COMING THURSDAY: "Gilded Rails," NEW AUTHOR INTERVIEW, TRAILER, and DEMO

I love the management aspects I saw in the demo and am anxious about seeing the results of my actions in the full game. Will definitely buy.

Am so excited! This is going to be everything! Romance!!! :dancer::dancer::dancer::dancer::heart_eyes::heart_eyes::heart_eyes::heart_eyes::heart::heart_eyes::heart::heart_eyes::heart:

I didn’t know what to expect, but after playing through the demo, I’ve very excited! I am loving it so far and love the writing.

I’m definitely gonna get it once it comes out. I’m super hyped!

I’m so excited for this!

Insert a ā€˜you wait ages for a bus and then eleven show up at once’ joke here. Great opening. Hoping this will be the first of some well done romance focused games in the future, though I have to say the railroad and historical setting is very entertaining as well.

i wasn’t forced to flirt with anyone but the game is a bit arbitrary so it’s easy to get negative responses. It’s one of those stat playstyle games, but one where the stats affected by a choice or the stats needed for a successful outcome can be far from obvious. So it can feel like you’re banging your head against a wall at times. For example, I kept botching my interview with Lessing until I peeked at the code and saw there were no right or wrong answers, they just all needed a different high stat to work. I won’t be buying this one. The demo was frustrating enough, and games where you have to guess which stat goes with which choice don’t interest me.

I wonder who I’ll—?

@Fawkes get over here i found a good one, the trashiest RO, literally skulks around your warehouse at night with the rats before attending a soiree, all he needs is to be pushed into the nearest body of water and he’s golden :chef_kiss_wink:

In the light of a recent Adding commas to numbers thread am I the only one thinking it would add greatly to have a subroutine that formats resources in stats screen? For example instead of ā€œ10000ā€ for the game to display ā€œ10,000ā€.

Looking forward to the release here!

So are we black, because I’m pretty sure I was called a negro.

You might have picked the first option in this section?

I played with a variety of characters and there seems to be a problem for gay male MCs and heterosexual female MCs who go straight to work. In both cases, the love interests seem to be set to female. I didn’t encounter the same problem if both those MCs had breakfast with their father first.

Just tested the same thing with a trans MC interested in men. Same problem: Love interests appear as female. But it correctly changes if you have breakfast with your father.

What’s also a bit weird: Right at the beginning, Rosalie already appears as a potential suitor in the stats, even though you haven’t even chosen if the MC will pursue women, men or both.

This alternate US allows gay marriage? Or are we forced into an opposite sex marriage if the mc wants to remain wealthy?

I think gender doesn’t matter as all gay is allowed as good by dad. but I choose being heterosexual girl and ended with absolutely all romance choices as female. Also no idea what choice is what race or anything. The game lost me When I am a college student that have no idea of who Shakespeare is an all women are or illiterates or directly saying silk and dresses are the only interesting topic. Then I was called negro and that’s it i will no play a game racist and sexist I

Wha?!?:astonished: Are all the romanceable npc’s genders on a random number generator or something, so you can end up extremely unlucky? Seems a bad way to go about it as that could potentially leave my gay male mc with 11 women or for that matter Mara’s heterosexual girl.

Sadly that is an increasing truth in education as the trend is towards ever more ā€œspecializationā€ instead of a focus on turning out reasonably well-rounded individuals. :unamused:

Is a bug I think as if i were breakfast i would see male i think other user say. There is a bi or a gay or a heterosexual so i don’t think is a issue in the final game. Still I don’t like how all are put there like cattle to be choosen to i go slaughtering them.
I understand is for demo shake. but 11 person put there like Here you are all same time with no organic development at all is too sudden I don’t have time to know even their names They became just numbers. It is probably because I am demisexual. So being presented directly 11 girls that i have to marey with no context is terrinle this is no romance this is go cattle buying

Wait? The first question sets a diffucilty?! That… is absolutely not clear from the question, choices and tone…

No the gender assignments are constant depending on whether or not the MC is straight, gay or bi/pan. There is no randomness involved. Nevertheless given @feurio and @poison_mara’s comments it does sound like there are some bugs in the assignment of gender to RO’s however for some MC sexual oientations.

Wow! Shakespeare is the Sun around which English Literature classes orbit. His works from Romeo and Juliet to Hamlet, MacBeth, and Julius Casear are required reading in most American high school classes.

Producing well-rounded individuals is college’s job these days now that everyone is supposed to be college prep.
