when attempting to attack the head (I’ll be no help to anyone if I’m also swarmed. I help Aidan attack the creepy head.) with a stun gun or tazer or fists:

Actually, it seems like doing anything right in this fight leads to this error.

ffffffffff.
not sure why quicktest wouldn’t pick this up, I’ll have a look. Thanks!
Okay, can’t find the exact problem right now, because I’ve added a few lines here and there since the update, so now the line cited in the error isn’t where it ought to be D:
That said, I have a general idea where the error would be based on where all those choices lead and a rough idea of the line, and have fixed anything that looked suspect there, so if you do another playthrough, let me know if this is fixed! I’m going to be attempting a quick playthrough too now <3
Nope, still getting it, but at least the line is correct now. Give me a few minutes.
NOW it’s fixed, I believe. The reason no one had said anything yet, and that quicktest hadn’t picked it up, is because I broke it recently, when fixing the double-text bug. Lol. Should be fine now!
Edit: my quick playthrough now worked, let me know if there’s more trouble! Sorry for the dumb mistake.
seems like its fixed! sorry for not showing a screenshot of the code, it totally slipped my mind. thank you for being so diligent with this project
No worries! Thanks for pointing it out! <3
ah
yes
that would be because now the file contains a link into the next bit of the chapter that I was busy working on which shouldn’t be there, lol. It should have ended when you note that Carlisle had an advantage against the emotion-sensing bees due to being high.
Edit: that’s now fixed too and the demo-chapter ends where it should xD this is what I get for being too hasty in re-uploading a file to fix errors.
An update for everyone, since we’ve been quiet for a while!
I’ve finally figured out a piece of code that had me stumped for literally 4 days solid and that I needed for the end of chapter two (that still isn’t up because I’m coding slower than a snail on valium, lol).
Meanwhile, @zionmantis and I are also working on implementing changes to the existing content based on feedback. That includes:
At some point I’ll also be doing another poll regarding whether trans players would prefer to have a gender option explicitly stating “people used to think I was male, but I’m female” or vice versa, or would prefer just seeing ‘male’ and ‘female’ options. The previous poll was almost split down the middle.
Yeah the not talking thing would be hard to word. Only kind way I can think of putting from what some people have said/done when I didn’t talk much. -jump- shit! Sorry! I uh… I really thought you couldn’t talk? I always think treating it as a startled reaction softens things like that.
Not a bad thought, though if the player couldn’t talk I imagine that’d have been in the dossier on them, D:
True it just depends on who might say it cause maybe not all of them read in detail and those who might have could pop back with “of course they can flipping talk. There is value in silence you know.” Sort of thingy. But yeah good point. Hey something as little as the mc talking could startle someone to jump or yelp in surprise cause they forgot they were standing there cause they don’t talk much.
hehe, I can see Carlisle being surprised by the player talking… :3
Hoo, boy. This is a huge update, guys. Soon, I promise. I’m also having my ass kicked by uni at the moment… got an essay due in less than two days that I haven’t started… We’re getting there, though!
There isn’t a lot added after the mission, but there’s some new stuff in the two missions that you have. And the heartless/somewhat sociopathic play style that some thought was missing is being coded in.
Give me the topic and I’ll write it for you so you can focus on important things.
Just need amount of pages and that topic.
Hehe, I appreciate it, but it’d require you to read two novels and a bunch of secondary readings first, and the one novel is also quite hard to get hold of on short notice.
On the internet, anything is possible.
But seriously, real life comes first!
Haha – the one novel IS on the internet, because I got it from there. The other is not. I tried. XD
But I am busy coding right now instead of writing, so clearly my priorities are all fucked up.(https://twitter.com/EffinBirds reference, lol)
In my youth I used to be a hacker (15 or so years ago). Never got caught, never did anything bad… but you can find anything online if you know where to look…
