Oh… then it was my fault to misunderstood  i thought harvest meant , normal harvest of the crops …haha, i didn’t realise it must apply magic…

Well, like most idealist revolutionist , my MC drove himself into a Faith of his own idealistic dream, that everything will be alright based on my own perception… it was only with such unwavering false hope of idealistic belief that i manage to drive my rebels on…and that is also what attract the naive soul of Suzanne into me, our naivity were such a great match for each other

Surely the game-world must have equivalents? Instead of Quislings my mc would use either Keriatou’s or De Lelle’s for example to have the same meaning as shorthand for sellouts and collaborators.

For Achilles simply use an in-universe mythical hero and I’m sure there is some philosopher instead of Plato whose thought comes close enough to be the alternate namegiver for “platonic”.

Easy fix, just have “Platou” instead of “Plato” then you can have platonic things make sense.

I’m wondering if it’ll be possible for devout mc to lose faith in Angels and all that  or like have crisis of faith?

Okay, I’m going to need one gauntlet and five stones. Just don’t ask too many questions about what they’re for.

I thought there were six stones…

Specifically I think the helots plant crops normally and theurges use magic to accelerate the growth.

@Havenstone Do these supercharged magicfarms have any deleterious effects on the land itself?

The earth was arid no apt for farming so badly damaged without magic

Hmmm…as @poison_mara stated , the earth is supposed to be Acidic , if that is the case, theoretically we could find a away to neutralise the Acid with Alkaline substance ?

Just a thought , all hope is not lost since this is only Book 1… the future is ultimately in our own hand

My plan is better, let the empire karagon famine and die well I maintain the rest of provinces in the best way possible with reserves and commerce. But with no wards and no longer blood agriculture… the turmoil will be legendary reason for not starting an anarchy in first place and burn the reserves

Errr… I am the Angel Eclect there, so i can’t be so “cruel” …i meant i am suppose to be sent from the Heaven right ? So i need to show everyone that God(s) have mercy on everyone

Well… that is supposed to be my Campaign Attraction

The clone version! The game world could also have Euuripedes, Oedipuus, and Jesuus.

Absolutely.

This may not become clear in-game until Game 3, though there may be some reference to it in Game 2. But yes, intensive Theurgic agriculture strips out nutrients at a faster rate, leading to (eventually) dropping yields and land that can only be farmed by Theurgy.

The acid, arid land mentioned in the game is the Brecks, the pasturelands along the southern border. There is actually some decent farmland around Rim Square (almost all owned by the Keriatou and Pelematou)–or farmland that was decent until overcultivation left it dependent on Theurgy.

Damn that does put the Hegemony (and by extension the successor state(s) ) in an even worse position then I had previously thought, particularly since the Hegemony due to shortsighted trade policy lacks the international connections to the other continents to be able to import significant amounts of food. We can try to trade with the abhumans of course but I expect that volume to be tiny or small compared to what we’d need and my mc would rather face down the famines then rely on “aid” from Hallassur as that will never be worth the price.
In addition that same lack of seafaring prowess means the other continents won’t be able to provide ready escape valves for the surplus population.
I suppose the fishing industry could be better developed due to the coastal wards as might seaweed, (shell)fish and algae cultivation. But all those things take time and capital to develop.

Does that means we need to get rid of or stop the Theurgy as soon as possible ? :astonished:

The Hegemony currently has a thriving grain trade with the Abhumans. It’s, um, all going the other direction. They’ll have a bit of a food shock down South if you stop the blood economy, too. (They’ll get over it without any threat of famine, but there’s no way they’d start sending enough food north to make up the deficit.)

The Wards don’t make a huge difference to the fishing industry, actually. Fishing villages take root on the outcrops between the Ward-wall and the sea, and send the fish across the Ward to market. They’re a favorite hiding place for thieves, spies, pirates, etc. You’ll get the chance to visit some in Game 2.

If you do it without a transition plan of some kind, hundreds of thousands (probably millions) of people will die. Of course, depending on your choices as a rebel, we may be on track for that kind of a death rate anyway.

I presume there is still a conservation of matter and energy aspect here to Therugy. It sounds like you are saying therugic farming is unsustainable writ large, is that right? Can therugy put additional nitrogen and metals back into the soil?

I suppose you would use thuerugy to accelerate the growth rotation crops as well and the composting of manure. I also suppose the Hegemony would be familiar with bloodmeal…

Don’t forget Buuddha

I am proud for once for evil Gandhi She nailed for once what will happen if she win and Theurgy disappear. My point is if someone has to die should be karagon I will loot everything they had and let them die by famine without piety or compassion. Use the loot to buy stuff during transition.

Hmm, I thought it was one for each finger, but I guess I was wrong.
