Fief -- a manor-mangement sim

No specific one. I started working on this world in high-school. I put it down for a long time, but picked it up about six years ago and spent quite a bit of time on it. Then I ran a table-top game at AnonyCon for two years, but then I didn’t know what to do with it.

So, the “research” is a lot of little stuff over a very long time.

It’s a non-fantasy world that you actually intensely study over the years the structure of feudalism for this to make sense? You got to be pretty fun DM FYI. Think about feudalism that has all different variants depending on the country and the time period. Example culturally where these people inspired from and how did their feudalism come about? Stork Lee every country is going to their own particular brand of feudalism what the reason was pretty spread out among Europe was because of the Charlemagne empire an intern his successors de facto colonizing different parts of Europe. But it wasn’t always violent a lot of kings that converted to Christianity would request German Frankish or Norman Knights. Norman knights for some reason always a hot commodity during the early period of the high Medevial ages.

So was there feudalism a combination of their tribe and clan structure infuse with whatever governmental apparatus or titles of their former masters?

Well, I just used *param and arrays for the first time to implement random names for the parties in judgments. Woot!

I’m enjoying this and looking forward to further development.
I’m guessing there will be options to manage the fen/meadow acreage later?
Another question - currently we are unable to ransom our fathers sword, correct?

You are correct on both accounts.

Technically, you could convert Fen if you had an Engineering of 2, but there’s no way to get Engineering of 2 yet.

No offence but this engine is not really made for this kind of game; at least not like this. When you make this detailed management game, especially when it’s text-based, you need accessibility to the numbers and status related to the management aspect of the game and the respond of what’s going to happen when you do something.

You have every recipe for making management game, but all of it falls short by how confusing the stat scene becomes. Not everything supposed to be pages upon pages of…well everything; try separating each resource type into its own page.

In the main page of what you wanted to do within the year, you should have a tab for you to immediate review the essential resource; how much land you have left, how much are your manor yielding (without event), what is your current maintaining costs, peasant moral, along with some important reminders.

And I DON’T, and SHOULDN’T, want to reopen Sirid tab more than twice at most (no one like a tutorial), no good management game make its player play/read tutorial more than twitch. You need to make the explanation CUT CLEAR not explaining what’s sow, hog, or piglet are separately; it’s tedious, this isn’t Dwarf Fortress. Tell me what I get from keeping it, what I get from killing it, what stages yield what, what’s the maintenance cost, how much do this cost increase at each states/type, what do I do from the resource I get from keeping/killing it, do I need to maintain certain among of them? When you build this building or clearing land what’s going to happen? At what numbers? This is just some basic.

I might not explain this clearly, but I believe I get my point across that you need respond, clearly explained information and accessibility in this kind of game. I recommend you look up King of The Dragonpass for a text-based management game.

I absolutely loved this game! I’m not sure if there was a ending but I played for three hours and didn’t find it. Good job on the complexity and depth

I found some errors

It came after this:

when I click the button it doesn’t work

I just fixed the first two.

I’m not sure what the problem is with the third.

EDIT: actually, uploading what should be a fix to the third now.

thanks, can you add an option to save the game pls

I keep getting this message every year

also how can I return the debt that I have?

ok, fixed both of those bugs.

Bug reports:

Numbers are going a bit wild in this one.

I would have reported more bugs but every time I encounter a bug I have to restart the game as it won’t let me continue after.
If I could save the game at certain intervals (at least while it’s a WiP) then that’d be great.

The option to save the game would be nice

when I select the 2 option I get this and plss add the option to save the game so we dont lose our progress if things like this happen

Same error, different location. I’m guessing that there is an issue with this variable, so I will refrain from posting anymore screenshots with this error.
