“Fuzzbutt” was actually user input to name the new creature type they invented with Vivomancy. It was a little dragon-like thing with silver fur, designed in a way similar to the robot from Choice of Robots.
Pretty sure the crowd was not aware of Urban Dictionary’s meaning. We also sometimes use it as a nickname for our cat.
Script is somewhat unreasonably hard to use - hard to give it inputs and hard to affect the game - even if you know Javascript. Playing with CSS to change the color of all bars of a particular type would be a much easier way to create a distinctive game if you didn’t need a bunch of different colors.
I just read on your profile that some chapters are bigger than choice of Alexandria. Is this game going to be as epic as choice of robots? Because it seems that way.
Long after having first bought it, I still occasionally reinstall Robots just to go through it several more times. That’s definitely going to be the case with Magics too.
Ah, I have been looking forward to this game coming out ever since I saw it in the release lists at the beginning of the year. Loved Choice of Robots and Choice of Alexandria. Still two long, agonising months to go, though.
Wooh! I so cannot wait for another new release from my favourite author @kgold, especially when it’s set in a fantasy setting. I am curious as to how your story-telling (since all your previous works have been a little bit more sci-fi than anything) would be read in the fantasy genre.
The upcoming releases page now gives a surprisingly specific date of July 19.
I wouldn’t bank on that exact date too much, but I’m definitely giving them the final draft (already revised according to 3 editors’ feedback) in the next day or so, just as soon as I get randomtest’s number of iterations into nosebleed territory. (The +2 editors’ feedback was a surprise and is what I’ve been working on since the original post - hence my overly optimistic promise of a beta soon.) Then, you know, there’s beta and getting the stores to approve it and that kind of thing, none of which operates on a totally deterministic schedule. But I’m sure it’s a reasonable goal.
Thanks for your excitement! I am optimistically thinking that this will be bigger than Robots! At over 530,000 words, that is already literally true!
@kgold last time i played a game you made, i was emotionally ruined at the end of almost every playthrough. Call me masochistic but im ready for this one.
