Fighting is a game changer it doesn’t matter if you have a weapon or if you have hired help but
if your fighting 1 it’s usually result instant game over or if you’re lucky nearly getting killed

I think the 4 downfall points are, as Jason outlined before, are:

  1. Becard’s if one’s relationship is high enough with her, stabbing West in the back and distracting him.

  2. Dynamite, possible with 1 technology, 3 willpower and 3 agility.

  3. Helpers, as far as I know it’s impossible to have helpers and Becard and the same time. No, we’re stuck with Hiram.

  4. Silver, and that’s only if we manage to figure it out in time and have enough time for the game to allow us go to a blacksmith and gets some silver bullets or else, get a silver weapon.

Now apparently, all four of these are enough to survive West, but since all four are possible, we also need a lot of combat ability. But Memeskia survives, he causes a lot of problems at the end of the game, so the balance is to have enough combat skill that when Memeskia arrives, he dies with West. In many ways, he’s really an awful character who’s a bit up his backside because he’s been alive for so long, as though that somehow qualifies him for moral superiority. Frankly, it makes him a bit of a prick.

you can if your mc is career choice is criminal or german pankration, let sabine become the tribune and before facing west choose the helper and voila

Have you tried writing to Padre Carlos (as your Dominus)? He lets you know about silver.

Really? And what we order the criminals or Germans to meet us at the Fair, and find Sabine there? I shall try that, thank you. It just doesn’t leave us much flexibility for dynamite I guess.

@CaballeroDeAndromeda That’s true, but outside of that we only get to find out about silver when it’s very almost too late pool other resources together, like a weapon or helpers.
Have you ever found a way to get into the Memphis Masons Lodge, by the way?

Memeskia causes troubles? I know he holds a grudge against whites but that’s about it.

Not yet. I’ve talked to the Pinkertons and discover they’re into some other stuff but the Masons are not brought up again. I’ll do a dedicated Mason run to see what I can find. What other stats would you suggest for a Mason? Perception, Status?

Seems like a white character is the best bet, the lawyer in particular, since they can read and all that. But lore seems like a good one to go for too, charm and intelligence more or less come with the territory anyway. Some investment in finance and investments would be a good idea too I think.

@MisterJB Yeah, we find out he caused the flooding, if we follow the investigation into the levee, and at the end of the game he tries to free an Indian Chieftain to start uprising, when that fails he decides to slaughter a load of whites. If one has high perception one can also detect that he’s behind the strike. Just ask him and one detects a feeling that he was involved somehow.

Speaking of investments, any advice on dealing with the Freedman’s Bank in Memphis? What’s the best way of profitting from it?

I assumed it was a dead end investment as it goes bust but there might be a way to make some money off it if anyone knows? The most straightforward use of it is to improve one’s relationship with Apollo.

With Charm: 4 & being a member of the KKK they’ll let you know when they’re going to steal the city bonds. Rather than going with them go to the train station and convince the people there to give the bonds to you.

:money_mouth_face: :money_with_wings: :moneybag:

And when you get the chance buy $100,000 worth of bonds from Apollo so you get paid interests.

How do you not lose all your money from the bonds going bust? Sounds awesome though!

@MisterJB

You’ll be getting interests from your bonds and if you have high Finance you’ll maximize the amount of profit possible.

I think an alternate route if you don’t want or can’t be part of the KKK involves Perception & possibly feeding off Socialites.

When is the right time to sell the bonds, do you think? Or should we just keep them?

I always keep them until the last possible moment. I always end up profiting but I haven’t done the math to see by how much.

@jasonstevanhill Seems like a character with three intelligence would understand that Herr A was telling him that he was a loyalist.

I have a suggestion for St Louis. If the PC decides not to face West but have a great relationship with Hiram, what if their farewell would be intimate? Second, if your PC has the necessary skills and Compassion, maybe there should be an option where you can try and save Hiram’s nephew? Sneak him out of the battlefield somehow?

Third, with the threat of West imminent maybe there should be an option in-game where the PC can improve a stat that can help defeat West? Like agility, strength and fighting where you perform physical excercises. And maybe technology can be raised by researching more on how to defeat him.

I think the problem with that is that they only have a very limited amount of time, and that’s not taking into account West’s location.

I don’t think the characters know where he is until West starts attacking, and even then eliminating West is the #1 priority.

This one is currently in the game. They’re the “West’s Downfall” points. The more you have the better your chances are of defeating West. They are acquired, in part, by researching about Werewolves. Also, Shapeshifting: 3 also helps you against West.

A heartfelt goodbye that you give to your loved ones whenever you’re living doesn’t take longer than an hour. I dont know if this is because of my MC’s personality but his goodbye to Hiram I felt was lacking of any emotion.

Maybe if the PC has high perception or stealth, perhaps he can find the whereabouts of Hiram’s nephew and escape without drawing attention to West. Or maybe while the Sabine and Hiram is fighting West the PC can look for Hiram’s nephew and escape.
