Welcome to Dawn of Heroes!
This IF follows a Main Character that always wanted to be a superhero in a world without superpowers. Then one day they get their wish. This is a work in progress and characters, events, and full chapters are still subject to change.
Currently the demo lets you play all 26-27 Chapters (chapter count depends on choices). The total word count for the demo is over 400k. There are still edits and modifications to come.
As a warning the DashingDon site might give you an error (with my demo only) when doing power creation. I am unable to fix this because the issue comes from the older CS that the site uses. If this happens, please use the CoGDemo’s link instead.

Earth. Modern Day. The world continues to view superheroes as comic book or movie characters. The abilities of those extraordinary individuals are not possible in this universe. This will soon change. A story is about to begin as someone steps forward to inspire this dawn of heroes. All heroes have a beginning. This one begins in Ryker City. A small city with a big town mentality. Select your character’s gender, sexuality, profession, and powers. Start a romance, or not. Save a city or fail to. The choices are yours; the consequences are impactful. Welcome to the Dawn of Heroes.

FAQs
Why is X power no longer in the game?
To try to better ensure the quality of the product and to make some work easier on m, some powers were removed between the different demos. There is a chance that some powers might return in future updates, but there are no guarantees and I am not making any plans at this time.
Are you going to bring weapons back?
There is a chance that weapons will return to the game, but no guarantee. Assuming that they do, it’ll be post release of the game.
Can you play as a villain in this story?
This is a hero’s tale. While there are a few options that are more anti-hero like, but there is never a full villain arc.
I found a typo, now what?
Please take a screen shot and post it. The game is too large for me to find issues without me being pointed specifically to the problem.
There are missed opportunities for powers. Are you going to fix it?
I am willing to address missed power opportunities within the game. However, I’d need your help for it. If you could provide a screenshot of the scene and explain how the power could have been used, I will see about correcting it. The game is much too large for me to search through it all because you thought your character should have been faster or tougher in it.
My X stat is maxed out. Why doesn’t it feel like it?
This could be for one of two main reasons:
- It is a missed opportunity of the power. If so read the question above on submitting a correction on that.
- Powers within this world do not always meet the same expectations that the media gives on the powers. For example a character with 100 toughness does not get bulletproof skin automatically. It could only be acquired through Modifiers like stone skin (or the like) and a high toughness.
Can I get more powerful as the game progresses?
No, the hero does not gain new powers as the game progresses. However, as I get to sequel stories the characters will continue to grow in powers, effectiveness, and efficiency.
Why are skills that I never use increasing?
These are likely skills that are based on your character’s career. There are three increases to them throughout the story. I may modify how much they lift at a later time.
Could you add a save system?
The sites I host the demos on have save systems, but CoGDemoes requires that you are registered and logged in. I will not be adding an in game save system.
How do you get the fight against Jorden in Chapter 8 of the CEO Route?
By Chapter 6 you need to have 10+ in Deduction and 1 Karma to spend. Then in Chapter 6 select to allow Val to help you instead of going into the building yourself. Then when in the car select the “That is when it hits me.” Option. This leads to the fight in Chapter 8.
How do you romance Austin/Aurora?
This was an oversight. At this point in time, there is no option to start the relationship as far as I can find. I will add an option to start it in a future update.
Can I romance a villain in this game?
Kinda. Camouflage isn’t a hero at the beginning of the game, but things are set to change for her. Beyond that, this story does not allow romanceable villains.
