And let’s not forget just completely tanking that combo attack that those amateurs tried to do. That was peak

Finally gotten around to the demo, albeit the terrible signal and work I’ve been stuffed with. I’m happy you’re officially back, and I’m certainly looking forward to what you have in store for this story and us.

New Demo, Hooray

Saw a lot of lurkers come out, wander how many more I’ll see lol

I’m assuming the brace brackets are a mistake?

Saves please, no-save game is horrible to replay from the start all the time

Not really an issue at the moment. Cause the demo right now is pretty short

will be the issue later. Cause game will be updated and become longer

The demo is on moody ink so you need an account there so you can be able to save.

I mean that is what got me confused with the first speaking part but I doubt it was a mistake XD.
Also big RIP to the Earnest and Brat Personality traits, will be missed.

The only critic i would have is that the demo is on moodyink, wich to save and load u have to login every 5 minutes, besides that i feel theres isnt much to say about, its the barebones but, going from the first version (the old one) is going to be peak

Sorry for ur loss, dear author, but, its good to have u back writing for us

For what’s worth, you can add the ā€œnormalā€ save slots functionality with a simple copy/paste in the browser dev console – exact instructions are on website here. That said, the demo is very short like the OP says, so there’s hardly any need to save at this point.

Thanks for the heads up, and yeah the story is still short, was expecting a low-key return. Nope. Again much luv to all of the fanfare

on what I’m currently doing, is working on exploring so alot of the flourishes like some personality traits can be added in on the back end just because its not there now doesn’t mean I wont have a manic episode and build a new thing just because.

That said I’m in the business of making this as enjoyable to write and read as possible but I’m also a superpower nerd and must know how things work. I’ve recently gone down the route of quantifying how to measure, while it may never be seen by anyone I now have an exact idea of how to measure superpowers lol wierd rabbit hole. but fun. back to work for me.

if that kinda of clunky lore suits your fancy I may put it in the stat glossary if there’s any interest in power ranking and how to build your own rules appropriate darwin, its how I’m making new characters so there’s less hax and BS powers as the story progresses.

felt Id share what I was up to.

have you looked at gurps character books they help put a qantifyable tag on stats and such. here is a example for strenght . in gurps str affects hit points on a 1 to one scale but you can buy hp

another important quantifyer is damage. wich coralates well with strength. the average person can take 10 points of damage before they are messed up badly and about 3x below 0 before they risk death
rifles do 6-8 dice of damage (dice are d6)
Pistols 3-5 dice
anti material rifles 10-15 dice

lastly standard stat levels for normal humans

i hope this is benificial to you.

Neat but not what ive done.
Mostly just for my own reference.
The below is nerdy be warned

I took the average energy output of a moving person and made it into a unit of measurement in joules and call it a Kinetic Potential, how much and how well they transfer force. Physics yay.

Superpowers are measured by how many of these units they can produce in three methods.
Maintenance (cost to maintain)
Application (total available, to attack defend or utilize)
Regeneration (rate of recharge)

Lastly a threat modifier based on current situation or skill level. The kinetic Potential of a fire wielder goes down in watery and wet areas or goes up in flammable areas.

So I remembered The Neon Lights for the first time in… oh half a decade. Replayed the old one for fun - and then went to see if we’d seen anything from Snoe. And the idea isn’t dead! Here’s to the reboot!
