This year is in memoriam of Eiw. The first person who heard my crazy idea of me doing a jam. And the person that cheered me all this years to keep doing them.

I will always carry your torch, my old friend.

The theme comes from several things she loved. She loved history and celtic folklore.

Roses. The blood rose is a key element in Patchwerk. I always called the story the blood rose even since she showed me the very first prototype.

And Night. As galician, i am from a celtic culture where night is the moment souls come to visit us. For our ancestors there was not another dimension for souls they are always around us but only in the night the thin veil between living and death are feeble enough to comunicate.

I think it is a theme open enough. You can consider Celtic rose is the name of an airship. Or a american football team whatever.

This jam wants to promote fun and using imagination pleeeease use it. Thing out the box!

Rules

Deadline From now to 31th October at noon in gtm +1.

1 No Ai, And have meaningful choices. A minimum of 1’500 words.

2 If you want to do a private testing send me a pm no public testing allowed until the deadline.

I didn’t think I’d have time to take part, but I’d like to as its in memorium fo @Eiwynn and I also want to do it in support of @poison_mara

So while focusing on Quiver I will try my hardest to write an entry for this jam. even if it just ends up being a short game.

I think I’m going to try for it – now I just need to come up with a single idea rather than several . . . anyway, sounds like a fun writing prompt and I am excited to see what we can all do.

An advice. Nothing impedes you to do several short stories linked by a comon concept each one at least 1,500 words. That it is totally valid and cool.

The mere fact of trying and have fun writing it is a way to honour her and the writing in general. And sounds really cool linked stories.

Just dont force yourself and keep the size something you find manegeable this is for fun afterall

Well, it is risky can I assure you. It is really a gamble because if nobody likes the theme or people find it limiting the jam is over.

The reason why most jams don’t go for themes so fixed.

Great theme, as always! Not too constraining, but specific enough to tie the narrative together. Count me in!

Last time I logged in to the forum, I spoke to Eiwynn regarding our 2023 Halloween jam entries. It still hasn’t sunk in that she’s not around anymore. Thank you for hosting this jam in her honor!

Edit: Just to be sure: you mentioned that no AI tools are allowed. I assume this only means generative AI tools. Are grammar validation tools, such as Grammarly or QuillBot, allowed? (they are technically AI too)

I’m now picturing trying to catch a devious spy in that haunted airship… starting to wonder if this really is The Idea.
