Are you going to be alright? I didn’t interact with her much, but I know how hard it is to lose a close friend unexpectedly.
Thank you for asking. I will be, it will just be tough for the next few days.
And 2024 just got even shittier. RIP old friend. I always respected you and enjoyed the discussions we had here and I am sad we will never see any of your projects finished now.
I don’t know what to say.
I’ve just been sitting here crying, as I read through everyone’s heartfelt words.
It feels impossible to imagine this place without Eiwynn.
She was such a constant, such a wonderful presence here, for such a long time.
I knew since years that she was ill and how she was on borrowed time. She always was there for me. Always. Talking each other of our struggles and cheers up.
I was at the hospital until few hours ago. So the shock is immense for me as she was full of projects and life.
Of course my wishes going to her family.
I dont know how going on here without her really. She was my pillar.
Oh my goodness, I am so very sad to hear this. Eiwynn has been a wonderful presence in this community for years, and has been one of the people who has worked very hard to make it the welcoming place that it is. Deepest sympathy to her spouse, and all her family and friends.
I’ve passed the word on to the rest of the COG staff - I know they will all be saddened as well.
Sorry for not answering this sooner. The email didn’t specifically say; just when her wife came home, Eiwynn was gone. As others have mentioned, she was ill for a long time.
This is such heartbreaking news. My condolences to her family.
I am unsure what to say except that we will miss you, Eiwynn. You brought a lot of insight to the discussion here.
My condolences to her family and loved ones.
Oh my goodness…this is heartbreaking. What a beautiful soul to be taken so early. She was always one to reach out with help, support and kind words. She would dm me occasionally with positive words, or to ask if i was ok reminding me that she would be there to listen if i ever needed…all while clearly going through her own shit. Wow. What a phenomenal person. I am truly saddened. RIP lovely, you will be forever missed. ![]()
Just heard. Brittney was this forum. The beating heart at the center of it. We are all poorer for her absence.
I’ve been a long time lurker who has really only just begun interacting on this forum. Throughout my time as a forum member, I’ve noticed Eiwynn always had something insightful to say. It sucks that her time here is over already. She will be missed.
She was the person than told me That my jam idea was a good one. Before anyone else. She was like a wise sister to me. I was the blunt one.
I know that she wish me to continue improving and hosting events. She always wanted the best for everyone. But now without her I doubt that I will be able to doing stuff anymore.
Oh god… I don’t even know what to say… I’m so sorry to everyone who was close with her. She just sent me a supportive private message a few days before passing and she was always so kind to me.
I’m in shock to hear this.
I spoke with her at least once a month. She had been working on an HG story for the past few years, and I’ve been seeing the growth of her writing and coding abilities.
I’m so glad that she contributed to one of my games, so her writing has been published for us to read.
My condolences to her family.
I can’t believe she’s gone. This account is fairly new but I’ve been around a lot longer than that, and Eiwynn has always been here. It’s so sudden and my mind refuses to believe it. I’m devastated for her family and friends. I didn’t know her well on a personal level, but it’s clear to see she was a special person in immeasurable ways. I don’t know what anyone whose life she touched will possibly do without her. It was a joy and privilege that is impossible to put into words to have her here.
This is very sad. I didn’t know her, but her presence was everywhere on this forum. What a huge loss. My sympathies go out to all those who knew her.
It’s been a while since I’ve been really active here, and I know that others have echoed and will echo what I’m saying in various ways, but I wanted to leave my regards here for the sake of it. She was absolute class in every way, and probably the COG forum member I had the single highest amount of respect for. For someone who, in my life, amounted to words in a screen in purely practical terms, I’m going to dearly miss her.
I’m very sorry to hear this, best wishes to her family
