The only character creation choices that have a big story impact are your choice of three powers. That’s a huge choice, because it determines what you can do in the game, and you can never change them or gain new ones.
One thing to note is that dreamwalking has the least impact on the normal scenes in the game, but unlocks a bunch of extra scenes which are often very funny.
The game’s currently under content review/copyediting, and meanwhile, I’m adding content/fixes. I’ll update it here in a few weeks – the bugs you’ve reported so far must have been all acknowledged and fixed.
The idea is that the epilogues mainly deal with consequences and add closure to the main plotline. Since the last update, though, I’ve added a few more variations to them.
This has been fixed
Now that was a really interesting bug yep, there’s a missing swear word there
They change some interactions (for example, if you get the letter, you may choose your RO earlier) and characters refer to them differently, but that’s it.
@gerbilsrcute
We don’t have an official release date yet because the game is still under revision, but we intend to release it before Halloween
WIP bug, unsure if fixed. My powers were Apparition, Poltergeist, Whisper. Either “Possession” should mean “Apparition” here or the choice should be grayed out. Also I was able to dream walk with Amber once, when I can’t dream walk in this playthrough.
Also I was the most benevolent house guardian ever (or trying to be the best house guardian ever) and the Brookses were still uneasy around me, after I revealed myself, even when they told Joseph that I was trying to protect them and even when I saved them from Violet’s goons by putting them in the safe room. Not sure if it was the unbelievable nature of the whole situation which got them walking on eggshells (which is understandable) or a mild WIP bug that is fixed in the full game. I guess while “walking on eggshells” is an exaggeration, they didn’t seem “completely relaxed” either. Maybe it was also the whole Violet/Edgeworth thing weighing on them that made them less warm.
On the other hand, the Exorcist’s Aide ending is as awesome as I remembered. Pity Michael died in my playthrough…
Not really ROs in the conventional sense; you get a past marriage from when you were alive, but you’re a ghost now. The other characters in the story aren’t open to being romanced by a ghost for reasons that are obvious as you go along.
I think it doesn’t make much sense to update the WIP here anymore. There are mainly two reasons for that.
First, the game’s coming out next week. Like, literally.
Also, I received the post-copyediting (CE) files from Hosted Games a few weeks ago and have been updating them with recent changes. If you’re familiar with the editing process, you’ll know that some scenes have turned out much better, with more polish. Most of the bugs in Chapter 5 were already identified during editing, as you did in this thread, and have since been resolved.
And, of course, I can’t upload the post-CE files here.
I am incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported the project since its launch in 2019, as it would not have been completed without the fantastic support I received.
Thank you! And if you’re playing the game once it comes out, I hope you enjoy its final and published version
