How do I unlock the draconic powers with the gem?
You have to start as a historian, do not fight the wildmen and swim to rescue the foreign princess successfully and do not invade the hnong people, free the daughters of the queen, become turncoat and spend your time only researching information about the dragon gems and do that sidequest for the wildmen and one of them will give you a complete scroll before the mad king comes
Damn so no chance as a paladin?
I am not sure but it was kinda obvious at start of the game that the historian role would play a bigger part of the game than the others, considering the historian is focus on the dragon gems
If you are not a historian, do not fight the wildmen and complete the kidnapping quest later on.
If you are a historian, the option to find the incantation will appear under city management towards the end of the game.
If you did both, there is no extra benefit.
So there are two separate ways to obtain that ending.
Hi really enjoying the game and wanted to know if there was an option to romantic more than one person in the game. Like Princess Bridget and Lady Anne and Alicia. Or just two of them at one time any two. Because for me I like all three women haha
Sorry, no. I didn’t code that in. Only one person at a time. ![]()
Was actually hoping that because I was chosen by the dragon, I can have the option to overthrow the Emperor
or marry Chang and lay claim to the neighbouring country (forgot the name lol).
You can marry Chang and start your own rebellion. Can’t lay claim to the other Empire, didn’t make an option for that.

Thanks @AletheiaKnights for the help.
The updated version should be released on 5th September. Total word count is now 170,000 words. This comes in two additional chapters. If anyone has any questions, please feel free to put them here.
I just want to say that I originally overlooked your game by accident, because I got it somehow mixed up with another game which I wasn’t interested in, but I’m actually enjoying your game now that I gave it a try. Sorry about the mix-up.
No worries.
You get the sale price and the chance to enjoy the extra chapters immediately. Glad you’re enjoying it. ![]()
What’s the best way to negotiate the trade deal with Jhou as a paladin?
There is no best way… it depends on what your priority is. But to give a run through:
Tax exemption (Choice 1):
The first option generates more prosperity. (Exempted)
The third option generates more wealth. (Regular Taxes)
The second option generates a bit of wealth and prosperity. (Light Taxes)
(If you’re trying to beat the game on Brutal, you should pick the first option)
Paying for expenses (Choice 2)
The first option disables base troop production until week 16. The armory is not affected. (Pay for security)
The second option halves resources generation until week 16. (Pay for infrastructure)
The third option allows you to avoid both penalities if you are an engineer. (Use engineering skills)
If you made peace with the wildmen and met with montague in a sidequest, you should get another option to avoid both penalties.
(If you’re trying to beat the game on Brutal, you should play as an engineer and pick the third option.)
Access agreement (Choice 3)
The first option generates more prosperity and resources, but inflicts a contentment penalty. (Agree to arrangement)
The second option has no effect.
(If you’re trying to beat the game on Brutal, you should pick the second option)
(It’s not possible to beat the game on Brutal as a paladin, sorry!)
For some reason I die when trying to swim. Any way around that?
Only one option will help you survive for that part. If a certain option causes you to die, try something different. You can retry as many times as you wish without penalty.
Ah, so is it not true that you need to swim to get the Dragon Gem powers later? Someone above said it was but that may have just been the option that let them live.
Edit: Ok, I see the next round of options and I think I was just misreading that post.
The choices you make in this section merely help you to survive to the next part. It does not influence the powers you get from the Dragon gem.
The types of powers you gain from the Dragon gem depend on certain choices you make later in the game.
