Eiwynn was always a good forum friend. We had lots of chats over the years and she did a lot for supporting the CSG community. I’m so sorry to hear of this, I will miss her ![]()
I’m going to write a whole new IF just to cope with this.
This is awful to hear, and I’m so sorry to her family. She was a great pillar of the community and helped keep things going no matter what. Love to everyone who was close with her and I hope they’ll get the support they need.
I’m sorry to hear this. She was vital to building the community here. My condolences to her family.
Well, that explains why she said she wasn’t feeling good and that it was best to continue without her. I didn’t hear back after thanking her and offering help with anything she could need. Even though she couldn’t this time, she helped me before. From when I was a nobody until I was almost publishing, she didn’t seem to care to offer a hand.
Awful news to hear, but better to know than not. Long life to her memories that remain in this forum.
That’s terrible. My thoughts are with her loved ones, both IRL and on here.
Eiwynn was one of those kind of rare presences where if she wove herself into a thread, maybe even a thread heading a bit in the bad direction, it would come out okay. So even not knowing her well, i felt her presence basically ever since I started engaging in this community. So her absence is like an instrument stopping suddenly in an orchestra. You can hear her absence. Sending love and support to her spouse and family.
It’s going to bvery strange not seeing Eiwynn’s name on posts offering well considered, thoughtful feedback, and patient replies from whenever she had to don her moderator cap. Eiwynn’s username is one of the few I started recognizing on sight even before I made the choice to join the forum officially. She has been a core of support to many, even those she may not have had direct dialog with, and will be dearly missed.
Wow, this is a terrible shock. One of my favorites around here.
This sucks! Anything we can do?
Oh man. I saw this and thought maybe I just didn’t understand how the words “Passing Away” were being used. It had to mean something else, anything but that.
Eiwynn and I hadn’t spoken in awhile, but we used to speak regularly, enough so that I considered her a friend. I always thought about reaching back out, but I was too busy. Oh, I’m sure she doesn’t have time. I can always do it tomorrow. And time stretched on and on. I wish I didn’t take that for granted.
I’m sorry to those who loved her for suddenly having lost her. I’m sorry to those that never knew her for not realizing what a kind, earnest, and caring person they’ve missed out on. It says a lot about her that every single person here can point to having had her support and encouragement. The world’s going to be less without her.
Please let us know if there’s anything we can do–whether it be donating to her funeral or other costs, donating to a charity she loved, writing to anyone, anything.
Sending my condolences.
As of this moment, they haven’t said anything about contributions, donations, etc.
When I first saw the topic I thought it was announcing a new project or something, I now wish it was not this heartbreaking news.
I am shocked and heart broken to hear that. She was often the heart of the forum and her writer support threads were a thing of joy to read even when I was not writing.
My thoughts are with her friends and family, she will be missed
This is a huge loss to everyone in the CoG community, whether they knew her or not. She offered an invaluable amount to everything she participated in on this forum. She started the monthly Author Support thread which, by all accounts, has become a staple of the forum space. She was always first to offer to give advice and constructive criticism to anyone that needed or wanted it on the forums. She was an advocate for human rights and the good of the world winning out over the bad, even if that has been bleak on the tail end of this year.
I didn’t know her personally, but I interacted with her quite a bit on the forums. For over three years I’ve seen her name on damn near every post. One of the first things I thought of when CoG was mentioned was her profile pic.
To suffer a loss is to have had something great, and Eiwynn was certainly one of the greats. Rest in peace.
A terrible loss. Eiwynn was such an important member of this community–her passing has left a whole forum of writers without words.
I’m very sorry as well. May she rest in peace.
I haven’t interacted with her much, only exchanging a few replies here and there, but every time I searched the forum, her responses would stand out. Her solutions to so many people’s questions and problems, as well as the supportive threads she created, gave me real hope. The way she thoughtfully responded to nearly every post with such kindness and understanding made me deeply admire her personality.
I am truly saddened by the loss of such a wonderful and kind person. My condolences to her family and friends.
May she rest in peace.
Lys, thank you for sharing the news.
Eiwynn and I became friends early in our forum days, almost ten years ago now, and even when I stopped being so active online we kept in touch with email and Discord…. She was always so ready to share her perspectives and insights, and I loved trading feedback and listening to her thoughts about writing, games, and the world.
She was an extraordinary person with so much to share, and she did share, supporting countless writers and players on this forum and elsewhere, always thinking about how she could help the community. She was generous and kind, a great listener, open-minded and compassionate.
I miss her so much.
Eiwynn is a very good person. I seen a loth of her posts and liked it. Her feedbacks are wel thoth and polite. She is constricyive. She is a beauriful soul and pillar of this forum. I’am not sure I talked her but definitly read and liked her posts and thots. İf you not see her name in a post you feel strange. I’am suprised and shocked to learn her death. My condolences to her family, friends, loved ones and of course the forum. Rest in peace beautiful soul Eiwynn.
It still feels surreal. She had played some games I gifted her just a couple days ago on Steam…and I nearly broke down when Steam automatically refunded Honor Bound
