It’s kinda strange that even if you have a higher SHR than Aegis the mc refers to her as the most powerful hero on their side
I haven’t applied SHR to anything in the story yet, only added the coding for calculating the values. I plan to add text about the different values at a later date.
oh ok
Just want to let everyone know (though it might sound like a irritating warning to some people) that I might post another batch of Profiles next month. Sorry for the future inconvenience.
I have a little idea for the interview part (whether we’re kind of loners like Breaker and Genesis) or love the cameras (like Lugh and Aegis)
Can there be a choice where, if the MC has been impressive enough that the press naturally gravitate towards them? Like the MC would reluctantly give statements or something like that.
(The idea came from a past hero WIP I cannot remember the name of where one of the characters was interviewed yet they hated it and they usually dismissed the reporters)
I genuinely think the problem with Aegis is she is the best in Both Powers and Morals. She is Basically Superman . But Superman is not a Side Character, He is the Face of DC. Characters like Aegis who are the most powerful but also the most Moral work for the Main Character but if used as a Side Character makes the MC feel useless. I think you need to give Aegis some real struggle instead of the She is too powerful and scared of hurting people. Maybe make her a little Fearful, Make her have a temper etc. Anything that allows the MC to shine. For example, Make Aegis scared of Spotlight allowing the MC to act as the face of the group Etc.
I think she can stay the Superman of the group and let her get prideful so in the next installation, a few years after the events of DoH, all of the characters have their own problems (including the MC).
That way, she can be brought down a notch XD
Thank you for your feedback!
I was under the impression that issues with the spotlight were not specifically around Aegis, but the supporting characters as a whole over shadowing the MC.
I disagree with the statement that a super powerful morally just character doesn’t work as a side character. I guess that would make sense if the MC is forced to be morally just, but some choices in the game are allowed to be opposed to hers.
I feel like there is a misunderstanding of Aegis’ character. This is something she talks about in her route and I hope to cover it better in the rewrite of her route. Aegis does not wish to be a superhero. She is one through moral obligation. Her perceived obligation to do what she can because she is one of the few who can is what influences all of her actions, including trying to have the moral high ground, even when she doesn’t agree with that moral position. She feels the need to set an example because society and children will be watching her. She wants nothing to do with these responsibilities or being a superheroine.
This is why I made her arguably the most powerful character, it gives her less excuse to back out because almost no one is as powerful as she is, so few can save people as she could. Her hesitation isn’t rooted in fear of being too powerful and hurting people, though she may sometimes express it like that. That’s also not to say she doesn’t worry about that stuff, but that is not the source of her conflict. In a way, the morals that make her seem to be a problem are harming her.
I hope that helps and I do hope in my rewrite of her personal chapters to give better opportunities for the MC to shine.
This is just a thought I had. But IF the other elements gets re-added to the current demo, I could see an MC with the Cold element using it to cool themselves during the hot temperature in their outfit. Along with maybe even using it to cool some of the other team members.
ELEMENTS!
I want lightning back pretty please :((
This.
Should probably also mention that along with the new batch of profiles I will release next month. I might also go and update most of my existing profile’s images for both their Civilian and Super Personas/Alter Egos since I’ve been using a different AI Generator as some people probably already noticed. Some of you in the past might have remembered me mentioning updating some of my old portraits some months ago; though they were all limited to their Alter Egos. There is a chance that I might do it before I make the new batch. Sorry for the people who might find what I do irritating.
I also would like people to tell me whether they want the updated profiles posted here each in their own batches. For example: 1st Batch 1-3, 2nd Batch 4-6, 3rd Batch 7-9, etc. It would look exactly like that by using the “Hide Detail” button in the setting. Or would everyone just prefer to search it up in the search bar?
I thought I would put up a poll for information gathering. This isn’t to see which are liked the most, but which options are selected the most.
Which Routes have you read through?
- I’m a CEO of a power company. (CEO Route)
- I’m a network and security specialist for computers. (IT Route)
- I’m at my first day working in a factory. (Factory Worker Route)
- I witness a homeless man attacked from behind -Aegis Story-
- I see a car drive into a known chop shop -Breaker Story-
- I spot someone sneaking into a building -Camouflage Story-
- I notice a person flying to a distillery -Genesis Story-
- I observe a tiger chasing a woman -Lugh Story-
I’m still in the middle of my playtesting, I want to go through all the routes before reporting.
Hello everyone,
Another last Friday, so it is time for a Month’s End Update. As it should be known, I have finally finished the revision pass focusing on grammar and spelling. I’m sure there are still issues here and there, but a lot of changes have been done. That update was released about half a month ago. The goal was to finish the rewrite for both of the Aegis Chapters before the 31st, but that’s not going to happen. I’m still writing her first chapter, so the next update to the demo will likely be delayed. I will release it sometime after I finish both of the Aegis chapters.
After that, I’m looking to rewrite both of Genesis’ chapters. When I wrote those, I was struggling with where I was going with the character and what they are dealing with, while some of that is still in the air, I have better insight and would like to make changes to reflect the changes in their character.
I thought I would share one of the possible “proto art assets” to submit with the story. The promo art is subject to change.
Until next month! (hopefully)
Still working on:
- Chapter 3 Aegis Story Rewrite
- Chapter 16 Aegis Story Rewrite
I like the art!
Testing update:
- I’m not sure what you did to the karma system, I don’t see any practical differences.
- The power origin is power armor -coding is still bugged.
- Wearing a helmet/power armor doesn’t protect MC from getting punched in the face.
- Having the “propulsion damages area” flight modifier doesn’t seem to have any effect.
More later!
I’m sorry, I have no intention of reviving the element powers or expanding the blast power in this game.
The feedback I get most often is underuse and missed opportunities for powers. Adding more to the game will only make this issue larger.
I removed all but one of the choices where you were forced to either spend or gain Karma. It still pops up at the same moments, but only one of the choices will affect your Karma score.
This bug is the bane of my existence.
Going to be honest, I didn’t even think about this in my writing. If I’m reading that someone was punched in the face, but I know they have a helmet, I assume they were punched in the helmet. I’ll see about fixing this, though.
This modifier, like flight in space, pops up only one or two times, and you may never trigger it. I can see about mentioning it more often. Its main use is as an attack in one of the optional fights towards the end.
Thank you for all of your feedback!
Doesn’t that mean there’s less chances to spend karma? No wonder I’m having too much all the time.
I find hard to do that when the text describes specifically how they connect with your cheekbones and how your face hurts. That doesn’t sound like a very good helmet. (I have screenshots, I’ll send them when I’ve finished.)
Right, I understand that. But: there are places where the MC is just casually flying. with no concern of the damage that would cause if they have that modifier. I’ll get some screenshots.
Is code diving enabled for this game? If so, how do I do it?
If it’s enabled, there should be a button on the main game screen that lets you access it directly
