A re-imagining of the Freak story(for those of you who know what that is.)
This game is about a nigh indestructible silent protagonist, starting from their humble begginings in a secret lab. I am to take you through the exploration of a world on the verge of superhuman expansion before and during.
Within this story expect to earn ‘traits’ which may colour your interactions with the world and its characters or grant access to different dialogues. I don’t do numbers or stats if I can avoid it.
You will be able to customize your MC as the story progresses to the end of the prologue.
To answer a few questions about the world:
Freaks: as found in the title refers to a super powered individual whom was specifically ‘born’ with abilities.
Darwin’s Syndrome:The official diagnosis of those with super powered abilities. Which has manifested slowly across the world into people plants and animals.
Swigs: the term for Darwin’s that underwent the procedure to become super powered via sythetic means, as if they drank their power from a bottle; thusly swig.
Wylde: anything weird dangerous and definitely not human.
The rest of the lore I would like to deliver narratively or on request or through discussion as it will form more naturally as I’m thinking much of this through one step at a time.

this was a great start to something that pulled me in and was enthralling. I am seriously looking forward to seeing what happens. I don’t know it from before so I am a new fan, if we don’t know the previous version of this will we be missing something or is this a total reworking?
There may be easter eggs or character recognition but its a full reworking but with the bones of the original. Most characters are the same from different angles due to the setting change
Excellent and amusing start so far. It reads with a intresting and already enthralling story that is pulling me into the mc’s life all over again. great show

@Snoe Easter eggs are always fun but I am glad to hear we won’t really be missing anything as its a reworking rather than us as readers missing out on jokes or context clues without the previous story bones being known. Thank you for humoring my question
It felt like I was an SCP in a lab lol especially with our profile notes in the stats menu. I’m enjoying it especially the troublemaker since everywhere was basically my playground. I look forward to an update.
I’m intending on the stat notes updating throughout the game having a little mini journal of bullet point things you’ve chosen, filling out your file. SCP is a very fun fiction universe I listen to the podcasts from time to time.
Cool at the very least our choices will remembered and measures that are place will probably adjust a bit as well. I watch it scp time to time. It’s a fun fictional universe indeed as long as you keep the old man away. He’s creepy and even they can’t stop him.
