Well through what I read, when the MC dies, on some scenes we had the part where we reached out for a tendril, also in the spar with Ember but we weren’t dead there. That tendril being the “You’re welcome” sign to the demon infusing us with their power.
On the deaths you mentioned, we didn’t get that, so the demon didn’t bother trying to hijack our body.
Either I’m right, close but not there or completely wrong, It’s how I perceived it to be.

I think you got it right the first time.
Also, something I have been wondering about. When we’re raiding the lab for the nanobots, I assume that we notice the other containers of them because our MC mentions that there were more to the doc. Could there be some sort of check while at the lab to grab more? I understand this might mess with your story/coding up to this point. Maybe we could go back or raid another lab later on?

Woah there, kemosabe, I’m going to have to stop you there. I changed my gosh darn pfp back to Purple Boi for that quote, and I don’t get to quote him in-game? Wack, just imagine it, a stoic mc quoting Purple Boi at everyone, like a certified badass. Heck, we last should use the nano-bots to turn one of our arms into the gauntlet.
