pm is open to any writer that has a doubt or just want to chat about anything.
Thank you as always for hosting, @poison_mara! I’m so excited to get started writing I can’t wait to see what everyone comes up with - last year’s entries were tons of fun to play!
Don’t laugh at me, but I am trying to win enough confidence to participate in my own jam. It sounds stupid. But for me it is very difficult to gather the valour to do it.
Most knowing that I am probably the less skilled writer that will participate.
But still, It is good to try and the process of writing is very funny and engaging. My fear is the opinion of others not the writing or the deadline itself.
So to lurker people who is afraid to even try. You don’t have to post here publicly if you don’t want or don’t feel safe. But I am in pm to trying to give advice and just to listen. I know how hard it is. Feling that you are not good enough. But we should still trying to get it done and proof ourselves than we can.
Hey it’s calm it is nearly impossible to be one hundred percent original and it doesn’t matter at all, because being original isn’t what makes a story good it’s how you tell it. I remember when I was in secondary school my English was waffling about Shakespeare and was saying how he spoiled his plays at the start and part of that was because what mattered most was how the story was told rather than what actually happened in it. Point is I’m sure your work will be great and I can’t wait to read it!
No ones going to laugh at you for that and anyone who does is a clown. It takes a certain amount of vulnerability to put your writing out there and everyone who does it is respectable in that sense.
I think what you’ve said is how many people feel about themselves and their own writing and the fact that you said it has probably served as a comfort to others, who may also feel like their writing is inadequate.
I’m sure your work will be just fine and even if you’re not entirely satisfied with it, it is still an accomplishment just to finish and and send out a piece of work.
Besides even if you don’t realise it there is always going to be someone who reads your story and absolutely falls in love with it they might not reach out to you to let you know, as most people who love someone else’s work despite loving it just won’t reach out. You might not think this is true but I promise you that there will always be people who will deeply enjoy and connect with your story and appreciate what you’ve written.
I hope you’re able to find the confidence to put out your own story. Absolutely love the theme by the way!
I am literally trying to stay away this - but a small stand alone can be done
May be just draw the synopsis
Jackie’s bar/ crowded and empty as hours pass. 50yrs~ old sheriff sipping his single malt. He is a veteron of a DDay company, a sergeant/lieautenant whom leaded soldiers. He has sharp instincts and knew the last homicide cases his district facing are not any usual murders.
With the new Studio 64 opened he knew a new gang with new drugs found a venue.
When a new gang arrives always violence and homicides follows. Violent cases, always.
But this, this feels different, he couldn’t shake the feeling that something is going terribly wrong.
The prologue will be about his company’s secret mission where they raided a German Fringe science lab and witnessed alterations, damnations there ^^
I can easily form up a real WIP from that actually, but trying to not branch out - maybe comic or a small game.
Random thought: isn’t being horrified (terrified? I have a headache, my vocabulary is scrambled) of participating in a Halloween jam totally in line with the theme, though?
