I finally got the ending where the Rangers don’t find out that I’m the Anathema imposter but I still end up in the hospital, this was the hardest one for me to get, but I think it’s my favorite one. That being said, I am very interested to see how that ending would affect Revelations or book 4, because I’m sure they’d be pissed to find out they harbored a supervillain and illegally helped him escape (Except Argent because she already knew). Of course, I guess it’s possible if they come to understand my motivations more they might not be so pissed since I’m basically just a vigilante at this point. I actually hope we get to team up with Dr. Mortum officially in Revelations too now that our sworn enemy the Special Directive is after them. As for Hollow Ground, I’m actually wondering if he’s the one responsible for the Heartbreak incident due to telepathic abilities another post talked about which may also mean he’s a fellow re-gene. It seems like he may be the main villain for Revelations so I suppose we will get answers eventually.
What base did you choose?
- Temporary base in the tunnels
- Floor in a luxury skyscraper
- Abandoned industry building
- Fake business storefront

I always hesitate between industry building and store
I went for the Skyscraper, my MC is loaded (I wish it was meh)
Funny how we still don’t own a car…and we gotta walk to the Ranger HQ and get caught under the rain
Depends on the playthrough. My ‘main’ tech-savvy MC goes fake business storefront, my others usually go abandoned industrial building, and sometimes tunnels.
Edit:
Having a built-in explanation for where her money comes from and how she sprnds her time are the main reasons. That and getting to tinker with non-villainous technological things.
I picked luxury suite even though I know Ortega is a stalker and is gonna have questions. I have an F ton of money from clowning on the Rangers last book, and more from robbing villains this book, so I need something to spend it on and Ortega won’t let us pay their debts so
yeah that seem the motto of most everyone who go for an Mc who is tech savvy. Just too bad for now its just that…a front.
Would be nice to have a scene there with our romance…(who knows, maybe Ortega will get off my back if she see the store?)
I really do like the business hideaway, it adds yet another layer of obfuscation between you, your puppet and villain persona.
And there’s Marcia <3
Btw. don’t you guys find it a little strange that nobody asked what job MC has now being civilian?
Ortega certainly should be suspicious with his/her paranoia. So it certainly raises questions that they haven’t.
Honestly, no. I’m convinced Ortega has been following us since they found us in the diner and knows we don’t have a job.
edit: Or, considering they think we are HG’s sibling, maybe they think HG is bankrolling us.
funny was just thinking that. I mean in real life, peoples are noisy about that topic and it always annoyingly come out ‘So…what do you do for a Living?’. Yet nobody ask the MC…
Oh sure…‘Where have you been? Why didn’t you call?’ are all good questions, but really? Nobody ask ‘So…since you aren’t with us and there is no welfare or disability in this world, how do you feed yourself?’
Very likely yea, and the fact that they didn’t bring it up either reveals that they might be afraid of the possible truths it might reveal.
Chen is probably also suspicious of it. He certainly would also think about what we are doing when we don’t hang around the HQ.
Gosh, nooo… That nosy creep scares me enough already. I hope his conspiracy theory about HG siblings and the connection between the puppet and the villain is all he know.
Oh btw, if anyone is curious about ‘Lying about still being a telepath’ which I picked alongside my run with Dr.Mortum romance. Turned out, screw you smartypants! They always knew! When my MC woke up in the Hospital, the 1st thing out of their mouths was why was there Dampener, and Ortega was there…saying something like ‘We knew…’
makes sense, Chen definitely never bought the lie about losing powers. You can see that clearly in the interactions.
He never does but you have a choice when chen asks for your help in the end to straight up admit it but give it a twist saying i needed ortega off my back that actually earns you his trust if your villian hasn’t been revealed as a telepath yet and if he doesnt doubt you as the villian ofc.
That’s an excellent observation about Marshall Hood.
My MC needs to start having some fake job or front cause I lost count of how many times Ortega or Herald asked me to rejoin the rangers.
I suppose you could go on the theory maybe they think you work freelance or remotely?
My only concern with that theory, is Hood had an open casket funeral after being shot in broad daylight. How’d he survive, and who or what was in that casket? How’d HG get him? And then it’s been like 14 years since then… messed up. But that’s the kinda theory I like
